About the property

Two Bedroom One Bath Cottage On 250 Acre Cattle Farm.

The Carriage House at Woodhaven Farm is an immaculate, quaint and cozy cottage, beautifully furnished with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living area, a fully equipped kitchen and a view of the Blue Ridge.

Woodhaven Farm is a working farm, located in Scottsville, Virginia, producing 100% grass fed beef. Surrounded by rolling meadows and woodlands, the farm is quiet and wonderfully isolated yet close to many of the attractions that make Virginia a desirable place to visit. Stay on the farm and enjoy canoeing/kayaking on the James River and hiking, or use it as a base for visiting historic Scottsville, the University of Virginia, the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tour central Virginia's wine country or delve into America's history at Revolutionary and Civil War battle sites. The homes of three early American presidents, Jefferson, Monroe and Madison, are within an easy hour's drive.

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful long weekend at this place. It is very quiet and relaxing home, but also very accessible to many attractions. Tom and Celia are very nice people and take great care of the place. We would not hesitate to come back!

Peaceful Settings

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed in two of the properties hosted by a wonderful couple who owns them. Virginia is a beautiful state and our stay in these two properties provided the opportunity to take it all in. Food and wine is just a small drive away. There are restaurants and sites to go to, but we decided to enjoy the properties. Just sitting on a rocking chair by the porch with a glass of wine was good enough for us.

Thank You

Memories of grandpa's farm

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic getaway for our family! The landscape is gorgeous, and the hiking trails, pond, cattle, chickens, horses, and especially dogs provided plenty of entertainment for the little ones. Their property was perfect for exploring with kids and pup. Tom and Alicia were gracious hosts, and gave us lots of tips on dining and shopping in the surrounding area. The rental was cozy, but well-appointed and perfect for a short stay. We especially enjoyed eating outdoors, looking over the rolling hills and woodland. Would highly recommend this or one of their other properties.

A welcoming change!

  • 5 of 5

Our family holiday tradition is to take a road trip, north of balmy South FL, to reconnect with nature. This trip was one of those unforgettable experiences for our family and one worth the repeat! Tom and Alicia did such an amazing job at making our family welcomed and feel at home that our children asked to give them a gift. What do you give a couple that already has everything? Home-baked, cookie dough brownies, of course!

We highly recommend you stay at Woodhaven Farm. It is in the loveliest of settings, amongst the loveliest of people. We stayed at the Carriage House and it was perfect. We will return for a stay at the Old Peddler's House!

Thank you, Tom and Alicia, for allowing us to stay on your property, for allowing our children to take part of your morning routine - feeding the horses & collecting fresh eggs! (YUMS!!!) No one wanted to leave and we all can't wait to return - that goes for our 4-legged human too!
