Gorgeous luxury log home, known as The Caddis Shack, was built in 2014. It is 3800 sq. ft., with 4 bedrooms (two are master suites) plus a loft bedroom, and 3 full bathrooms, on 3 levels. Sleeps 10.

Our home sits on a one acre lot along the best fly fishing wade section of the river! It is a short, scenic 25 minute drive to the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Fish the legendary rivers of the Madison, the Gallatin, the Yellowstone, the Firehole the Gibbon and the Henry's Fork all from one destination. If you prefer lakes, Hebgen lake, Quake lake, Henry's lake, Cliff and Wade lakes are minutes away. This is the perfect location for enjoying all the area has to offer.

The main level has a master bedroom suite, 2 additional bedrooms and a bathroom. Also on the main level is the entry, dining room, kitchen, great room and laundry. The loft has a queen bedroom. The lower level is a walkout basement that has a second master suite with queen bed and full bath, a second set of laundry, table tennis and is a large open area great for all your fishing gear.

Spacious, fully equipped modern kitchen with quartz counter tops, under cabinet lighting and stainless steel appliances. There is a nice propane Weber Genesis grill on the deck for your use including extra propane and all the grilling utensils needed. There are plenty of small appliances such as crock pot, blender, Cuisinart food processor, rice cooker and coffee grinder. We have provided two small 28 qt. coolers and blue ice packs to use during your stay for picnics and trips to the market.

Beautiful great room has 21 ft. tall ceilings, large elk antler chandelier and free-standing gas stove fireplace with river rock surround and hearth. There is plenty of comfortable seating offering space for everyone to stretch out and relax. 6 of the seating areas are recliners! There is a large 65' LCD flat screen TV with Direct TV, Bluetooth surround sound and Apple TV. Open the dual 6ft sliding glass doors and hear the sounds of the river.

Huge MASTER BEDROOM has a Cal-King bed, private bathroom and a 6ft sliding glass door opens to a deck over-looking the river. 58' LCD flat screen television in room, electric fireplace to provide a little extra warmth and ambiance as well.

GUEST BEDROOM #2 has a Cal-King size log bed and rustic log furniture theme. 50' flat LCD television in room, faces the river and has it's own sliding glass door to the deck over-looking the river.

GUEST BEDROOM #3 has Two twin rustic log beds, log furniture and 37' LCD flat screen television, view of the continental divide range and river.

GUEST BEDROOM #4 is the loft with queen bed, Rustic barn wood with tin themed furniture.

We have provided wader hooks, rod holders, big tables for packs/clothing/rod set up, and chairs to sit in while getting in/out of waders and boots. Just outside is bench for changing, hooks for waders and a hose to wash off.

Randy and Samantha Arbogast purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Randy and Samantha Arbogast chose West Yellowstone

We have been coming to fish the Madison River since 2000. Over the years we have stayed in motels in West Yellowstone, brought our RV to West Yellowstone and rented homes along the river. We really wanted to have a home on the right water and offer it as a rental to others coming here. In 2012, we were able to buy this lot and finished building our custom log home in 2014. So much thought has gone into making this the best rental around. We used our experience as guests ourselves and provided what we felt all the others were missing. We want you to enjoy our home with family and friends, feel at peace listening to the river and taking in all Montana has to offer. It's the perfect getaway spot!!

What makes this cabin unique

Private fishing access from our waterfront home. Gorgeous Montana furnishings make our house feel like home. Close to the Park and many other local towns, rivers and lakes. The pictures don’t do it justice!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed every second of our time here. The house is beautiful, the scenery is amazing! You made the house so inviting and perfect! I really hope we can visit again! We appreciated all the little things, you've supplied all that is needed. It's so cozy. The beds are comfy, love the big screen tv's, the deck is my favorite, especially in the mornings around 7:-7:30, the Bald Eagle that cruises by.

Breathtaking views and delux accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

Upon opening the door to the Caddis Shack, we knew we would be staying in luxury! The attention to detail in the structure, location, and interiors were over the top. From the deck, we watched elk grazing on the mountain, watched fishermen and became stargazers. We did do some fishing but did not have much luck. We are newbies to fly fishing. We cooked dinners at the “shack” and the kitchen was so well stocked. For us, this was a 3 generation family vacation. There was so much to do in the area. We spent most of our 10 days at Yellowstone but also fit in shopping and lunching in Ennis and a day trip to Big Sky.

A little piece of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

This place was absolutely amazing! It was far enough away from Yellowstone to feel like you were secluded, but close enough to get to all the comforts of dining and shopping. Our family went here to relax and fish. We were surprised by how much more there was to experience. The stars were amazing! The kitchen was well-stocked for us foodies who love to cook. There were lakes close by that are a nice day trip, Cliff Lake and Wade Lake with turquoise water! And you don't have to go far to fish, right out the back door! We will never forget this amazing place!

Nicest, most comfortable, well equipped vacation home I have ever rented.

  • 5 of 5

Caddis Shack is a little piece of Heaven located on the Madison River in MT. My friends consider me a professional vacationer because I am retired and make many trips a year to places I love. After reading about the Caddis Shack along with the reviews, I had very high expectations. My husband and I invited our best friends to join us and I really didn't want to let anyone down on my selection for our vacation home. The Caddis Shack exceeded my expectations, and that is saying a lot!!! The owners, Samantha and Randy, made this cabin into a vacationers dream. It was beautifully furnished from top to bottom and everything was so comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the great room and looking at the river and mountains. We had every breakfast and dinner in the cabin and we enjoyed using the kitchen so much. Top notch appliances, large and small. Even a coffee grinder was provided, very important to us coffee lovers. The dishes and silverware were plentiful and top notch. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, everything a well stocked kitchen should have...even zip lock baggies which came in very handy for our daily picnics. The bedrooms and bathrooms were also fantastic, wonderful mattresses, sheets, towels, extra toiletries in case you have forgotten something, even Q-tips. The cabin wide deck on the back of the cabin provided us with a beautiful view of the mountains and river, chairs to relax in, a picnic table, and a very nice grill with extra propane in case we needed it. The owners provided a lot of extras such as bear spray, bug spray, coolers (with ice packs), backpack outdoor chairs you can borrow for the park, a ping pong table, even corn hole. After a day out sight seeing we were able to wash our clothes in two sets of washers and dryers, washing detergent was provided too. One of the most important things to me is cleanliness...the cabin was spotless!!! The week at the Caddis Shack flew by, we really would have loved to stay another week. If you're considering the Caddis Shack, I can tell you, you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait for our next trip. Thank you Samantha and Randy for sharing your beautiful cabin!!!

Comfy & beautiful house in an amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

The Caddis Shack is most definitely NOT a shack, but I still love the name, especially since we were there for fly fishing. Which could be had right outside the back door, on the Madison River! Very clean and well-appointed, great local coffee provided for the coffee maker. The master bedroom and bath were so comfy. The entire back of the house has a deck, with a grill, chairs to lounge in and a big picnic table. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you want to get away. There's lots of room for everyone, too!

View and shack = B-E-A-utiful

  • 5 of 5

The shack was beautiful and cozy. The master bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in and the river running in the background was perfect to fall asleep to. I also enjoyed the porch and easy access to the river. Once you're out on the porch the views are very peaceful.

Pretty amazing for a "Shack"

  • 5 of 5

The Caddis Shack is by no means a "shack." From what I know it was built to be a fishing house. Meaning you can hang your wet waders and leave your wet boots just inside the front door hanging on rail road spikes turned "wader rack." That's just the start. You enter into the kitchen/dining room area. A big long bench seat dining table awaits you. Huge living area with bedrooms at each end of the home, with a loft and yes they are adding a master bath and rec room in the "basement" area. I stayed here with two other women for the Madison River Fly School put on by Riverside Anglers/Alice Owsley. It was beautiful, clean and I tell you if I could have packed that mattress and pillow in my suitcase it would have gone home with me. It was COMFORTABLE! What struck me most besides everything being top of the line is how quiet the home and the area was. We held class at the rivers edge and waded into the water which was a short hike from the cabin deck area. The owners paid attention to detail leaving us flies from the local fly shop to use during our trip and coffee from the local coffee house up the road for fresh perked coffee each morning. I would highly reccommend this as a must stay place! The owners pay great attention to detail to make sure your experience is great!
