Why Tanya Darrow chose Bay Saint Louis
We bought this house after Hurricane Katrina. It was completely gutted down to stud walls and completely remodeled. Recently we decided to put the home up for rent so others would have the opportunity to enjoy the area as much as we do. We have always enjoyed being on the water. When we discovered Bay St. Louis in the summer of July 1998 we knew this was going to be where we spent our summers with our boys (back then ages 5 and 2) now ages 20 & 17.
What makes this House unique
We love to fish, whether its on the river or in the gulf. We also enjoy our time hanging out up the river on the sand bars where we meet great people. Also sitting outside in the morning and enjoying the quietness and breeze on the porch is such a luxury!

Loved the house, especially the downstairs with the tv. Everything we needed was there. We had 3 couples and everyone enjoyed their stay. Will definitely book with again
Large Group Get Together
Needed a place to accommodate me and my siblings (6+ spouses that came) for our annual “get together”Met expectations; had a couple of “hiccups” but owner came to resolved.
Excellent home and location
This place is very nice, clean and well located. We had a weekend with 6 guys on a bachelor party weekend and had a great time.
Nice an quiet place
Nice an quiet place I enjoyed the stay.... Looking forward to booking again soon...
Wonderful time had by all!
My group really enjoyed this rental -- and plan to book it again! It was very spacious, the mornings on the deck sipping coffee as the fog lifted over the waterway was relaxing and we found we spent most of our time at all times of the day sitting on the deck! This was a great condo for the money and the property manager responded quickly to any issue that came up. Definitely worth the money for this one!!!
Needs some TLC.
We rented your house for the week of cruising the coast. In the past, we have never been disappointed by a rental choice. I wish I could say the same about this one.
If you are looking for a ‘man camp’ type house- this is probably more to your liking.
Positive aspects- location was beautiful. We caught fish & crabs right off the dock. We were able to park our classic car and truck under cover. The house was spacious and could easily accommodate a large crowd. Access to stores, interstate and events was great.
Sadly the things we felt were negative outweighed the positive. We found this home to be lacking some necessities and needing repairs. Upon arriving here we had to buy toilet paper, dishwashing liquid & tablets, garbage bags, salt & pepper. After we settled in & started using things more we discovered there were additional purchases we did not anticipate- there were no steak knives or paring knives- we had to buy knives. The manual can opener was broken- we had to buy one of those too. The beds were uncomfortable and after two nights of torture we went and bought mattress pads to go on top of the beds. Another unanticipated purchase was flood lights for the porch and yard- the ones their were either burnt out or missing.
On top of all the unexpected expenses we found much of the home in poor condition or at best not taken well care of. The stair railing leading upstairs is wobbly and we did not feel safe using it. The outdoor furniture is very weathered and we did not trust to sit on it. The bar area downstairs had exposed wiring and did not look up to code. The living room furniture is very worn out, weathered and extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The bar stools were literally coming apart. We opened the sleeper sofa to see if it would be comfortable- we found it to have a dirty sheet with food and hair on it. There were many bath towels but several had stains and or holes in them. Also the bottom drawer of the dresser in our room was broke/stuck closed. Lastly we brought things with us anticipating being able to bbq. The outdoor bbq pit has a large hole in its bottom so any charcoal would have just fallen out.
We are saddened to give this place such a negative review. It seems with just a little more effort and care, this place could be awesome. As it stands we give this place a 3 out of 5.
