The view from this condo is spectacular We enjoyed staying at this place very much .
Clean, cozy perfect for our family! Would recommend and go again.
Rented this condo for family ski.trip, was perfect!! Place was clean, cozy and had the necessities! Was a big snow but parking lot and road was cleared. We had a great time and would rent here again ! Beautiful views.
Overall, my family really enjoyed the property. It was very roomy for the 6 of us and all amenities were provided. The community hot tub was very nice and the fact it had 2 bathrooms was fantastic. We also checked out the pool and spa along with the basketball court. Naturally it is designed as a ski lodge but met our needs for a July vacation as well. The only complaints that I have are that the beds were very uncomfortable and a mattress upgrade would be recommended. The TV was ok but was fuzzy (definitely not HD) but that was really only used in the early morning and before bed so it wasn't a big deal. The scenery around the property was amazing. My wife and I went on two walks. One walk was around the ski lodge and some of the private cabins and the other was around the Wharf mine which was both beautiful and interesting. The location was up in the hills but it was literally minutes from both Lead and Deadwood. The first drive up seemed like it took a while but after that it was only minutes. There's plenty of things to do in Deadwood and the 4th of July celebration in Lead was nothing short of amazing. We plan on making a return trip to Deadwood as we enjoyed it that much. The condo is also within 90 minutes of Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Custer, Sturgis, Spearfish and Rapid City. In other words, there's plenty of things to do. Well I hope this little review is beneficial. If you are looking for a clean affordable condo close to Deadwood then the Barefoot Alpine is the way to go.
Perfect amount of space, far from Rushmore
The space itself was what we needed. It was myself and my 7 year olds, along with my parents traveling. We checked in late and were helped promptly by the Property Manager.
The unit as mentioned in other posted is not in the main resort but it's around the corner. The kitchen, bed rooms, bathrooms etc were clean and well stocked with needed items. You are at very high altitude more then a mile high at the resort which I didn't realize and probably wasn't our best choice for medical reasons. There are rentals above and next to you, we heard the people upstairs walking a lot but not enough to cause issue.
This location is beautiful but it's remote, it's 3 miles from the main road and although there are signs it's not that easy to locate the first time. Our phones also didn't work very well there (att, verizon) for service.
We were in town to see all that the area has to offer. Being from a city when I saw its distance in mileage from Rapid City and that it was highway I was unphased. Well there is not a road that goes straight for more them a quarter mile so it is an hour or more drive to Rapid City and about 1.5 to Keystone. For us this was too far with the kids. If i were to.do.it over I would stay closer. If this unit could be moved 30 mins south it would be perfect. If you don't mind the drive or will spend most of your time north this is am ideal rental. We had an amazing time even with the extra driving.
Space was great, loved that there were 2 bathrooms! The beds weren't so comfortable and it took the dryer 2 rounds to get clothes dry. Otherwise, enjoyed the stay!
This cabin was very nice access to Terry Peak Ski Lodge. The pictures we saw advertised for this lodge were different than where we actually stayed. It wasn't a big difference, but not as we expected. The cabin was more like an attached apartment or hotel. There was a hot tub, but we were under the impression that it was an indoor hot tub from the pictures advertised. The accommodation was everything we needed, so overall we were satisfied.
