Quaint little getaway spot!

  • 4 of 5

Property is perfect for a couple since there is only one bed. I was there with my sister we took turns with the couch....would have stayed longer had there been another bed. Close walk to town, marina and the beach. Watch the sunrise and sunsets from the rooftop. Owner was out of town but we were met upon arrival and were walked through the property and answered all our questions. Caretakers live right next door and were very friendly. We became great friends with their two dogs as well! :-)

Authentic Mexican experience, will be back again someday soon with my husband!

Like being a part of the family. Charming,

Definitely coming back. A hidden jewel.

Sunsets on the roof, playing with family

Dog, a gentle, lovely, wonderful spot with great location. A taste of real Mexico vs tourists. Heavenly. If you want noise and hype, this is not for you. Close to whale watching, and markets. Lots of great restaraunts.

Bring a book and savor the gardens.

Great Place

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed 7 days at this quaint little house. The view is great, especially from the rooftop. It had all the amenities listed in the desciption. Its walking distance to everything in LaCruz, including bus to all the nice beaches and other little towns in the area. The owner, that lives on site was extremely helpful and took care of any needs we had. Even gave us a ride into Bucerias for groceries.

Only piece of advice is I wouldn't recommend this property if its your first time to Mexico. The town and location are very authentic and might be a little overwhelming for first time travelers. We had been to the area many times before therefore knew what to expect.

Had a wonderful stay in this well-designed La Cruz cassita.

  • 4 of 5

We felt very well welcomed and cared for at this lovely property. Duncan was so helpful and friendly and the care-takers were also very kind, helpful and caring. The sun-rise and sunset views were marvelous! This is a unique spot, perched above the working marina in La Cruz. The kitchen has lots to use for cooking, if you want to do that. The shower is great and the bedroom comfortable. The decor is very creative and warm. We were very comfortable.

We explored and loved the friendly, authentic and quaint town of La Cruz. It has so many wonderful places to eat out in town, within walking distance, and plenty of options for buying anything we needed for eating at our cozy home-away-from-home, as well. There is a notebook listing many varied and interesting places to enjoy good cooking in relaxed atmospheres, some with music entertainment.

The Sunday market near the marina was a great place to find local products for eating or gifting. There is a beach at this same area, where fishermen repair their nets in the shade. You can walk along a beach, and then use the fish market for your supper shopping or enjoy the seafood restaurant called Oso's right there.

We walked to a bus stop and hopped a ride to P.V. for a day. In La Cruz, we found a local pharmacy where we could get great prices on RX we needed. Local taxis took us to Bucerias for a great price. We found everyone very pleasant and helpful. I can't wait for another trip to this area and get-away.

Wonderful place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We arrived on hot Saturday in July to find Francie and Pedro waiting to show us around the place, how to work the air conditioner, where to find everything we needed to make our stay in enjoyable. The apartment is part of a complex that includes several others but only Francie and Pedro and family were there in July. And of course Nikki the dog. Franice and Pedro were very helpful getting us the occasional taxi and heeling out with various things.

The decor is lovely and the style very Mexican. Lots of book to read in English plus guides for the area. We had a lovely little patio garden overlooking the shipyard and marina. It was about a five minute walk to the fish market and a nice restaurant by the marina. We did a lot of our own cooking and found the kitchen reasonably well equipped. We didn't use the oven because it was too hot. The air-conditioning in the bedroom worked well. But I think it was hard for it keep up with the 36 degrees centigrade sun in the late afternoon. I would probably not go again in July but January or February would be perfect!

Beautiful Casita with view of Marina and Banderas Bay

  • 5 of 5

Charming spacious Casita in perfect location. Easy walking distance to great local swimming beaches, La Cruz market, excellent numerous musical venues, restaurants and stores. It overlooks top notch Marina, which being boaters, was a visual delight. Incredible food and music can be found within minutes in town, or cook at home, as there is plenty of space and amenities. Nice shared lawn with lounges, quiet outside garden eating, and upper deck with incredible views are some of your choices for food and drink. Friendly Mexican family next door will look after your Casita needs as well as help your Spanish with a smile. Duncan, the owner was a great source of help and information with his extensive knowledge of the area and its people. He made our short 8 day trip memorable, Thank You! We will definitely be back for another visit.

La Cruz is famous for it's restaurants and entertainment. From flamenco to jazz, light rock, sax, violin, rock and roll to open mic, there is something for everyone to enjoy. There are local artisans and crafts at the Sunday market. If you love fresh seafood, a daily walk to the fisherman's market provides jumbo shrimp, marlin, dorado and a variety of other seafood to please your palate. There are 5 golf courses nearby to enjoy. The beaches are beautiful, with surfing, swimming and beachcombing amongst the top attractions. La Cruz and Bucerias are wonderful walking towns, it is very easy to be comfortable without a car, as everything you need is close by. For those who drive in, there are scenic drives to Punta de Mita and Sayulita. Puerto Vallarta is 25 minutes by car and 35 minutes by bus for those who want big city shopping and entertainment. Don't forget the joys of the beautiful Bahia de Banderas. There is whale watching, world class deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, island and secluded beach excursions and sailing.
