About Scotty Henderson

I too love to travel having been to all five continents as being an entrepreneur in the import business has taken me to diverse locations. This property can hold a large group like few can. While not luxurious it is comfortable as it's about decks the dock and boating. It's the company that you keep.

Scotty Henderson purchased this chateau / country house in 1998

Why Scotty Henderson chose Shuswap Lake

Great property for relaxing time with friends while keeping privacy of 4 levels with lots of space. Also boat launch and beaches are right here as well.

Another great Summer Vacation on the Shuswap

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends and I stayed for two weeks this past summer and had a great stay. The cabin was as advertised and worked well for our group. Scott was easy to get a hold of and getting in and out of the cabin was simple. Scott left us alone to enjoy our time there. The mooring buoy made things very easy as we had a surf boat we used daily. The view from the cabin was impressive.

Owner's Response: Hey Bobby, Glad all worked out with friends coming and going. Yes the buoy definitely helps rather than trailering boat everyday. Hope to host you all again soon! Scott

Beautiful view. Good access to the lake.

  • 4 of 5

Lots of room in the house. Lovely decks. Property most suitable for fit or younger people due to stairs on property. Great for families with boats.

Cleanliness was suitable. Fairly well stocked but could not find can opener on top kitchen. Beds were comfortable.

Thank you for sharing your home with us do we could enjoy your piece of paradise for a week.

Great Decks, Views and Hot Tub

  • 4 of 5

We were expecting more than the 3 bedrooms, but after reviewing the description, it did say that the other areas were sleeping areas - not bedrooms. The lake was very high, and thus we had only a boat launch to play in the water. However, the cabin was in good shape with lots of space for visiting, relaxing, cooking and unwinding! We loved the hot tub on the covered deck. This is a great location (only about 5 min walk to a little store if need anything)...just the road separating you from the beach (which we had to watch as we had some children). All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Owner's Response: Glad you all enjoyed the area, the Lookout and your get together in the Shuswaps. Yes on mobile app does show that way in vrbo but lists correctly as shown. Water was high this year. Scott

Perfect for a ladies weekend

  • 4 of 5

This is a cabin experience, nothing super fancy but worked for what we needed. Lots of rooms and patios for hanging out. The dock as seen in pictures was gone due to flooding and there is no forgiveness on leaving your boat tied up to public dock. Pretty cold swimming to shots in early June. The hot tub could use a few better chemicals to balance ph levels and be sure to bring any kitchen tools as needed as this was limited. If you have a big crew this home has a good price point for what you get. We would rent again!

Owner's Response: Hi Chelsea, It was great meeting you all for your party and sorry had to enforce the no boats mooring on the community docks but there was a fine that I picked up for you. Glad you all had fun. Scott

Nice large cabin, crappy rundown dock and beach/ volleyball court

  • 3 of 5

THIS CABIN IS NOT LAKE FRONT. The pictures make it look lakefront but there is a road you have to cross to get to the water. The cabin was very large and spacious. The cabin has two full kitchens which is nice. It only 3 bedrooms the rest are sleeping cubbies or couches. The washer and dryer work well and so does the fridge. The vacuum works well. What was a disappointment was when we got there, the cleaning staff had left a note saying they could not clean the hotub. Well that was bs we simply scrubbed the sides with some cleaner and put in another chlorine tablet as the hotub smelled very bad. We filled it back up with new water and the next day it was clean. The dock had rotten boards on it everywhere. It had nails sticking up and the water was comming over the sides of it with only one person on the dock. There was a wind storm one night that blew apart the dock. I contacted the owner and he said dock maintenance was called but they did not come in our stay which was from may 22 to may 29, 2017. The beach was in need of sand and some weeding. It was starting to be overgrown around the edges and had tarps comming up threw tyhe sand. The volly ball net was nothing more than a string on two sticks that were falling over. All in all the cabin and bc was very nice but the dock, beach, and vollyball court were terrible.

Owner's Response: Glad you all enjoyed the Lookout and 5 levels of it. This year there was extreme high water and no beach to enjoy, storms destroyed the dock which obviously takes time to repair now complete. The neighbours did offer theirs to you. I have since replaced the cleaner and apologise for the hot tub.
