3 bedroom, 2 bath - large family room and gorgeous kitchen
About Marianne Sullivan
Kirk and I both spent many years in mountain resort towns in our 20's, and it was a shared dream of ours for many years to own a mountain retreat within a reasonable distance to our home in Orange County. Big Bear Lake has year round activities, and for us is the perfect getaway, any season of the year.
Marianne Sullivan purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Marianne Sullivan chose Moonridge
Ambiance: one of the first reviews we received in our Tree Bear's Hideaway guest book summed it up for us: “Thanks you very much for renting us your beautiful home! We came up with family for a lovely week and we loved it here! We didn't have to leave your home at all because we found so many fun things to do. You have a great property for sledding and snowball fights. We loved the well equipped kitchen which was a joy to cook in. We definitely made some awesome memories, :)! Signed: the Sanchez, Perez and Hernandez families. We love that in the winter, the home is well laid out for a couple of families, with lots to do and space to do it, games, movies, meals and relaxing. In the summer the deck is the place to be, and honestly, the grounds are so like a park, you hardly know there other cabins nearby.” Location! Big Bear is easily accessed from anywhere in the Orange County/LA area. From our home in Fullerton, we can easily be here in 1 1/2 hours. We also love the lower Moonridge neighborhood for it's ease of access in the winter, and close proximity to skiing(you can walk to Bear Mountain, .05 miles); and while it's easy to get to the Lake, we wanted to not be too close to the crowds and congestion that Lake properties can sometimes be subjected to. Our home has parking for 4 cars. There is flat, easy access for two cars. The additional parking is on one those classic Big Bear steep driveways, which can park 3 cards, however it is not helpful to 'low profile' cars. In winter conditions the grade will require 4wd and chains or snow tires. Therefore we recommend car pooling and planning for two vehicles, if possible in winter conditions. Please call us directly if you have any other questions regarding parking.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our yard is a sanctuary. Even the many birds who wake us in the morning with their songs think so! Bring some unsalted peanuts for the Blue Birds, they love them! Buy your favorite brand of coffee, brew up a strong early morning cup and listen to the wind rustle thru the aspens. It's magical. The landscaping is the first sign of the many years of love and care that make Tree Bear's Hideaway a special place for making family memories.

Perfect house for a family
Outstanding location, very clean and amazing kitchen! We will definitely come back!
Thanks for the kind words, so happy you enjoyed your Fall Getaway!
Beautiful Getaway in the Mountains
Very lovely home! It has a beautiful wrap-around deck, very much enjoyed the jacuzzi. The owner is extremely responsive and accommodating!
Large house with extra room
The house was fabulous. There was more than enough room for the 6 adults, two small children, plus the two small dogs. The wrap-around patio was excellent. Great views and wonderful quiet. The neighborhood in the Moonridge area is very quiet. The kitchen was huge with everything we needed to cook a great meal. The house was very well furnished with everything we could ever need. It was very warm/hot during our stay, not normal weather for Big Bear. and we brought several portable oscillating fans just to make sure we had some cooling devices. There is no AC in the house, and usually not needed since the mountains are much cooler. This week the fans helped. The house does come with large oscillating fans and they really helped in the living room and the bedrooms upstairs. In the afternoon the warm weather changed to much cooler weather and the house was very comfortable upstairs in late afternoon and night. With the fans going, the inside temp stayed consistent at about 76 degrees downstairs. The beds were very comfortable, great pillows. and all the linens and towels anyone could need. Marianne (the owner) contacted us before and during our stay, and we knew she was only a text or call away, if we needed her. The BBQ was direct connected to a gas line so no worries about running out of propane. The side yard (just off the kitchen area) was great for the kids and the dogs, they loved to sun themselves during the day. Make sure you bring unsalted peanuts to feed the birds and the squirrels. Fun to watch during the day. Overall, this was one of the better family vacations we have had in many years. Lots of room, a great living room, fabulous kitchen, large dining table, very nice patio outside, nicely maintained hot tub for those evening nights, and comfortable sleeping areas. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Marianne !!
fun family trip!
What a great location next to Big Bear Lake/town. Picnics, games, a visit to the zoo, a concert at the Cave, shopping in downtown and just lots of hang time with the family.
Enough room for our family, enjoyed the jacuzzi and deck in the afternoon. Weather was great so we did lots of fun outdoor activities. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen.
So glad you all had a great stay. Spring get aways are the best!
Adorable and nice sized home for family getaway
