Stunning getaway!

We recently had a relaxing stay at this beautifully updated, immaculate home south of Santa Fe. We rented both the main house (two bedrooms) and the guest house (bedroom, bath, mini kitchen). The combination ended up being perfect for our family with teenagers. My husband and I actually took the guest house, which had an amazing glass shower, and let the teens stay up late in the "big house." They are so close they are practically, connected, We all had some privacy, which was terrific. The TV in main house was modern with all the hookups they wanted for videogames late into the night. The beds were brilliant for sleeping in during the cool New Mexico mornings!

My favorite feature was by far the beautiful patios with landscaping and incredible views. The hummingbirds were friendly and enjoyed feeding in pots and plants and playing in the pond. We also had daily bunny sitings and spied a few deer. We also had fun exploring the property and hiking nearby.

The property is 15-20 minutes from town (at least in our sedan), but it is a very easy drive once you get down the mountain, it is a straight shot to city center. You have several miles on country roads that were a little rough on our small vehicle. A SUV or 4-Wheel drive would be more suitable (as is advertised). We enjoyed being outside of town for the most part. We spent afternoons in town taking advantage of the many things to enjoy and then cooked/grilled at night and enjoyed the amazing view, property, and quaint eating area in the house. The other drawback was that drought conditions resulted in cautions and notes about begging us not to use too much water (e.g. the tub), as well as to conserve A/C and wifi. All reasonable for a mountain property but you have to slip out of your luxury hotel mindset.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your very kind comments and so glad you enjoyed the home. To shed light for the readers, at the time of this booking Santa Fe had been in an 8 month drought. So added to check in notes were to be mindful of water use encouraging showers, not baths to conserve water during the drought season. Not sure what the comment was about conserving the a/c as unfamiliar with that? Certainly fine to use the A/C but check in notes indicate the evenings drop to the 50's and eve 40's so to enjoy the fresh mountain air. PLease do come see us again and sorry you missed the rains and 25 degree cool down after you left. Finally rain came back to Santa Fe for the Summer MOnsoons that last about 30 minutes to an hour in the afternoon.

A wonderful, clean, and quiet property!!!

We have now rented two properties from Francis and both have been great but I think this one takes the cake! This is an amazing property with everything you need including peace and quiet. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including enchiladas waiting for us in the fridge!!!

You will not be disappointed with this property, we will definitely be returning!!!

We had a wonderful stay in Santa Fe in this home. We were painting by day and enjoy d the tranquility each event by. The gardens were lovely. Everything was in order and charming and we arrived to enchiladas in the frig ready for dinner! Just be sure to come in a 4 wheel drive as this is a hidden gem off the main road. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our Spring Break in this beautiful and secluded home. The owner even had a tray of food prepared for us ,as we checked in very late . The garden was about to bloom with Spring flowers ,and we were sad we missed it !

Fantastic Place!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home - plenty of space for all of us! Well cared for home with all the amenities you need to feel comfortable. The house was far enough off the beaten path to have privacy and wonderful views, but a quick drive into town for whatever you needed. Francis made everything easy for us and the enchiladas were delicious (and really helpful for the day we got there - what a nice surprise!) We'd definitely come back!

Casita offered great bonus space for family travel.

Lovely home perfect for travel with extended family. My father-in-law made good use of the adjacent casita. Excellent design layout with both areas opening to courtyard, all have equal views and access.

Home was well appointed, included daily conveniences with hospitable bonus of enchiladas upon arrival. Location great for star gazing and terrain experience, yet an easy 15 minute drive to the bustle of downtown Santa Fe and all its offerings. Quick access to Hwy 25 leading to ancillary hiking locations such as Tent Rocks and Bandelier. Recommend Cafe Fina for fresh, quick, and local brunch as you head out for the days activities.

Would book again but in late spring through early fall to enjoy the house courtyard in full bloom.
