Hello, my name is Doug. I really enjoy being the host. Silver Hill is a very unique property in that it has all the grandeur of a classy 1908 bungalow, high ceilings, wood floors, adorable yard, plus the very high end amenities. The best part is when the guests enter for the first time and go 'WOW!'. Everybody raves about their stay here.
Douglas purchased this House in 2011
Why Douglas chose Silver Hill
It is beautiful inside and out and it is close to everything.
What makes this House unique
The kitchen is a joy to cook and entertain from. The dining room opens up to a darling sun room that opens onto the back courtyard with grass and a large shade tree for great outdoor entertaining.

Feels like home.
(This review is written by a member of my family for which I had arranged this rental.)
We recently stayed at this home for 5 nights. It was a great place to stay, we felt like we were in our own home.
The house is large, especially considering we there were 7 of us staying in it. We never felt cramped and enjoyed a couple of meals with additional family joining us. The layout of the house is very open, but with the opportunity to have privacy in the 3 bedrooms if desired. It was very conducive to family interaction, but still allowed for individual time when that was necessary. The sleeping arrangements were adequate, even for our large family. We never felt like we were shoehorned into a tiny place.
One of the things that made the house feel so much like home was all of the amenities provided. Our favorite was the large living room and the back yard. Family game time in the living room with plenty of seating and a private yard perfect for a toddler to play and family to enjoy the out of doors together. It is shaded by large trees on all sides, providing just the right combination of sunshine and ability to escape the heat. A barbecue grill was available for our use and patio dining set. If you feel more inclined to cook and eat inside, you are supplied with equally accommodating resources. There is a surprisingly large stock of kitchen items and gadgets.
The location is perfect for just about any reason you might be in Albuquerque. The house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood that is well kept and inviting. The neighbors are friendly, and there didn’t appear to be a problem with crime. I don’t think you could pick a better spot in the city for someone who wants to see and do everything Albuquerque has available.
The experience was made even better due to the personality of the owner. Doug was a fantastic host. He was very pleasant and easy to work with, and quick to attend to any concerns that we had. He also stayed out of our way and gave us privacy.
Thank you for noticing the work and thought we put into making our vacation rental a complete home for the traveler visiting The Land of Enchantment! Your review of the outdoor amenities showed me a side of the home that I wouldn't have thought of. Your review hit so many positive points about Silver Hill Bungalow that I will make it a Feature Review. It's fun to meet so many interesting people. Thank you for your review and stay. Doug (owner)
Our favorite place to stay in Albuquerque.
We come to Albuquerque a few times a year, and whenever we’re able we like to stay in Doug’s Silver Street house. It is just our favorite house in Albuquerque.
Great house in a great location
The house is wonderful. It's very nicely appointed and equipped. The location is in a cool university neighborhood within walking distance of some great restaurants (I'm look at you El Patio). It's also a short drive from the airport, which is nice. The owner is very organized and responsive with lots of clear instructions and communications. On top of all that, there's wicked fast internet access.
Highly recommend. Would rent again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Silver Hill. This home is in a great location. Quiet neighborhood. Close to airport and freeway access. Close to Nob Hill neighborhood with great restaurants and people watching.
Would happily stay again!
Very clean, nice place
The house is very cute, very clean and a perfect place for a short stay. Everything you need (including a corkscrew) is available. The only issue was with the VRBO app itself. It made communication with the property manager less than efficient. The house itself was very comfortable and clean.
Actually, the guest kept starting new communication threads. So I kept getting messages from someone who showed that they hadn't paid anything and I couldn't figure out who this person was. Guests I need to go to the reservation communicate directly from there. Then it is seamless.
Nice and quiet
Nice house with everything we needed to make a Thanksgiving dinner for family and friends. The beds in the house were awesome! House is close to great shopping and food. We enjoyed our stay in this house.
Nob Hill is truly one of the most desirable locations in Albuquerque. It has a lively night life and a very eclectic, diverse population.
Our home is located on a quiet street near a major hospital, airport and other public transportation including a commuter train to Santa Fe.
Walk to a wide variety of restaurants, shops and galleries.
Day trips from Albuquerque are my favorite. Santa Fe, Taos, White Sands, Carlsbad caverns, many Native American reservations, Pueblos and ruins, all within a one to three hour drive. We also have the worlds longest tram that takes you from the desert floor to the top of the Sandia Mountains where you get a fantastic view of the city and watch the sunset from a beautiful restaurant at the top.
