About this property

A River Runs Through It #2 Waterfront luxury with hot tub, fireplace & firepit

Cedarbreeze is more than a cabin. It is a cozy little house complete with all the amenities of a home. It has a full kitchen, a separate bedroom, lovely river rock fireplace, and a generous living area.

There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Both beds have comfortable latex mattresses.

Outside, the large covered deck overlooks a huge lawn sloping down to the river. A propane BBQ is provided on the deck. A hot tub for the exclusive use of this cabin sits on a side deck. There is a fire pit just for the use of this cabin, and a small fenced yard is convenient for those with children or pets.

Lovely landscaping enhances the beauty of the setting as well as providing privacy between cabins.

So charming it almost hurts - amazing host and property
Charming, cute - felt like home. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend away and an opportunity to just unwind and help your shoulders come down... this is the place. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciated and will have fond memories of our stay here.

Title
Simply on of the most well maintained and picturesque rentals we have ever stayed in. The advertisement really doesn’t do it justice.

Sol Duc Fishing weekend
Loved this cozy cabin right on the Sol Duc River. Idyllic, peaceful and a perfect getaway for us. Decorated so nicely with antiques and nicely stocked for ultimate comfort. We loved the hottub and used it daily. Location was perfect for my husband and nephew to get to areas they like to fish. We look forward to coming back again!

About the host

Host profile image
We are Ted and Brenda Connely. Brenda grew up in Forks. Ted is from Nebraska but has been here on the Olympic Peninsula since 1976. We were living in Port Angeles when we found the river house. A friend mentioned the property might be available. We bought it and spent every spare moment for the next four years fixing it up. One day in March of 2004 Brenda came back to the cabin from work in Port Angeles carrying Sam the cat, who had been the only one occupying the house in Port Angeles most of the time. 'We live here now,' she announced, 'we're always here anyway.' She got no argument from Ted and so the house in Port Angeles was sold and we became full time residents at the cabin.

Everybody enjoyed life at the cabin, including Sam, but after several long, wet winters we decided to buy a larger home closer to Forks, still on the river but not as special. We couldn't bring ourselves to sell the cabin so we decided to share it with others by turning in into a vacation rental. It has been gratifying to see our guests love it too. So many have told us they don't want to leave at the end of their stay.

Why they chose this property

Even though the property was all grown up with weeds and the house was very run down, we knew at first sight this was our place. The sparkling river running along the edge of the yard, the golden light coming through the trees, just the peaceful feel of the place. Many guests have used the word 'magical' to describe their feelings about the place.

What makes this property unique

We originally bought this property for our own vacation home with no thought of its potential as a vacation rental property. But not only is it a beautiful, relaxing, welcoming spot to stay, it is very handily located within an hour's drive of nearly all the attractions of the northwest section of Olympic National Park. Many guests comment on what a great base camp it is for seeing the park. We have often heard how nice it is to come home to after a day of hiking and exploring to sit by the river, BBQ on the deck, soak in the hot tub, build a fire in the firepit, and sleep in the very comfortable beds.
