About Liz Potemra
Liz and Mario are residents of Vienna, VA in FairfaxCounty. Liz's parents bought this property in 1996 as a retirement home, but sadly both passed away two years later. Although they only went there on weekends, the local community got to know them and made us feel like part of the local area. Liz and Mario decided to buy out the rest of the family and keep the home. Before kids, they would use it as a weekend getaway for golf trips. While the kids were young, we rented the property full time to pay for the mortgage, but in between tenants we were able to get down once a year or so. Now that the kids are older, and enjoy the summer on the bay, we like to balance the renting with our own personal enjoyment of the area. Liz is a real estate agent, licensed in Virginia and works primarily in the Northern Virginia area, but has some great referrals for the Northern Neck if you are looking to stay:)!

Why Liz Potemra chose White Stone
The Northern Neck is a beautiful hidden gem of Virginia that is loved by all who discover it. This property, in White Stone, is a couple miles from the world renowned Tides Inn in Irvington. Located on Carter's creek, enjoy water access to the Rappahannock, fishing from the dock, or just the views from the decks. Golf at the Tides or the King Carter golf courses. Close to the Dog & Oyster vineyard, halfway between the towns of White Stone and Irvington and 10 minutes from Kilmarnock (on the trolley route in the summer!), shop and antique in this unique area.
What makes this House unique
This property is set in a secluded part of Carter's Creek. Built in the side of a hill, the main level has a deck overlooking the creek. Below, enjoy creek views from the family room and bedroom or decks from each of these.

Enjoyed my stay.
Beautiful relaxing getaway! Always love the water. Quick walk to the dock where U can kickback. Enjoying the view and nature. Sunday AM. Saw a bald eagle fly by twice. Fishing and crabbing @ your finger tips.
Great location on the water
This property was as we expected from the listing. Great location and clean, cozy house. Some furnishings are dated. The exterior decks and dock are worn but provided great opportunities to sit outside with fabulous view of the creek. The owner was very responsive when we locked ourselves out of the house.
Beautiful outdoor spot
Beautiful cozy home on the water the only thing was the cable didn't work. But other than that we had a wonderful time and will book again.
Beautiful outdoor spot, but issues with house
My husband and I checked in on a Friday. The AC units were shut off to conserve energy. It was 85 F upstairs. After several hours of running, the temperature on first floor only dropped 2 degrees. I contacted the property owner twice, but didn't get a response until Sunday, shortly before we were ready to leave. She apologized for our discomfort.
There is substantial water damage in the basement, where we eneded up sleeping due to the upstairs AC not working. The bedroom had foam boarding covering where drywall had been water damaged. The carpet in this room was stained in several places. The vents in the bathroom did not work, neither did most of the cleaning fans.
However, we did enjoy time on the dock.
We were also required to wash our own towels and haul our trash to the local dump, even though we were charged a triple digit cleaning fee.
I am sorry that you had a negative experience. That weekend I was in Canada moving my daughter home from school and so did not get the texts until I hit the US border the next day. I had assumed you would call since it was a pretty urgent issue.
The AC unit was repaired as soon as I could get a repair person in on the next work day. Unfortunately, this area is remote and there are no on-call HVAC people that I could find. We had asked that people turn off the AC after previous guests were leaving it at 60 degrees and we received a $400 electric bill, but apparently it is better to leave it running so we have updated our policy to keep it on.
The water damage was a foundation issue resolved early spring but we have not fixed the wall board because we need to go through another winter to be absolutely sure that it is resolved. So far, the wall and flooring is dry, so we should be able to repair that over the winter.
Once this is right, I'd love to make this right with you and have you come back some time. Contact me directly if you would like another stay.
Nice stay for Christmas 2018
The location was perfect for visiting the in-laws for Christmas in White Stone. The house was clean and cozy.
