Why Linda Jane Parson chose Woodford

Passed by Woodford Lake off of route 9 a thousand times. One day my car made a sharp turn into this private community, where I saw a sign 'Home for sale by owner'

The minute I walked in, I knew it was meant to be.

Its magical here at Woodford Lake! Come and stay and find out for yourself!

Its for sale if you are interested(:

What makes this cottage unique

As you walk into the house and look directly out to the sparkling water surrounded by glorious mountains. Listen to the sounds of the babbling brook on the side of the house.

Picture the perfect winter wonderland. That is what it is like in Woodford.

Its magical for a romantic weekend!

The most peaceful, relaxing, beautiful little house

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at Linda Janes lake house for a christmas getaway. We had such an amazing time in vermont. Mount snow is about 20 minutes away and there is a nearby town to buy groceries or go out to eat. Lindas house itself was beautifully charming. The house is rite on the lake so there are gorgeous views all day long. The house was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. Fresh towels, linens, cooking needs, even first aid... everything you need.. just need to bring your food. Linda was in regular contact with us and was very accommodating. We will definatly be back ! I highly recommend this cozy place* -Katherine B.

Perfect weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This rental and its location were absolutely perfect for my annual reunion trip with my college roommates. The house was both spacious and cozy, and was rich with character. We lucked out with the weather, and enjoyed the lake, fire pit, and nearby state park. It was nice to be secluded yet also within a 15 minute drive of the town, where we found great restaurants. LJ was very helpful and checked in with me via email and text prior to my arrival. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer!

Beautiful, relaxing property with lots of amenities and near a fun little town!

  • 5 of 5

We (two couples) stayed at Linda Jane's cabin this last weekend and could not have had a better time!

The cabin itself is beautiful and perfect for a few days away, with a babbling brook just outside the window to provide the ambiance, a fully equipped kitchen and eating area (seriously, fully equipped -- just bring your food!), super comfortable living room with a pellet-stove looking out over the lake, and many beds. (Beds: Large, very comfy bed for two adults in the loft upstairs; in the separate side-room, there's a futon that also sleeps two adults, plus bunk-beds for three.) The cabin is stocked with plenty of board games, etc, for ample family fun. Also -- wireless internet! A must these days.

Outside, there's a beautiful deck overlooking the lake, a fire pit out back for s'mores and other campfire activities, and two kayaks and a paddle-boat (plus safety gear) for the lake. The lake itself is GORGEOUS. We went in mid-October and, while the nights were somewhat chilly (we threw on light jackets or heavy sweaters when sitting around the fire pit) it was still perfect weather for getting out on the lake in the boats, which we did multiple times a day. Nearby, there are plenty of beautiful parks and trails, which we also enjoyed.

AND -- on clear nights, there is so little light pollution that you can clearly see the Milky Way stretch from horizon to horizon. Pack a pair of binoculars and prepare to see more stars than you've ever seen before! In addition to our regular star gazing, we saw a number of shooting stars *and* just happened to be out at the right time to catch the International Space Station (clearly visible to the naked eye!) pass overhead!!

When you want a break from all the beautiful nature, just 15 minutes down the road there is the adorable little town of Bennington. There are a number of very good restaurants here (recommend the brewpub), as well as little chocolate/ice cream shops, etc. Very enjoyable!

Finally, Linda Jane is a fantastic host. She left us a welcome gift (s'mores, in our case -- exactly what I wanted!) and there were very clear instructions all over the cabin for how to use things. She was in regular contact leading up to our visit, she let us know when the cabin was ready so that we could come in a little early, and, since there was nobody coming in after us, she waived the check out time so that we could get one more go'round in the kayaks before we headed out. OVERALL - FANTASTIC TRIP!!

Cutest lake house

  • 5 of 5

Perfect, comfy, cozy. My boyfriend and I were happily surprised. Clean and has everything you need. Be ready to be off the grid, no cell service anywhere and civilization/food is about 15+ minutes away, so bring snacks if you don't want to leave. When you wake up in the morning and look straight ahead you have 2 windows showing the view of the water right from bed. We were already thinking of going back again, maybe in the winter.
