About Holly Bailey
Hello, we are Troy & Holly Bailey from New Virginia IA. We are transplants from Maryland that moved to this beautiful state in 2006. We dairy farmed in Maryland and moved to Iowa to partake in its more laid back, less crowded atmosphere and get our hands dirty with the rich black soil that covers the state.
Holly Bailey purchased this Barn in 2011
Why Holly Bailey chose New Virginia
We needed a place for family and friends to stay when they came to visit so we turned our barn into a rustic hideaway that we thought others would enjoy too. And they do. The only complaints we get from our guest is that they don't want to leave.
What makes this Barn unique
The landscaping is always changing here between a field full of soybeans or corn to the north ,a pergola covered in blooming wisteria, or tulips everywhere in the spring, how about the smells of the lavender that draws the butterflies to its purple luster, the birds always singing a song in the bushes and vines as they make their way to vibrant red birdboxes filled with chirping babies. The trees that shade you on a hot day as you relax in your chaise and catch an afternoon nap. Maybe you all but fell asleep getting a massage outdoors while you take in all these sounds and smells. (we have a massuse that comes and gives massages here at the barn) in the winter you can curl up by the fireplace with your cocoa ,watch the sun rise while you sip your cup of joe, watch the stars twinkle above your head as you gaze out the sky lights ,catch up on movie time, remember what its like to relax and enjoy life.

Quaint and quiet!
This is a favorite get away! Decorated beautifully for the holiday season! This place never disappoints!
We loved our time at the cozy barn home!
We travel often so we are familiar with what's available. This was one of the nicest experiences we've had. So private and cozy. Wonderful country Christmas decorations. I'm sure it's really beautiful in the summer from what we could see.
Perfect place for a quiet retreat
Baileys Barn is a beautiful gem in the country. The owners have built a warm and inviting place to rest, relax, and in our case gather with local family. They pay attention to every detail...from having the lights and music on and the fireplace roaring when we came in, to stocking the kitchen and baths with a little bit of everything incase you’ve forgotten something. But don’t come empty-handed. If you’re like us and used to the conveniences of a more urban or suburban area, you’ll be surprised at the distance to the nearest grocery or gas station. Be sure to stock up on your provisions before you get here, unless you’re planning to poke around a bit in Osceola which has some great little shops (I might make another trip just to go back to Ivy Rose)... or Indianola which also has a great town square (check out MishMash over by Kraus’ Cafe. They have AMAZING cheddar biscuits!)... or any of the local wineries. Then, once you’ve had your fill of shopping, drinking, and visiting, you’ll be glad to get back to the peace and serenity of the barn, where you can sit back and enjoy all the love that has gone in to this beautiful home away from home.
Absolutely love this place
This is the most perfectly decorated interior, beautifully landscaped, very welcoming, has everything I'm looking for. Thanks!
This year was our 2nd year in this absolutely adorable rustic barn.
Annual Sisters weekend - we love the location as it is the 1/2 way mark for 2 of my sisters coming from MO and the other 5 of us coming from MN. This charming barn has everything you would want. Beds are comfy, living room is big enough for all 8 of us to sit in there comfortably. Love, Love, Love this place!
We are 5 college friends who gather once a year at spots all over the country. Bailey Farms is one of our favorites! Charming and well appointed barn/home with lovely outdoor entertainment space. We had a ball!
