About the property

This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin on the lake. Can walk to the YMCA camp. It is on the main channel. It is close to the bat caves, the fireworks, and Guntersville Dam. This property is back in the woods. A real 'Uncle Buck' Summer camp feel. Trees everywhere! Awesome ride back. Serine. 50' off the pier it is 10' deep water. There is an ancient Indian trading trial across the cove that is amazing for hiking. Also an ancient grave yard. The trial goes all the way to the Dam. The inside of the cabin is remodeled to a rustic tone with a lot of cedar (smell!) I have a 42' plasma for TV. Satellite Internet. Cell phone service varies from carrier to carrier. Cove is smooth for skiing or inter-tubing. Area is great for fishing. Great for Canoeing. Canoes, kayaks, and paddle boat are 'RENT FREE'. There is is an air mattress to accommodate 2 more. Washer and Dryer. Big deck on the back. 2 grills, gas and charcoal. Hardwoods and tile. No carpet. Great neighbors. Plenty of parking. 2 fire pits! About Shannon Provence

41 years old . Married with 2 kids

Shannon Provence purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Shannon Provence chose Guntersville

This property is a true summer camp (woodsy) type deal. It is close enough to town (10 min), if you want McDonald's but it is in the woods away from it all. The YMCA camp is neighboring. Most homes are summer cottages. If you want to escape. Here it !

What makes this cabin unique

Serine, in the woods! I provide use of canoe's, paddle boat, and kayaks with property!!! See pics! Somewhat remote but close enough to restaurants. Bat caves, Trails, ancient grave yard, great neighbors, plenty of parking, smooth water.

Very peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. The setting was very tranquil. The winding road to the cabin was scenic and made you really feel away from it all! We would definitely rent again. Made me really want to buy my own cabin on the lake!!!

Charming, peaceful, relaxing and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Quiet cove, amazing sitting on the boathouse deck drinking coffee in the morning. Very peaceful. Charming decor and the house is very comfortable. Good "satellite" internet, we had no cell service with AT&T. If you use the county boat ramp on ChaLaKee Rd. Only open Mon-Thurs. Everything you need is at the cabin! Shannon is very helpful and nice!

The house needs a deep cleaning and is very stuffy.

  • 3 of 5

The property is beautiful and we appreciated the use of the canoes and paddle boat, but the house was not what I expected. It could use a good deep cleaning, especially the couches. The house is also extremely stuffy and feels damp, but maybe that's common of lakehouses? It could be a great lake house if these things are addressed. At this point I feel it's a bit overpriced.

Owner's Response: This is the first negative remark out of 100. I reached out to her to try to make her happy twice. No reply. The cabin is actually very clean as several other reviews confirm. It is a small cabin. If she thinks its stuffy I can't do much about that. Sorry for your unhappiness. Shannon

Quiet house on a cove

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabin in the Lake, especially the beautiful covered dock. We loved fishing from the dock and caught a total of 7 fish (I think all bluegill) in the four days that we were there. Even on a rainy day, the dock was fully protected and we enjoyed time out there. It was great to have use of the peddle boat and canoes, and the house was equipped with life jackets to safely take them out with kids. We didn't swim off of the dock, but found a beach nearby close to the Guntersville Rec Center. We also drove to Lake Guntersville State Park for some hiking one morning. The house is well off the main road, so it was about a 15 minute drive for dinner or groceries- and that allowed it to have a really nice, quiet appeal. The house is clean and very comfortable.
