The Mountains are Calling and I Must Go
Find yourself immersed in a setting worthy of the works of Thoreau and Muir. This 1400 square foot, charming, custom stone, and stucco home is perfect for a dreamy romantic getaway or enchanting honeymoon. Towering pines and colossal aspen trees surround you in every direction and mere steps lead you to over 400 feet of year-round Mill Creek frontage on the property. The views are unobstructed and beautiful. You may believe that you are in a fairy tale.
-- THE PROPERTY --
Master Bedroom: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: Full Bed
Let the peace of the forest and tranquility of cascading Mill Creek soothe your soul. Glance upon the neighboring pond. Two balconies, one loft style in and one out, lend themselves to the poetic serenades of nature. The house is located on nearly 3 acres with property lines abutting the National Forest on 2 sides with endless recreational opportunities. A picnic table, patio dining furniture, and a gas grill are available for alfresco dining.
Want to cook inside? The fully equipped kitchen features a 5 burner imported Italian convection range, leathered granite countertops, dishwasher, ample cabinet space, stainless double door refrigerator, and cushioned seating. Beneath the stairs, you will find outdoor sports equipment, a washer, dryer, and iron.
Adjourn to the intimate living space and melt into the comfy sofa as you sit in front of the fire. Watch a movie from the collection on the flat screen television. One bundle of wood is included in each stay. Don’t forget that the floors are seasonally heated.
Peek into the lower guest room to find a full sized antique bed, wardrobe, and stained glass lighting. Enjoy views of the landscaping and creek from this etched glass enclosed room. The full guest bath is complete with a double deep slate and pebble shower stall. You may want to take a few extra minutes to towel off while standing on the warmed tile.
The Master Suite exudes romance. Snuggle under an electric blanket on a queen canopy bed. There are individual dressers, a ceiling fan, sculptured carpeting, and an open loft to allow your spirit to soar. Explore the universe without light pollution with the provided telescope. The walk-in closet has room for all your apparel and has a full- length mirror and slat wall to give you a boutique feel. The marble and tile, twin sink and vanity, makes the Master Bath beautifully functional. A stand-alone shower features a pebble floor and rain cloud showerhead. Soak away any tensions or sore muscles in the separate whirlpool bathtub. There are a bubble glass window and handheld shower to make bath time even more interesting. A lovely dressing table will allow you to groom yourself in style for those special moments. In the bath closet board games, extra linen, a hairdryer, and extra toiletries can be found.
By design, the home is “unplugged”. It is situated in a spectacular box canyon that conveniently blocks cell and Internet signals. Release yourself and clear your mind. Not to worry. There is a public parking lot within a half-mile where you can connect if needed. Travel 4 miles down the road and enjoy a cup of coffee as you sign in to your account with free Starbuck’s WiFi.
This is very much a private home at 9300 feet in Rocky Mountain elevation. There is an abundance of foliage and encounters of the animal kind are not uncommon. Sightings of deer, bear, moose, trout, goats, mountain lions, various birds, and little furry critters all have been made at one time or another. If you are easily scared or are uncomfortable with a little occasional dust this may not be your best choice. But if you want a secluded, romantic, clean, comfortable, conveniently located, tastefully furnished home in a magical forest this could be the vacation of a lifetime. It’s a wonderful place to bring out your inner mountain man or mama.
The home has been designed for 2 as the owner’s downtime retreat and as such has amenities that satisfy their needs for comfort and quiet. We hope you enjoy their escape from the noise of a much too busy life if only for a short while.
-- THE LOCATION --
Arapahoe National Forest, comprised of 723,000 public acres, surround the small Mill Creek Park community, with hiking trails beginning at your doorstep!

Each season has its own unique ambiance. Winter snows provide an almost gingerbread house experience with a sense of a marshmallow coating covering the landscape. It is wonderful cuddling in front of the Jotul wood burning stove. Wildflowers are abundant throughout the summer months. Mossy banks will tickle your toes as you dip them in the clear waters of the creek. The changing leaves bring an autumn splendor to the property and forest. Due to a high concentration of aspen trees in the area, you can be assured a golden experience. Spring is a season of renewal and unpredictability. Chances are that you can ski in the morning because fresh snow fell 20 miles to the west and then grab your clubs for a round of golf in the afternoon 20 miles to the east. Dynamite spring river rafting, just down the road in Clear Creek, will get your pulse racing and adrenaline rising with class rated rapids.
