About this property

Tranquil And Secluded Cabin On 326 Acres With Mountain Views ~ AMAZING!

Located only 30 minutes from two colleges, Virginia Military Institute, and Washington and Lee, as well as the Virginia Equestrian Center.

Enjoy fishing from the deck just out the front door or hiking in the Little North Mountain Wildlife Management Area consisting of 56,000 acres where wildlife abounds. There are convenient trail heads nearby for as much hiking as you desire.
At the Mountain Pond House we have recently acquired some additional trails for our guests who are hiking enthusiasts. The trails are through some of the most pristine forests of Virginia and consist of an additional 5 miles of hiking on the premises; bring your camera.

Conveniently located between Staunton and Lexington and about 45 minutes from the Omni Homestead Resort and the Sam Snead Golf Course.

The cabin has a master bedroom with a queen bed, a loft upstairs with one twin bed and one queen bed, moderately sized family seating area, kitchen with table that seats six and two stools at a kitchen bar, one full bath with shower and a half bathroom off the kitchen.

Covered parking as well as a covered seating area outside the front entrance. A fire pit is located outside for wood fires and grilling. There are approximately two miles of private walking trails for walking and enjoying wildlife. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trails, this is necessary to protect wildlife, the hay fields, and your safety. Please confine motorized vehicles to the pond house road.

The spring fed pond is stocked with large mouth bass, perch, and catfish. Bring your fishing gear. Fishing is catch and release only.

After numerous inquiries we added cable internet and TV on 3 August 2020 to make your stay a more pleasant experience. Rockbridge County increased the lodging tax by 3% beginning 1 August 2020 and our fees were increased by $5.00 per day to cover these increased costs.

Please bring your own provisions. The nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away and there is no fast food delivery here, we are too far out of the way. There is a Kroger, Food Lion, and Walmart in Lexington and it is recommended you stop there for any grocery needs prior to your arrival. The kitchen contains most utensils and cooking items to include a k-cup coffee maker but please bring your own coffee.

Why they chose this property

The peace and quiet with the unique views of nature are very unique.

What makes this property unique

Most of our guests are return renters many of which enjoy the fishing. If you like fishing for bass and perch it just does not get any better. Walk out on the deck or pier to fish and walk back into the comfort of the cabin as you desire. The combination of fishing with all the modern amenities readily accessible is what makes this cabin appeal to the anglers.
