Delightful cottage, perfect for two
Couldn't fault it - beautifully presented little apartment, with everything you could want, including provisions for a light meal and breakfast. Lovely shower room, comfortable bed, quiet location in one of my favourite small towns. Hope to go back sometime.
Lovely stay in a fantastic town
The apartment was perfect for our three night stay, everything we needed and very comfortable.
The hosts were very welcoming and so generous with the thoughtful items they provided for breakfast.
Lewes is a great town for a short or long visit - nice shops and cafes, a fantastic cinema and great pubs. Lewes is ideally located for day trips to Beachy Head and Brighton.
Will come again! Thank you
Lovely hide-away with town and country on the doorstep
The flat is the downstairs part of a small house, and is split into a sitting room (with fold-down single bed), kitchen, bedroom, shower and a tiny patio. It's tastefully decorated, reasonably equipped (TV, WiFi, radio, fridge, two ring hob, microwave, and halogen oven) and surprisingly quiet, mainly because South Street is a cul-de-sac. Walk 5 minutes and you are at the start of Cliffe High Street with it's antiques shops, and the start of a lane leading directly up (and I mean up!) onto the Downs. We stayed with our dog, and it was perfect for impromptu walks along the river or across the hills. There are 3 supermarkets within 15 mins (Tesco, Waitrose & Aldi), and a lovely pub a stone's throw down the road (the Snowdrop Inn). Peter, our host, was very helpful - thanks Peter, you made us feel very welcome.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Comfortable appartment, delightful courtyard and great location.
Lovely flat, excellent location
Very well-designed and well-organised ground floor flat. A pleasure to stay there.
Modern inside, traditional outside, clean and comfortable, within walking distance to town centre
Owners were delightful and very helpful. There is a very small patio garden which manages to catch the sun most of the day.. brand new equipment and fixtures and fittings ticked the right boxes.
Nestling in the heart of the South Downs National Park in this beautiful and lively town. Walk the Chalk Hills, chat to friendly locals in the many traditional pubs, sipping real ale from Lewes’ own brewery, Harveys. Local golf course within walking distance. The town is steeped in history from Virginia Woolf to Tom Paine to our Medieval Castle. Lewes is one of the original Transition Towns and our November Fire Celebration is world famous (youtube it) Swim in the outside public pool, spring fed, first in England. Take the train to the beaches and great shopping Laines of Brighton (10min) into the centre of London (1hr) a day trip to France.
