About Randy and Julie McMillian
This is a family owned and operated business where every member is involved in making our place a 'haven' for your visit. From the repairing and remodeling every building, to the cleaning and care to every room, our family has worked together to provide the best experience for you during your stay.
Randy and Julie McMillian purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Randy and Julie McMillian chose Essex
Our place is up in the mountains, next to one of God's beautiful handiwork, Glacier National Park. We live here to enjoy the uniqueness of this area; to raise and train our children to work and serve others; and for our family to be able to work together.
What makes this Cabin unique
When you stay in our home, not only do you enjoy the family touches, but you also benefit from the services that we offer to all our guests at the Inn and RV park. If you need ideas on places to go or hikes to take, we will share with you what we have seen and done over the years that we have lived here. If you want to go white water rafting on the river, we can book the trip for you. If you want to take a boat ride on one of the lakes in the Park, we can book the trip for you. You will have the privacy of your own home while benefiting from the services that our business has to offer.

Perfect location and wonderful hospitality!
We enjoyed our stay - well equipped kitchen and very clean 3 bedroom home.
Perfect for our family of 6 Adults
Away from the main crush of the park, lovely setting, super clean, no critters or bugs. Saw a bear cub our first evening there on a walk at dusk (we skeedaddled), great hosts whose expert sight-seeing recommendations were invaluable for getting in the most we could in the short time we had. We used the kitchen often, cooking breakfast every morning and dinner each night, packed our lunches. Great fun playing games each evening (bring your own, none on site) and a movie one night. Minor drawbacks - the train runs behind the cabin and cooking bacon outside (we did it the night before and zapped for 10 sec. in the microwave between paper towel to reheat). Bring your own toiletries and laundry soap if staying more than one night. We would definitely stay again.
We had an A+ experience! Very kind and helpful staff, terrific food.
Their advice and knowledge about what to do while in Glacier was perfect.
Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return in the future.
What a privilege to serve your family! You are the reason we enjoy serving in the hospitality industry! Thank you for telling others of your positive experience, The McMillian family.
The two or three bedroom cabin is your home away from home. It is centrally located on HWY 2 between both sides of Glacier National Park. The cabin is on the property of Glacier Haven Inn, Healthy Haven Cafe', and Glacier Haven RV and Campground, offering many services for your stay. Within 10 miles of our home, there is hiking and fishing to mountain lakes; rafting and fishing in the Middle Fork River; viewing Grant Glacier to the south of us; and seeing the mountain goats at the Goat Lick.
Depending on the size of your party, you can book the cabin as a 2 bedroom or as a 3 bedroom. This cabin has just recently been completely remodeled. As a two bedroom cabin, you will have one bedroom with a queen bed, and the second bedroom with two full size beds. As a third bedroom, there is a queen bed. There is a full kitchen, having anything you need if you want to fix meals to eat 'at home'. There is even a grill on the covered porch. There is a large living room for everyone to hang out and watch satellite TV with HBO. There is a DVD/VCR and movies to enjoy. In the full bathroom is a washer and dryer to use.
At the Inn we have rooms available if your party needs additional space. On site we have a cafe that serves a fresh breakfast buffet, sack lunches, and home cooked dinners. At our RV park, you can have a campfire and even play a game of volleyball or badminton. As a service to our guests, we can help with arranging some of the activities in and around Glacier National Park. We can book boat rides on one of the lakes in the Park, or raft trips on the Middle Fork River around the park. We can get you in touch with those who provide horseback riding or helicopter rides, both in the Park.
In addition to all the things to see and do in Glacier National Park, there is the Hungry Horse Dam and Lake 30 miles from us. We are 50 miles from Kalispell and Whitefish for shopping and other activities. South of Kalispell is Flathead Lake. To the north, many of our guests spend the day in Waterton, Canada to visit the northern portion of Glacier National Park.
