Two separate suites in a beautiful cedar structure, magnificient views over lake

Come visit the Lookout , a beautiful all- cedar structure provides awesome views over Shuswap Lake. The accommodation has 4 levels to spread out, perfect for larger groups that want privacy as well. With over 1000 feet of decks, there are two units with separate living accommodations each having kitchen, bedrooms, living area, bathroom and patio. You are renting both suites. A fourth level has a hot tub and open vista lounge area.

It is all about decks, docks and boats. To access the unique property features and panoramic views from the house there are several flights of stairs. The beach & swimming area in front, boat launch and park are directly in front of semi-waterfront property.

The cedar rustic house is comfortably equipped with 3 decks with panoramic lake view (over 1,000ft), 2 separate entrances, 2 kitchens, 3 washrooms, 3 queen bedrooms, 2 sofa beds, 2 wall sleeping nooks (more for kids), 8 man hot tub, complimentary Internet WIFI and premium cable TV with 2 TV's, stereo, gas BBQ (propane not included), hearth fireplace, bicycles, washer/dryer, boat launch and shared 2000' park side waterfront beach and dock, picnic and sand court, parking for 7 vehicles (up to 32') on property. Towels & linens for 6, partially stocked kitchen, microwaves, coffee makers with some coffee and teas, some soaps and shampoos are provided.

Enjoy to vacation overlooking Cooper Island and beautiful Shuswap Lake on the sunny north side.

Private, relaxing and spacious with beautiful views of the lake and mountains.

The home has everything you'll need for a peaceful and fun time. Wake up each morning and look out the kitchen window or wander onto one of the massive decks and take in the fresh air, watch the deer pass by, and look out at the lake and the mountains right before you.

Scotty Henderson, the owner, was very accessible, warm and friendly and immediately, and enthusiastically responded to any questions I had.

The space itself is two separate suites with full kitchens and bathrooms. comfy beds and lots of places to sit and relax and / or connect with friends and family.

The private hot tub is large and the view from the hot tub is fantastic.

The private beach is directly across the road - literally just a few feet away - and there are water toys as part of your rental and a boat launch just down the way on the resort property.

There are many excellent hiking trails nearby and the home is a 7 minute drive from Scotch Creek & Shuswap lake park and from grocery stores, pharmacy, and local cafes, and just a few minutes walk to the town of Celista and a little corner store that has pretty much everything including liquor store, hardware store, and access to information on local events and daytrips for ziplining and rafting, snowmobiling and more.

My dogs love the house and the surrounding trails and beach and give the home 4 paws up!

I enjoyed my stay immensely and would most definitely return again.

Amazing Shu

I have stayed here twice now!scotty makes everything smooth and easy!I went up with friends I had the basement suite was great to have my space with my friends upstairs to share meals with!the Lakeview from the bed was amazing, I also enjoyed the hottub.the nearby stores and winery were wonderful!the best part was the lake we packed a party island hopefully I can get back next year!!!also pet's are welcome I taught my pup how to swim,hopefully get a chance next summer,

Always a Great Stay at Henderson Lookout

Our family and a few friends enjoyed a great stay this past August at the Lookout. This isn't our first visit to this rustic and homey Chalet as we have stayed during the winter as well. We love the location, incredible views and the separate suites for privacy. We appreciate that our fur baby is also welcome here. The stairs are definitely a workout, but well worth the effort. Relaxing in the hot tub with a coffee, taking in the morning sunrise is a great start to our day in the Shu. The road is busy in front of the house; keep an eye on any children and pets. However, they do provide baby gates to prevent them from taking off. The beach this past visit was incredible and it helped that the weather was AMAZING! We love that we can bring our food and cook all together, each person bringing their delicious creations to the table. It is also helpful there is a grocery store/liquor store so close by if we forgot anything. Definitely, a great place to get together with family and friends; plus Scott is very easy to work with!!!! Thank you for sharing you house with us!

Great views and hot tub but cabin needs some TLC

The best thing about this cabin is its location, the hot tub and views from the decks.

We were a family party of 6 so thought this 3 bed cabin would be perfect. Upon our arrival we had to remake one of the beds as the sheets were dirty, there were hairs in the bed and the pillowcases had tears in them; we also had to clean out the hot tub, not ideal but not the end of the world. The bathrooms and kitchens were nice and clean and the washer and dryer worked really well, great bonus!

On a whole we enjoyed our stay but I think it would be fair to say that there are a lot of repairs that need working on, for example, lots of cuts and rips in the bathroom lino that have just been covered with electrical tape (not difficult to replace), plug in bath was so blocked the water wouldn't drain, there were no BBQ tools, cracked window in one of the bedrooms, cracked picture frames, old and lumpy pillows, also there is no storage for clothes on the lower floor (not even a single drawer), there was a small rail for hanging clothes but it was in the broom cupboard where the mops and vacuum were kept so we just lived out of our cases. Real shame because this is the level that is meant to sleep 10 people which would be hard with no storage. The mid and top floor were pretty good so we spent most of our evening time together here. The sofa on the mid level was big and comfortable. The dock wasn't on the lake and it was in bad condition so we were unable to use it, the hammock was also too old to use, our 8 year old sat in and was touching the floor. Be careful swimming in the lake, make sure you thoroughly wipe down after as there are a lot of duck mites, the kids had over 200 bites each. Also, be wary when you take the garbage to the centre as they charge you, for the week we were there it cost us over $20 all together, not a lot but a bit of a surprise when you are not expecting it.

My advice to the owner would be to spend some time on upgrading this place, a lot of the furniture was broken, the beds were not comfortable and we did feel a little disappointed as we had paid a lot to stay here in the height of summer but didn't quite feel like we got our moneys worth.

If the cabin underwent upgrades and had the broken furniture replaced, I would consider returning to this property as it has a lot of potential to be an outstanding property.

Upon inspection the dining room chairs that were damaged have been replaced all other furniture in good condition. While with all lakes ducks do visit; last week in August and water was good. Every spring things do get upgraded and hope to see you next year.

Review of Henderson's Lookout

This is a follow up to our stay at Henderson's Lookout this past week. Unfortunately, your vacation home was the least clean and most poorly maintained place that my family and I have ever stayed in. Examples:

Upstairs stove filthy-lower slightly better

Freezer in upstairs fridge-areas of melting covered with tape

Long black hair in the sheets of upstairs bedroom

Broken track light in upstairs kitchen

Broken kitchen drawer-falls off track

Lower kitchen light full of dead insects

Upstairs fire extinguisher has no charge

No cleaning under beds-other guests socks and bags

No lock on upper patio door

No working lights directly outside of each main entrance

No secure lock on lower entrance door

Both propane tanks for BBQ's empty

It has been a busy summer with lots of people enjoying the place. Cleanliness and safety are paramount and things do get mixed up after people come and go so I do apologize for this. I just wished I was informed sooner to take care of these short comings during your stay here in the Shuswaps.

Another great Summer Vacation on the Shuswap

A group of friends and I stayed for two weeks this past summer and had a great stay. The cabin was as advertised and worked well for our group. Scott was easy to get a hold of and getting in and out of the cabin was simple. Scott left us alone to enjoy our time there. The mooring buoy made things very easy as we had a surf boat we used daily. The view from the cabin was impressive.
