Celebrating 100+ years...This 1914 'Four Square' home is located in the historic Cheesman Park neighborhood, adjacent to the Capitol Hill neighborhood. In 2002, a Denver architect purchased the building and spent $475,000 restoring it to two single-family attached homes. The renovation project garnered a 2006 Restoration for Living Award from Historic Denver. Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial influences, Art Nouveau stained glass, and a turn-of-the-century reproduction fireplace from England are just a few of this home's architectural features.

This superbly renovated and immaculately maintained home is centrally located and close to all that Denver has to offer. Numerous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores (King Soopers, Whole Foods and Safeway) are within walking distance. Four blocks away from historic Cheesman Park, where you can enjoy its walking/jogging/biking paths, flower beds, pavilion, picnic tables, playground, and scenic views. Cheesman Park and the neighborhood around it abound with history that goes back to the founding of Denver City, as Denver was named in 1859.

The home consists of three levels:

MAIN LEVEL — Living room with gas fireplace and Sony 55-inch HDTV w/DirecTV, kitchen, dining room and powder room. The kitchen is fully equipped for a simple meal or gourmet dinner. High-end appliances, outdoor natural gas grill, and dining room directly off the kitchen seats 2-6 people.

UPSTAIRS — Master suite with king-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, balcony, luxurious bathroom and walk-in closet.

DOWNSTAIRS — Second bedroom with queen-size bed, dresser, Sony 50-inch flat-screen HDTV w/DirecTV, desk with ergonomic chair, full bathroom and washer/dryer.

This home offers several great spots to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon or evening. In addition to the balcony off the master suite, there is a covered porch and walled courtyard. Grab a book, your favorite beverage and enjoy being in one of Denver's best neighborhoods. In the spring and summer, the courtyard is a great place for morning coffee, lunch, or a backyard BBQ. The courtyard includes an outdoor dining table with seating for six people, and a natural gas grill. The front of the house faces west so you can watch the sunset every night from either the front porch or balcony. Beautiful Home, Thoughtful Host, Great Location!

What a wonderful trip. From booking to departure, the process was hassle free. The host was so thoughtful. Thinking of his guest, luggage racks to hold our suitcases, but plenty of room in the closest and drawers to make ourselves at home. Make-up remover in the bathrooms, a couple of laundry pods just in case you need to do a load of laundry, coffee for our first day, not to mention a welcome card and chocolates. I travel frequently, and stay at several rentals, and this was by far above and top-notch. House was clean and more than ready for guest. I had no issues with booking, entry and checkout was a breeze. Location was wonderful, walked to a coffee shop down the street as well as the grocery store on the corner. Loved sitting on the porch with a glass of wine and enjoying the quiet neighboorhood. Easy access to downtown and the convention center. Craig was very helpful and was available to answer questions if we needed anything. This is the only place I'll be staying when I travel to Denver again. Just hoping its available :)

Great Location

What a wonderful location and house. We were visiting Denver for appointments at the National Jewish Medical Center. The owner's were super flexible with us and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. It made traveling so much easier. This was a great alternative to staying in a hotel for a week. The home is very well maintained. I loved that they had pumpkins on the porch too! The neighborhood is walk-able and super charming. The grocery store and coffee houses are very convenient. Would highly recommend staying here!

Capital Hill Charmer

The moment you walk through the door, you know this place is special. The location of the property is great. You"re within walking distance to many of Denver"s fine restaurants and parks, shopping and museums. The garage is large enough for two cars and the back courtyard is a great place to chill with a glass of wine. Everything has that extra attention to detail. From the well equiped kitchen, any seasoned cook would be happy cooking in. To the bathrooms with the dispensers of soap, shampoo and conditioner. The bedrooms are lovely with quality linens on the beds and large flat screen televisions to watch from the comfort of your bed. The gas firplace in the living room is quite cozy on a chilly Colorado day or evening.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone that wants a place that is conviently located and overall lovely.

a 5 star mile high experience

I have been in the travel business 39 years and stay at resorts and accommodations all over the world. I would rate this in my top 10. Beautiful home, period restoration is perfection. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked with everything you need for lovely meals. HUGE attention to details that make you feel welcome like entry way pumpkins/gourds/pinecones , detailed SIMPLE information on how to run all electronics, faux candles on the mantle, and a jack-o-lantern filled with treats! Probably the most wonderful addition is oversized 2 car garage ! Downtown parking in Denver is terrible and this a very rare find. PERFECT STAY!

Couldn't ask for more!

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful unit, and everything was just perfect! Trust your eyes when you look over the photos in the listing. And, all of the descriptions of the amenities are spot on. If you like what you read and see, you'll be happy here.

The location is ideal to get to almost anywhere in the city within minutes. We didn't have a car but Uber was always there within two to three minutes. A large supermarket is a two-minute walk away and is located on the next block. And wine delivery (by Internet) within thirty minutes. Colorado has some unusual liquor laws, and the supermarket cannot sell wine. However, with a little Internet searching, you can get wine delivered before you even have your food prepared for the table.

The Botanic Garden guest pass provided by Missy was a big plus. Not only did we enjoy free admission to the gardens, but we also got a discount at the gift shop! Don't miss out on this neighborhood gem--even if you can only visit for a few hours.

We would definitely recommend a stay of any length at this great property. Just please don't ever take the dates we want.
