This was such lovely location. Very quiet. Just a few minutes drive from supermarkets and a few more for the town itself. It is surrounded by the Black Forest so its a gorgeous drive everywhere you go. Its not far from Baden Baden and the apartment has literature on all of the things to see in the area. The apartment itself has everything you need. Its a good size with lots of room to move around. The owner was great, making sure that we started off in the right direction. We had no issues at all with any of the items inside the apartment and WiFi worked well too. We would stay here again if we are lucky enough to be back in this part of Germany.
This was our second year at Appartment Elme, testimony to the beautiful place it is: we loved it so much we returned!
We stayed here for a week in Sept 09 in this fantastic apartment. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The apartment was immaculate and extremely well fitted out. The area has lots of beautiful scenary and is perfect for walking. The closest town is a 20 min walk and a large supermarket is also a 20 min walk. We went to several restaurants locally which were all child friendly and served lovely food. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as our stay was so enjoyable.
Lovely apartment in a very special setting. Clean and well appointed but expensive compared to similar properties in the area. Extra costs for use of washing machine and bread rolls which are half the price at the supermarkets. A visit to the zoo in Kalrsruhe is a must-fantastic value for 5.5 euros and easily accesible by train (S41) direct from Baiersbronn. Fabulous little cafe/bar at station where beer is cheap and the owner very friendly and speaks good English.
Alpirbacher is a fabulous place to visit and the local beer a treat. Baden Baden worth a visit but really expensive shopping.
If you really want to treat yourself, visit the Hotel Traube Tonbach within walking distance for the hearty. Food michelin starred-expensive but setting and service first class. We arrived in the area late on a Saturday night and we were unable to locate the apartment as no address was provided on the web.(I have since informed the owner.) The Maitre De was so obliging. He located the address and provided us with milk, bread, butter and beer as shops are closed on Sundays. We returned to the Wednesday for a meal and settled up for the provisions received on the previous Saturday-not many people would be so trusting.
It would be useful if the apartment owners provide a basic welcome pack (at cost) to tide guests over until the shops open on Monday!!
Overall a good but expensive holiday but I would recommend the apartment which was exceptionally clean.
A car is essential but make use of the free buses and trains which run exactly on time unlike UK.
