Beautiful Property for our Team Event

  • 5 of 5

I booked the Mrshe Palace for my client and his team for their global team meeting. The team loved the property, which is in the most stunning setting in Perast. Liliana (the owner) was very helpful prior and throughout the event, helping to organise chefs (that cooked delicious food for the team), cleaners, trips and various things that the team needed, sometimes with very short notice. I would strongly recommend this property and I'm sure that our guests will return to Mrshe Palace. Thank you very much Liliana and her team for making this event such a great success.

Flexible Accomodations in Perast!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed my stay in Perast tremendously. Its well located in the heart of the bay, the house is extremely spacious, flexible and comfortable. Transportation is much easier if you rent a rib or motor boat to truely enjoy all the bay has to offer. Really not one major critique and look forward to being a repeat guest! Thanks Liliana!

Hidden in the pretty UNESCO village is this gem

  • 5 of 5

Hidden within the pretty UNESCO village of Perast lays the Mrshe Palace, a charming holiday home nestled beneath the hill of St. Elijah. The former Venetian Palace is a huge property ideal for a large family and/or friend gathering for a holiday, wedding or anniversary. The villa is set in the hillside overlooking the sea; however the 70 steps leading up to it would make it unsuitable for very elderly or disabled persons. From our niece and nephews perspectives this ascent and descent were no problem:

“Most days within several minutes of waking, I’d be in the water, bobbing about, dwarfed by the surrounding mountains wondering to myself: Could there be a better, more beautiful place than this?” (Ross aged 20)

Jumping off the walls into the water was such fun (Evie aged 14)

“More than adequate” would be a complete understatement. The Mrshe Palace provided all the facilities our family needed to savour the delights and scenery that Montenegro delivered; with its balcony views looking out across the bay, we frequently found ourselves paused, gazing at the galleons and cruise liners passing through. The house was well equipped with plenty of cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils and glasses.

We also took trips to Kotor the neighbouring walled medieval town (also UNESCO) and to Budvar and the Porto Montenegro. Kotor is easy by bus but other destinations need either a car or a taxi. Parking in Perast is at either end of the village as only local cars are allowed into the village itself. There is an electric car that MIGHT transport you and your luggage. Some folks got a lift for free, others had to pay – this seemed to depend who was on car park duty and what you looked like!

Dad said “Our family of 20 had a marvellous stay here while attending our daughter’s wedding & was also great for hosting a party for all the other guests too”.

These parties and lunchtime meals in the sun not to mention the large dining room which seemed to be the best place for our family; tucking in on a bit of nosh, drinking with a slosh, dancing and having generally a right old hoot. Being able to cater for ourselves made our stay all the more enjoyable, bringing us closer as a family unit and creating a memory never to be forgotten.

dolphins through the bathroom window!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third visit and as usual it was fantastic! Mrshe palace is unique. We rented the small house and this year our party included myself,my wife,9 year old daughter,22 year old son and his girlfriend! - there was plenty of room for all. Space and comfort are major features of the house and the upgrading of the beds, sofas, air conditioning and tv were all welcome surprises.

We ate out more this year, spending a lot of time at Dardin Pizza restaurant (Dusan the waiter is great entertainment) and taking late night coffee and digestifs on the square at Conti. Only barbecued once, with fresh prawns and mussels from COGI fish and wine 'outlet' (10 minutes drive toward Kotor] Try and chat to Goran -the g in COGI -a cross between Oz Clarke and Demis Roussos.Balkan wine can be great and is excellently priced in both shops and restaurant -in fact prices for food and drink are about 30/40% lower than France and Spain - 80p/£1 for a beer/cappuccino! 'Nik is the very good local beer.

For local 'hooch,' try Risan market and the lady selling rasberries and rocket fuel cunningly disguised in an innocent green bottle with a picture of the Mostar bridge on the label. I think its the bridge, but it could also mean 'Warning - drinking this will hamper your ability to walk or drive over bridges.'

The views from the house are always sensational and were enhanced this year with early morning performances from a visting dolphin! The house is always well equipped and Liliana is not just a great 'landlady,' but also an excellent companian for morning and evening swims around the islands! Her mum also bakes brilliant pastries!!

Perast is a fascinating place. Make sure you take a boat trip to the 'Lady of the Rock' and a trip up the clock tower for a great view and a trip into how things used to be before health and safety regulations ruined Britain.

Couple of warnings - The house is situated at the top of a steeep set of steps (Passed Chris Bonnington and sherpas several times this year-so be wary if you have any mobilty issues or a heart condition.) Pay attention to Lilianna's directions and parking restrictions - which can result in problems, especially if you can't speak the language. If driving exercise caution-or throw caution to the wind, join in and drive with mobile phone in one hand a cigarette in the other, ensuring that you accelerate into blind bends whilst listening to loud Russian technorap.(Also prevalant at the Pirate bar - great!)

We'll be back!

Perast Wedding 2012

  • 5 of 5

We rented the large & small house of the Mrshe Palace as a base for our 20 guests - it proved to be the perfect choice! The property is truly stunning both inside and out - we all loved it! It was so spacious and well equipped that even with such a large group everyone had their own comfortable space. We made good use of the cooking/living areas and enjoyed BBQs in the garden. We could happily have spent every night at the house, but Perast has great restaurants, cafes and the Pirate Bar to offer, which have to be sampled!

The house has stunning views of the Bay of Kotor - an amazing sight to wake to each morning! It is located close to the waterfront and is just a short scenic walk to anywhere in Perast village, making it a very relaxing holiday location!

Liliana was an amazing help throughout - going out of her way and answering our many questions with prompt detailed replies, this was greatly appreciated! We took up her offer of cooked breakfast served at the house - we would definitely recommend this!

The house helped make our wedding an even more memorable occasion.

Lovely week in beautiful Perast

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed one week in Mrshe palace and loved every bit of our holiday, from the large, comfortable house - we rented the small house - to the amazing views from the house. My husband and son enjoyed dipping in the water early in the morning in preparation for a hot summer day. We had a day on the boat with friends exploring the little towns that you can see from the house and the ones further afield. Liliana, the owner provided a very detailed service to us, she was very efficient in her way of dealing with people´s request. We had a car so we managed to explore a lot of different towns but Perast was one of our favourite. I would definitely recommend this property to friends or family. Thank you again!

Perast is a small seaside town reknown for its natural and architectural beauty. It was built in the early and mid 17th century and is a World Heritage Site in order to preserve its beauty and history. It has 2 beaches at either end of the village but one can swim and sun bathe anywhere along the seas front, jumping into the clear and warm waters from the paved jetties locally known as ponta. Perast has a number of restaurants, a couple of grocery shops and a post office with a traditional square where locals and tourists meet for evening stroll and a drink. In front of Perast are 2 islands, one with a famous church Gospa od Skrpelja which has become very popular for weddings as future brides and grooms come from all over the world to get married in this amazing setting. The town is close to other interesting places like Kotor and Budva,it is only 1,5hr away from Dubrovnik and Lake Skadar and 2,5 hrs away from the mountains in the north and the rapids and canyon of the river Tara.
