About Jill Jones

I was raised in Skiatook and my family has been in this area for many generations. The cabin property is next to my family's original Osage tribal allotment. Even though I've traveled far and wide, I always like to come back to my native lands in the Osage hills where I feel most at home.

Jill Jones purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Jill Jones chose Skiatook

This part of Osage County is very unique terrain, and the area around Skiatook Lake is especially beautiful. The cabin overlooks the lake and provides a nice secluded location for enjoying nature or lake activities or just getting away from it all.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is cozy and comfortable inside, whether relaxing on the couch, cooking a meal, lighting up the firepit, or enjoying a fire in the wood stove during cold weather. On warm days, I really like the large deck overlooking the for grilling outdoors or kicking back for an afternoon or evening.

Had a great time

  • 5 of 5

This is a great cabin for a get away. It is secluded with a great deck in the back to sit and enjoy a book. It's a fairly short walk down to the lake. Very peaceful to just sit outside and enjoy nature. We have rented the cabin a few times now, and will keep coming back.

Great private location!

  • 5 of 5

Clean and welcoming cabin that was perfect for a few days away in celebration of our 30th anniversary. We appreciated the extras like outdoor bug control, stocked kitchen cabinets, and games and DVDs in case we got bored (which we did not). A/C was very effective in mid-June. Area was well mowed and communication with the owner, Jill, was clear and timely. Only one small thing of note - it was very easy access off of highway 20 which meant that some occasional car traffic could he heard from the highway (not total outdoor silence), but that did not bother us. We will absolutely consider this location again for a short get-away not far from home (we live in Tulsa). Thanks, Jill!!

Great Location for rest and relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

We really loved our stay here. Quiet and private to celebrate our anniversary! Sitting by the lake is absolutely amazing! There's just something soothing and peaceful in listening to the waves lapping along the edge of the lake. Would have loved to stay longer!

Off the beat and path!

  • 4 of 5

Be prepared to snuggle and wake up early. The light pours into the bedroom/living room and one step outside and your well aware you're away from it all. I would maybe recommend some darker curtains and a size up..or two on the bed size, good thing is that ya have to sleep close together.lol

It snap, crackled, and poured the last night we were there and that was quite the entertaining thing to see and feel.

Your about ten miles west of Osage casino, were we did amazingly good seeing as we never have much luck in Oklahoma casino wise.

Thank you once again for the accommodation!!!

Wonderful experience - if you're looking for solitude, this place is it.

  • 5 of 5

I'd definitely stay there again. While you're not next door to a ton of attractions, that's what we wanted: a quiet spot in nature. Great weekend retreat for couples!
