About Susan St. Louis
I grew up in a small town in Connecticut, and married my college sweetheart, who is a doctor. We raised three girls, homeschooled them, coached youth soccer, and now spend our time studying languages, cooking meals for friends, trying to stay fit, and volunteering for medical missionary trips whenever possible. We have used VRBO properties many times, ourselves, and we find it a much better way to travel than to stay in hotels. We hope you will enjoy staying in our beautiful new Palm Springs casa.
Susan St. Louis purchased this House in 2013
Why Susan St. Louis chose Warm Sands
Casa de Colores (House of Colors) has been lovingly decorated with all new furniture, beautiful art and accessories in the colors of the desert to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable and unforgettable. Each bedroom has its own outside door, with high quality wooden shutters that completely darken the rooms when fully closed. All linens and towels are new, and will be regularly replaced as needed, to ensure comfort and satisfaction. The living room opens onto the front courtyard, with its mountain views, and allows you to 'bring the outdoors in with you.' The game table in the living room nook will lure you to find out who has the best poker face. Full sets of dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils and basic supplies will provide you with all the things you'll need to cook as much or as little as you desire. The pool and spa will draw you to spend time in the back yard, but you will also have three separate lounging and eating areas there in which to spend your time. Whether you are one couple, a large family or 2 or 3 couples vacationing together, you will never lack for comfortable, private places to sit and talk. We want this house to be the best place you've ever vacationed in, and we will continue to try to make it worthy of that label.
What makes this House unique
When we saw this house we fell in love with the quality of the construction, and the wonderful architectural elements like the round windows in the front entryway and master bath, the foyer tower, the arched entryway and front door, the colored tile floors throughout, and the exquisite wooden beams and cathedral ceiling in the living room. We also really liked that each bedroom has its own bath and exterior door. And many of the attractions of downtown Palm Springs are within a short walk!

Comfortable great location
This home is comfortable with a great view of the mountains. It is in a good location for touring around the entire region. The neighborhood is quiet. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
Thanks, Bill. I was very happy to have you stay in our house. Please come again!
Paradise in Palm Springs
My friends and I spent a week in this beautiful house. The owner was great, the house and pool were perfect. Excellent location and easy walk to Townie Bagels and downtown Palm Springs. We are already planning our return visit!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks, Marc! I'm so glad that you and your old friends enjoyed your week at my house in Palm Springs. I'll be very happy to host you all again!
Great location. Well appointed.
Great host. Comfortable, spacious house. Good location.
Our host was very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with a bowl of fresh grapefruit from her tree which was lovely. There was lots of space to spread out. Great pool and a clean, comfortable home. We enjoyed our week here.
Very comfortable home
This was our second stay at Casa de Colores. The location is very good, and the home is spacious and has a lovely outdoor space. Susan is very good to deal with...she responds quickly and is very fair.
Thanks, Deborah. It was nice to meet the whole family this time! I hope you'll all come back again.
The secret is out!
We so enjoyed our stay at Casa de Colores, and by that I mean all 6 of us. I rented the house for 2 weeks. The first 5 days, I invited my 2 friends to stay with me. Upon entering Casa de Colores we immediately felt at home, it is so warm and inviting. Each of us had our own room and bath and plenty of closet space. We all agreed the mattresses are very comfy and helped us recharge for the next day! We couldn’t have asked for anything more! It was so fun to share PS with them during the day knowing the toasty hot tub was waiting for us each night. After my friends left my hubby, my brother and sis-in-law came down. They fell in love with the house too! As a matter of fact my husband did not want me to review Casa de Colores as he is afraid to let this secret gem be known! We have rented many VRBO homes through the years and we feel this is one of the best! PS. This house would be great for families too as there are not a lot of low breakables around and there is a fenced area in front yard to play!
Thanks, Teena! Your group was great, and I appreciate your kind words in your review. Please do come back again!
Most people come to Palm Springs for the unique combination of outdoors living, recreational activities, and cultural richness to be found here. From the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert, which draws top music and comedy performers due to our proximity to Los Angeles, to the lively arts community, to the hundreds of golf courses, tennis courts, and country clubs to be found in the Coachella Valley, we are certain that Palm Springs has something for everyone. And the many events that occur each year in our valley draw interest from around the nation and even the world - the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals, the BNP Paribas Tennis tournament, the Humana Challenge and Kraft Nabisco golf tournaments, the White Party, the Palm Springs Film Festival, the Tour de Palm Springs bicycle event, and many more. But in addition to all of that, if you want to vacation in a place where you can simply rest, sunbathe, lounge by the pool and rejuvenate yourself, our house will provide the indoor/outdoor Palm Springs living style that you are craving.
The areas of southern California within and surrounding the Coachella Valley abound in great outdoors adventures. The base station for the famous Palm Springs Aerial Tram is about a 15 minute drive from our house. The largest rotating tramcars in the world take you from the valley to the San Jacinto Mountain Station, at 8,516 feet of altitude. Also nearby (about one hour by car) is Joshua Tree National Park, perhaps the premier rock climbing mecca of America. Joshua Tree, named for the amazing and weird versions of the yucca plant that grow only in that area, is also full of wonderful hikes and stunning driving tours. Big Bear Lake, with all the summer boating, fishing and swimming activities, and both alpine and downhill skiing in the winter, is only 2 hours away by car. The attractions of Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego are all within a few hours away by car.
