We emigraged to Canada in 1982 from Wales in the U.K. where we farmed. We settled in North Stormont with our two children who continue to farm with us as partners.

ANDREA POWELL purchased this bungalow in 2011

Why ANDREA POWELL chose Morrisburg

We have always liked the Morrisburg area and often come to have brunch and visit the dock, sit awhile to watch the birds, ships and people's activities. When we found this property we fell for its atmosphere and knew we wanted to purchase it. In 2012 we built the bungalow and have enjoyed making it like a second home.

What makes this bungalow unique

We really love the fact that it feels like a little bit of country in a village.

A very relaxing vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing vacation, it was great!!!! When we first walked in there was a beautiful bouquet of french red lilacs on the table, my favorite. It made us feel right at home. The homemade carrot loaf was so delicious, I will have to get Andrea's recipe. The real highlight of our vacation was to see a huge ship go by while we were out taking our dog for a walk, just AWESOME!!!! Thank You again Andrea, Hope to see you again real soon...............

Owner's Response: We were so pleased to meet you and your sweet Odi and happy that you had a relaxing vacation which is what you wanted. It is wonderful to see the big ships pass through and actually there are four ships per day that take this route. The countryside was slow to waking up this year because of so much rain and cooler temperatures but there are plenty of pleasant places to walk along the river paths and there are lovely walking trails as well as biking trails. The dog park is a real favorite too. You were a little early for the ice cream shack but their cones are great. Thank you for staying at Redbush and we look forward to seeing you again

Birthday weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I booked this nice house as a quiet getaway for the May long weekend which is also my wife's birthday. It did not disappoint, the house felt like a home not a rental. The cupcakes and fresh eggs were appreciated and a nice touch. The house is very quiet, despite being in an neighbourhood we never heard a sound from the Neighbours. The town of Morrisburg has a lot going for it and everyone was friendly. This house was exactly what we needed........

Redbush was perfect for our family weekend get away. The home is so well stocked, the kitchen has absolutely everything you can think of! And the front deck was a lovely spot for our morning coffee. We loved it!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. It was a lovely warm weekend for Mother's Day which was lucky for all of us! So pleased that you, your husband and two sons were able to get together to celebrate your special day in Morrisburg, which is within easy travelling distance to many cities. It is a very quiet spot and lovely to sit out on the front deck with a cuppa as you also discovered! Thank you for choosing Redbush.

Owner's Response: Thanks Bob and friends for choosing Redbush for your hunting trip. I guess I need not have been concerned about hosting a group of guys as I found the house immaculate. So if you decide on a return trip I will be happy to have you stay. Thanks again and best wishes.

Lovely stay in Morrisburg.

My bridal party had a great time at Redbush cottage. It was very spacious and beautifully kept. We all felt comfortable here and would stay with Andrea and Brian again in the future.

Redbush is situated in the picturesque village of Morrisburg in scenic South Dundas County. We are just a three minute walk to the dock on the beautiful St. Lawrence where you can launch your boat, fish, dive, watch the ships from a bench or walk your dog in the park. Colourful walking trails, children's playground with splashpad and a public beach, biking trails are close as are Upper Canada Playhouse, an excellent live theatre-a must visit. Come out to Pumkinferno at Upper Canada Village Oct. - Nov. and again for Alight at Night Dec.30-Jan5., Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary, hockey arena,St Lawrence Acustic Stage and antique shops and a large weekly flea market . Several restaraurants in the village.

After your day out come back and cosy up on the sofas with a compimentary hot chocolate with marshmallows and slippers and wrap up in a blanket in front of a glowing electric fire. Chat about your day, play a board game or watch a movie.

Morrisburg is a rural area with farmers markets and pick your own fruit and vegetables in season so come and taste its bounty. The MACINTOSH apple was discovered locally! Come pick your own apples at one of the local orchards.

Lots of fun for all!

There is something to interest all - young and the not so young.
