About Peter Hand
Peter and his wife Rebecca live in Toowoomba. They have seven children, two of whom are students living with them. They have two grandsons living in Melbourne and a granddaughter in Sydney. Peter grew up in Tasmania and has lived in Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, pursuing his career, before settling in Toowoomba with Rebecca 18 years ago. He has travelled widely and lived in London for a time. Rebecca was born in England and came to Australia in 1966 with her parents who settled in Adelaide. She subsequently moved to Brisbane where she met and married Peter. Peter is now retired, but is very active managing the family home and their rental properties, as well as being involved in community activities
Peter Hand purchased this Apartment in 2016
Why Peter Hand chose Brisbane Central Business District
Peter and Rebecca bought this property and two adjoining units because of the fantastic views and extremely convenient location. They had in mind the possibility that they might move to Brisbane later on and the units are well placed to access education, services, recreation and entertainment, travel and work. In the meantime, they have been able to rent the properties out.
What makes this Apartment unique
The views and location of the property caught their imagination. They have continued to enjoy relaxing in the units whenever they stay in them. Night time views can be particularly outstanding, especially during events involving fireworks displays

What a view
We loved this studio apartment. The view from the 24th floor is fantastic, look straight over the Brisbane river and over to Southbank. The owner Alan, was easy to deal with and very good on communication. The apartment itself was clean and well maintained, great value for the price we paid, the bed was huge and very comfortable, The only negative would be some better towels, otherwise really nothing to complain about. Entry to the apartment block was easy, and their was no noise from other apartments or people coming home late. Everything was well stocked, somehow we had 2 x soy milk in the fridge, I think that was a mistake, and we bought some real milk when we went out. All in all a great place to stay, and so convenient to the city, Suncorp Stadium, Roma street Station, and a short walk across the bridge to Southbank.
I appreciate Fiona's comments and have made a note of her observations about towels and milk. There has been a change of cleaner which might be behind these shortfalls. The standard provision of towels is one bath towel, one hand towel and on face washer per guest with the towels to be good quality. The provision of milk is normally one full milk, one light milk and one soy milk.
Lovely apartment with a spectacular view
Very nice apartment, all good amenities, just a shame that you cannot cook anything, the apartment has a microwave but no hob,cooking or cleaning facilities
I appreciate the feedback about cooking. Because of the sensitivity of the fire alarm system, the studio apartment is not suitable for cooking. This has generally not been an issue for guests, but I acknowledge that it would be more significant for longer stay guests such as Elizabeth who stayed 12 nights. I will be careful to alert people staying for longer periods about the inability to cook in the apartment.
Great place to say close to everything and peter was great!
Would definitely come back and recommend to others. Enjoyed my stay!
Good priced accommodation in Brisbane CBD
This unit was as described, a one room apartment on the top of the Regis Building. The views were incredible so waking every morning to look out over the activities on the river was interesting and intriguing. The apartment was conveniently located near 2 supermarkets and we ate at many local pubs. Bicycles were available close by and any activities that we went on were all walking distance. Can recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Brisbane city.
Great view and excellent value.
Great view and excellent value.
ok for overnight stay
The room was the right price for a one to two night stay.
There is no parking for this property and there is only one room key.
The observations about parking and room keys are acknowledged. The room price that has been set reflects the fact that onsite parking is not available for this unit. The hotel operating in the building charges its guests $30 per night for parking on top of a substantially higher room rate for comparable accommodation.
The provision of only one key results from the limit imposed by the body corporate on the number of keys that can be approved for each unit. I endeavour to help guests work around problems that might arise from their having only one key.
The location of the unit is ideal for accessing the many highlights of Brisbane City life which are within easy walking distance or a short drive away. These include:
Queen Street Mall in the heart of the CBD and excellent city centre shopping and restaurants;
Southbank and its waterpark and excellent nearby restaurants;
the Wheel of Brisbane;
The Performing Arts Centre;
Queensland Museum and Science Centre;
Queensland Art Gallery;
Gallery of Modern Art;
City Botanic Gardens;
Roma Street Parklands;
City Hall and Museum of Brisbane.
Major banks, businesses, law courts, government buildings, Parliament House and the Queensland University of Technology are all within reasonable walking distance of the unit.
Regular ferry services up and down river offer a pleasant and relaxing way to see and visit the many attractions and points of interest along the Brisbane River.
The unit is less than five minutes away from the Brisbane Transit Centre. There is a regular train service throughout the day between the Transit Centre and Brisbane Airport.. There are also train and bus services to destinations throughout Queensland. Of particular note is the train service to the Gold Coast with its renowned beaches, theme parks and many other attractions. There are also train and bus services to North Queensland, Central Queensland and the Sunshine Coast as well as inland to Western and Far Western Queensland
