About Jade Stevenson
The Stevenson family purchased this property in 2003 and have enjoyed large events with family and friends gathering for the last decade. Only recently have they decided to open this very unique property up for rental to clients seeking luxury accommodations in a tranquil and private setting.
Jade Stevenson purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2003
Why Jade Stevenson chose Les Laurentides Regional County Municipality
This is a most unique property in the Laurentian Mountains of Northern Quebec. The 230 acre domaine is a four-season playground packed with features and opportunities for endless adventures and exploration.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
The grounds are impeccable boasting many varieties of plants and trees and wildlife. Whether you plan to sit under a tree and read a book, fly fish for trout, or play a competitive game of beach volleyball with friends, this is the ideal location. The two private lakes offer the option to go kayaking or canoeing, fishing or swimming (non-motorized only) or just lazing around on the docks. The massive fire pits at the lakes offer the opportunity to gather large groups around a blazing fire in the quiet and serenity of the Laurentian outdoors. Families of white-tailed deer have also made their home at La Forêt Stevenson and are curious to meet new visitors to the property. For those explorers who visit la forêt there are endless places to discover, including ancient caves and challenging cliffs.

Great Thanksgiving getaway location
The property was magical and the lovely weather allowed us to use the grounds as well as the interior spaces. The property was just like the pictures. Linens and furniture were top notch and the property is very well appointed. Our extended family Thanksgiving highlight was a large family dinner in the huge dining room with a toasty fire in the stone fireplace,. It was magical and will be a very special memory.
Some parts of the house needed attention - a broken oven door and some sticky bathroom doors, otherwise everything was great. Wished we could have stayed longer!
The house was beautiful with everything you could possibly need. The property is spectacular with something for every age
We had a fantastic stay! We were a large group of friends and there was more than enough space and lots of activities. The volleyball court in particular was great. The chalet was clean, the beds were very comfortable and the owners were very attentive and made check in extremely easy. Overall I highly recommend staying here if you are a large group.
Beautiful property except...
The property is beautiful. We were 8 adults and 8 children. The grounds were very nice and the interior of the chalet was very quarky but it has everything you need except air conditioning. Well equipped kitchen with lots of extras like spices and coffee, they had plenty of towels and games for the outdoors as well as indoors. The lakes are absolutely beautiful and had nice docks and kayaks, canoes, life jackets were provided although not enough for all the kids( we had brought for them) but really nice.
Only two inconveniences, the first being that the two magnificent lakes are shared with another chalet at the top of mountain, we were very lucky that no one was staying at the second one because seeing as we were already 16 people it could have been an issue sharing a dock with more people. I was only told that the « private lakes » were private to the property, not the chalet on the last email I received about 2 hours before check in. Fortunately this was not an issue on our stay.
The second issue was really a problem as we were staying there the last week of July and it was hot! They provided fans in most of the rooms but it was not enough to cool down the upstairs bedrooms. Temperatures were in the 29 to 32 degrees Celsius in some of the bedrooms, which was really uncomfortable to sleep. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was incredibly hot! It really was the only thing missing at this chalet.
All in all everyone really enjoyed it and it really is a beautiful place if you want to spend time on the lake, swimming, canoeing, sitting by the fire and playing all sorts of sports and games with the group. Well equipped, nice rustic yet contemporary decor that still feels like a chalet and not just a house. We all would love to go back , maybe just not in the peak of summer ( but really just for the sleeping) because the rest is fabulous and we would still highly recommend!
Just a foot note, there was a guy there named Luc, who was taking care of the grounds, he was very nice and came to see if we needed anything (although he could not provide more fans, lol) but he was really taking good care of the infrastructure (roads, branches etc) and gave us some great info about the property and some of its history. I thought it was great for the owners to have someone like Luc who really seemed to take his job to heart!
Beautiful place and great memories for us and the kids!
Perfect for a corporate outing
The property was amazing. It offered our group the privacy we wanted, as well as all the amenities we could wish for. Thanks for a great time.
Second time is even better
Our extended family of 14 gathered for a week, as we had three years ago. The two days of rain were actually welcome, allowing us to explore countless indoor activities and providing additional chances for interaction. The property is impeccably maintained and there are new and improved amenities. Dealing with the owners and the manager was in fact a pleasure, as they are instant in their response and genuinely involved in making your stay perfect. And that's exactly how ours was.
The picturesque charm of the resort and the neighbouring villages, the diversity and the modernity of its sporting and leisure installations, the quality of its lodging, the sophistication of its gastronomy, the savoir-faire of its artisans: everything leads to imperishable memories!
Your hosts will welcome you in a joyful atmosphere and contagious joie de vivre proper to quebec. Here, we’re used to say: “visitors are members of the family!”
