Overview

Photos and Description of this Galway holiday barn

Large apartment in stone barn conversion, 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4, 2 bathrooms

This unique holiday accommodation offers a combination of contemporary and vernacular features and furnishings. It is bright, cozy, comfortable and spacious. On the first floor is a large open-plan living space, with a lovely restored French antique stove. Free WIFI, cable television and DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area can seat six. A patin door leads out to a small deck and at the garden. Also to be found on this floor is a large double bedroom and shower room.

The second bedroom is located on the ground floor. This room can be offered as either a twin bedroom or a double bedroom - depending on the the guests requirements. This bedroom has a large shower room en-suite.

There is a laundry room facility available in the barn with a washing machine and dryer.

Letteragh House and its barn are surrounded by typical West of Ireland small fields, stone walls and beautiful trees. The property offers a very quiet and private location to guests.

The owners who live in Letteragh House (adjacent to the barn) - would be very pleased to assist guests with any questions or bookings they would like to make.

The Swallow Loft has been featured in the September 2013 issue of 'Ireland's Homes and Interiors'.

wonderful, remote, scenic and yet 5 minutes from the heart of Galway!!

  • 5 of 5

My buddy, my daughter and myself stayed here for 5 days and it was beyond perfect.

Peggy and Tony were wonderful and the place was ideal. Quiet and a great piece of property and yet extremely convenient to Galway or for Wild Atlantic way drives!!

Delightful place! Highly recommended.

  • 5 of 5

We rented the stone barn apartment for 4 nights in late September - two couples. This is a beautiful property, very nicely appointed and very comfortable. There is a bedroom downstairs (entry level) with an ensuite bath and two twin beds; upstairs is the second bedroom with queen bed, with bath across the hall and a nice kitchen and living room. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfortable with nice linens, plenty of bath towels - we didn't need to bring anything. The grounds are lovely with a nice garden and sitting area off the living room/kitchen. The place is a little difficult to find - follow the directions precisely - and it is on a one-lane two-way road, which is always challenging! Peggy handled all reservation and payment details swiftly and efficiently and responded promptly to my questions prior to our arrival. She greeted us on arrival to show us around and was available for questions or recommendations throughout the stay. This would be a great rental for a couple with two kids, and we also enjoyed it for two couples. I thought it was very fairly priced. Thanks, Peggy.

Enjoyed this wonderful remodeled barn so close to town

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Old Stone Barn apartment so very much. We were close to town but felt we were really in the countryside. The home was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Peggy had lots of travel information available that proved quite helpful as this home was our home base for almost a week. We were staying with another couple, and having the bedrooms on two different floors was great for early risers. You cannot go wrong using this home as part of your Ireland experience.

Wonderful Stay at the Swallow Loft

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Peggy & Tony's Swallow Loft. The accommodations were great, the loft had everything you could need. It was nice having a separate ensuite, comfortable sitting area and well stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable too. Also included was use of a washer & dryer which was nice. Peggy was very friendly! (Never spoke with Tony!) It was a very peaceful and beautiful area...but beware, the road was vey narrow :) I definitely recommend the Swallow Loft. Thanks for an enjoyable time in Galway!

Lovely and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely and spacious. A short distance from town so we felt a car was necessary. Close to a shopping center- you could walk if you wanted. Comfortable beds. Great access to wifi. A nice place to come home to at the end of a day of touring or for hanging out on a rainy day! We probably didn't take enough advantage of our hosts local knowledge- but loved staying here for our Galway visit! Thanks Peggy and Tony!
