Beautiful two-story, three bedroom, three bath townhome close to downtown and skiing. Feels like a free-standing home.

Located just four blocks from Main Street in Ketchum, you can park your car and walk/bike to all the wonderful shops, galleries, restaurants and trails. A morning stroll to Java on 4th for coffee or breakfast at Perry's is one of the privileges of this central Ketchum location.

The house is equipped with all the essentials to make it feel at least as good as home. Nestled in West Ketchum on a quiet side street, with views of Sun Valley's Bald Mountain and surrounding mountains, you are in the mountains and also close to everything civilization has to offer. The open, airy feel of the main floor is expressed in vaulted ceilings and a wonderful stone fireplace in the great room, comfortable dining room and a well-stocked state-of-the-art kitchen. The authentic western decor is complemented by elegant alder doors and trim, granite kitchen countertops and slate flooring. Upstairs, the carpeted master suite also has vaulted ceilings, a king bed, a large walk-in closet, flat screen TV and Garnet Hill bedding. The master bathroom has a walk-in travertine shower, travertine floors, separate water closet and a jacuzzi tub. On the main level the two bedrooms have carpet throughout. One has a queen bed and the other has a king bed. Each bedroom has two full length mirrored closets and their own bathrooms with subway tiled showers/tub. The laundry/mud room has a washer/dryer, utility sink, and plenty of extra towels and sheets.

If you're not familiar with Sun Valley, it's world class skiing at its finest!! The snowmaking is some of the best in the country and the gondola is an option for those who like to stay warm on the way up. There are two main lift accesses for the ski mountain; River Run and Warm Springs. River Run, with its new gondola and beautiful base area can be reached in a 3 minute drive, 5 minute bike ride, or 10 minute walk. Which means you can have the all the amenities of town but still have the relaxation of being in the mountains and close to the slopes. Warm Springs Lift access is 5 miles away. Many of the skier races and half pipes are located on this side of the mountain. Also, Apple's Restaurant offers great apres ski entertainment and food.

The house is centrally located to all the valley has to offer. Walking distance to the Big Wood River for blue ribbon trout fishing. The 48 mile long bike path is 1/2 block away. Numerous hiking, snow shoeing and biking trails are very close by. During the winter, there is an ice skating rink two blocks away and the bike path turns into a cross country ski trail. Local tennis courts are two blocks away. Several golf courses are close by. Art galleries are within walking distance. The valley's KART bus can take you to the YMCA; or for that matter you could walk to the Y for a swim.

There are many events to attend while visiting the Sun Valley/Ketchum area: Ride Sun Valley Bike Festival, 4th of July Rodeo, Sun Valley Wine Auction, Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival, Writers Conference, Trailing of the Sheep, Wagon Days, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Jazz Festival and the Northern Rockies Folk Festival to name a few......

We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

The townhouse could not have been more ideal for celebrating our first Anniversary with our family! From the warm fire, to lovely decor, spacious rooms and attentive support of Amy we could not have been more happy with the experience. We can't wait to come back and stay again next season!

Centrally Ketchum location, spacious, perfect for multi-generational family gathering, great hosts

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five, grandparents, parents and 11-month-old, just spent four terrific nights at the Harriman Ketchum Townhouse. There are two king-bed master bedrooms with bathrooms as well as a queen bed with bathroom, which was perfect. If you're multi-generational, suggest the older generation stay in the master bedroom on the top level, which is where the living/dining/kitchen areas are, and let the younger generations use the downstairs area, which requires climbing stairs more.

The main floor, which is the top floor, had a huge living, dining, kitchen combo with high ceilings and great views of the surrounding mountains and nearby aspens. We spent any time indoors in this area. Plenty of room for the toddler to play and crawl around while the adults conversed. The showers provide a powerful spray (good after a long day hiking or skiing), and there's a large jacuzzi for soaking. We were able to park one of our cars in the attached garage, which can be very useful in bad weather. The entire description of the home was accurate, including the part about the Western-based theme, including a large, stuffed elk head in the living room and a huge bison in the upstairs master bedroom. The home was immaculate when we arrived, but not impersonal: There were interesting historical photos from the owner and his ancestors, and some good books about their contributions, which made the townhouse feel like a home.

The property manager, who is a gem, provided a high chair, a pack-n-play, a full box of age-specific toys (!), gates for the top and bottom of the stairs, and a high-quality backpack for holding the toddler while hiking or walking, as well as good brochures about various activities, bus schedules, etc. She called to discover when we wanted to arrive and then made sure to meet us, on our schedule. WAY ABOVE and beyond.

You are only 2-4 short blocks to all that downtown Ketchum has to offer, but in the residential area, so it's very quiet at night. We enjoyed local restaurants Perry's, Il Naso, and The Sawtooth Club, all of which were within easy walking distance. We took the gondola to the Roadhouse Restaurant on Bald Mountain and our son-in-law went fly fishing (successfully!) just two blocks from the house. All in all, it was a stellar choice for our family. We highly recommend it to anyone and hope to return.

A perfect place to stay in Ketchum

  • 5 of 5

For over 20 years we've spent part of every summer in the Sun Valley area, and we've never stayed in a more pleasant and convenient rental than this one. It's clean, modern, well appointed and beautifully decorated western style, with plenty of room for our group of six. It's also perfectly located in Ketchum -- a quiet neighborhood near the bike path, yet an easy walk to Main Street restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.

Perfect location in Ketchum.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our three week stay in this home. We were able to walk to dinner every night and to River Run for concerts. It is one block from the park, as well, so the children could easily walk over and play. Even though it is right in town, there is a feeling of space as the lots to the east and south are undeveloped so we didn't feel closed in at all. It had wonderful light and views thanks to those spaces! The home is cozy and comfortable and we really enjoyed all the books on Sun Valley and Mr. Harriman. The owner and property manager are very responsive and, clearly, take very good care of the home. We enjoyed our summer vacation there and would definitely recommend it to others!

Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

We spent Memorial Day weekend at this house and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is very close to town which made everything very convenient. It is also on the bike trail which was great for walking and running. The house itself is very comfortable and well designed and furnished. The living room has windows on three sides which allows you to see both sides of the Valley.
