Lovely House, Lovely Location

  • 5 of 5

We used this house to vacation with extended family. The nieces and nephews loved having their own rooms and the extra living spaces meant one group could be playing games loudly while another sat and read or napped quietly in the other living room. The kitchen is very well equipped and the dining room table could easily hold the whole family (9 people). The location is perfect - out of town and just a few minutes walk from the Burren, yet close enough to town to walk in for a pub drink or an evening meal. Ballyvaughan is an easy drive from the region's sights and hikes. The little Spar in town has convenient hours and almost everything you need for provisions and the Saturday Farmers market provides a nice supplement to that resource. The only issue we had was finding sheets for the beds - whoever cleaned before we came did not seem to know which sheets fit which beds, so we had a little shuffling and searching to do. However, Mary (who takes care of the place) was very helpful resolving the problem and otherwise the place was perfect for us!

Idyllic! Perfect for families.

  • 5 of 5

This house is in the most beautiful location with the rugged burrens in the back and Galway out front. As advertised, there is cattle everywhere which adds to the charm. It is extremely quiet and peaceful at the house although all the conveniences of modern life are available. The town is a 15-20 minute walk away where you will find friendly folk, great cafes and restaurants as well classic Irish pubs. We loved this place and can't wait to return. A little piece of heaven!!

Perfect place to stay in Ballyvaghan

  • 5 of 5

Hard to imagine a better place to stay in the West of Ireland. The house is close enough to Ballyvaghan, but just outside of town so you feel like you are surrounded by the Burren. The house holds lots of people, but my wife and I were there alone, and the space embraced us perfectly -- nothing cavernous about it! It has all the necessities of modern living without pretense. And the minders of the place -- Mary and Phil down the road -- are accessible, exceedingly friendly, and helpful.

Family Christmas Vacation

  • 5 of 5

When you enter this house, you can tell it was designed for a family. With multiple rooms for reading, relaxing by the fire, playing games or watching TV, there is something for everyone. It is well stocked in the kitchen which was great because we prepared a large Christmas dinner and birthday dinner while we were there. We had everything we needed. There is a lot to do in the nearby town, great pubs and major attractions not too far away. There is also a fantastic Italian restaurant which is a must go to! We celebrated the holidays far from home with just our family and it truly was a Christmas to remember thanks to our wonderful, cozy and perfectly located home away from home. I would highly recommend this home especially for several couples or a family with young or grown children. You won't be disappointed.

Stone House In Ballyvaughan

  • 5 of 5

There were four adults staying at the house and we enjoyed it very much. We enjoyed being in a country setting with cows just across the fence. An ideal location was excellent. We rented a car and toured the west coast of Ireland seeing the Cliffs of Moher, Gallway, Castles and much more. The house was a short walk to Ballyvaughan. The home has plenty of room to roam and it would comfortably sleep several more people. It was clean as a whistle and had a kitchen that was well stocked with whatever pots and pans one might need. We didn't cook there very often because the pubs in the area had such good food. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful, comfortable home in great location and perfect for a large family

  • 5 of 5

We would highly recommend this home! The house is beautiful and the location is ideal. There were 9 people in our group and the house was very comfortable for all of us. The bedrooms were spacious and the common areas downstairs were open, comfortable and never felt crowded. The kitchen was well-stocked. The sun room was our favorite room. The location is fantastic because you can walk around the Burren from the front door. It is also walking distance or a very short drive into the town of Ballyvaughan. The owners and neighbors were very hospitable and responsive. We all agreed that we want to come back and stay in this home again.
