Lovely peaceful setting..
Accommodation was delightful, very comfortable and relaxing. Wish we could stay longer.
A wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Geebung room. It was well appointed and had everything we needed to make our time there special. It was made even better by being dog friendly.
Bowral/ Burradoo is a delightful part of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. It has many country attractions. Surrounded by beautiful scenery whether it be autumn, spring or winter one never stops admiring its beauty of ghost gums, bulbs and blossums
About Annie Thomas
I was born 1948 the middle child of seven children We grew up in Strathfield until I was 12 years of age. As children we always had atttachments to country life encouraged by our parents who had lived in the country of New South Wales during their youth and beyond. Today three of us have chosen country areas to live in. We enjoy small communities. One of my brothers lives in Maleny Queenslandon property breeding polo ponies with a polo field used by locals a couple of days a week.
Annie Thomas purchased this Studio in 2008
Why Annie Thomas chose Burradoo
Southern Highlands always appealed to us from the climate, country charm and close proximity to many locations. We fell in love with this property and managed to purchase Clubbe Cottage in 2007 as a place for us to with four children and their families to visit and enjoy during holidays and weekends. Also, with the view to one day making the wing available to have guests stay in the completely self contained accommodation atmosphere. The property is part of land which was donated to the local community by the Throsby family for a recreational area in the late 1890's. Their where five substantial club houses built at this time. The main reception house presently resides and is used as the main reception building at Chevalier College which is 100 metres away. Clubbe Collage the next largest was used as the Polo Club house with the polo fields across the road. Another house was for tennis club house, another for archery and another as cricket club house. The area was originally opened by Lord Jersey from London. Jersey Road, Woollahra being called after hime to name one, We have a copy of this information in a folder in the accommodaqtion for guests interested. Clubbe Cottage over the years has had many notable charostmatic characters own and reside here which gives it a wonderful and presence.
What makes this Studio unique
All my life my desire for a home was to live in an older style house with wide veranda's circular drive flat block leafy quiet and private. We were just so fortunate to come across Clubbe Cottage built in 1890 became our dream home in 2007 which qualified all our desires for a house to become a home for family of four children and their families. We all have lots of good times here playing croquet on front lawn is a must with every time they come to stay. Being on a corner block makes it feel very open lots of space to enjoy the many entertaining areas.
