About this property

Denali Fireside is a newer facility within walking distance of all of Talkeetna's fantastic attractions and amenities. The Sunset suite has two queen beds, gas fireplace, satellite HD TV with DVD player, WIFI, dining area, bar sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee brewer and full bathroom. The suite has vaulted ceilings, rustic log/frame construction featuring Alaskan décor and a private covered deck with log glider. We do not charge a cleaning fee or take a security deposit.

Close to town, also located between main road and train tracks. Train only goes by a few times a day

Anniversary getaway

I decided to book a room here last minute as an anniversary surprise. Received confirmation of the room quickly. When we got to the property, we were greeted by Don’s smile. His attitude made us instantly glad we were staying here. The room was the nicest place I had ever stayed at in Talkeetna. It was new and clean. Super powerful shower, so be prepared to feel like a ninja going against a super soaker, ha! We loved our stay, and will stay here again the next time we go to Talkeetna.

Don Devore was one of the original Alaska 59ers who traveled by motorized wagon train to Alaska in 1959 to homestead in the rugged wilderness, five miles north of Talkeetna. Homesteading was tough but rewarding. Don's family learned self-reliance, and survived on the barest of necessities. Families and friends grew close, helping each other in hard times and sharing what they had.
