ACCOMMODATIONS

Casa Blanca is uniquely positioned at the opening of our beach trail allowing for white water views, and easy beach and trail access. It’s not uncommon to see dolphins swimming by from your deck. We are located in a tranquil neighborhood just north of the pier, where you’ll easily blend in with the locals, and are close enough to walk to the heart of downtown in 15 minutes. San Clemente is also uniquely positioned exactly between San Diego and Los Angeles, and each is approximately a one hour’s drive from here. And of course, Disneyland is 30 minutes up the road. Visit these locales for the day, then come home to the beach!

The free flowing, indoor-outdoor design is spacious and bright. View your flat screen TVs while lounging in the family room, or from your king-sized bed with the Westin Hotel’s “Heavenly Pillow-top” mattress. There’s room for one more to slumber on the queen-sized sofa bed. Custom closets offer plenty of storage, plus there are 2 ceiling fans and a real, gas fireplace.

The custom kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and various spices, and includes a dishwasher and restaurant-grade Bertazzoni range. The bath is Jack & Jill style, allowing access from both the bedroom and family room. And, there are two bath sinks, perfect for multiple guests.

THE BEACH

Directly in front is Mariposa Point Beach, perfect for swimming, surfing, body boarding and fishing. The wave breaks over a small reef in front, and is typically best for surfing at a medium tide rising high. There are many other surf breaks within a very short walking distance, including T-Street Beach. World-class surfing at Trestles and San-O is just a 10-minute drive south. At low tide, the reef in front reveals star fish, sea anemones, sea urchins, muscles, snails, etc.

Our quaint downtown area is only a few walking blocks away, offering stylish boutiques, surf shops, antique shops, and local or international cuisine. There is also a farmer’s market every Sunday, offering souvenirs, art, and locally grown organic fruits, vegetables and herbs. Take a short stroll to our pier, where you can take in the sun and ocean breezes, or fish, or relax and dine at Fisherman’s restaurant.

DAILY ADVENTURES NEARBY:

Los Angeles in one-hour's drive north, or San Diego is one hour's drive south.

• Theme parks, etc: Disneyland, Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Knott’s Berry Farm and Legoland are approximately one-hour’s drive.

• San Clemente’s new Aquatic Center features an olympic-sized pool, and an “aquatic playground” for the little ones, just a 5 minute's drive

• Dana Point Harbor is a ten-minute drive north, with numerous options for shopping, dining, or deep-sea fishing. You can also rent kayaks, jet skis and sail boats, or take the short boat ride to our local catalina island.

• Laguna Beach is our neighboring seaside community, renowned for its gorgeous beaches, galleries, art festivals, and Pageant of the Masters (July).

• Big Bear Ski Resort is two-hours away, close enough for a day trip or over-nighter.

• Catch the “Surfliner Amtrak” train from our pier for a one-hour seaside excursion down the coast to San Diego, or to the Del Mar Race track (july 17-sept 4), or to the Angel’s or Padre's stadiums for baseball games.

Doug and I are San Clemente natives, who've spent our entire lives surfing San Clemente. In 1999, we purchased this 4-unit condo, that offers spacious decks with ocean views, is a 1 minute stroll to the beach and to our beach trail. Of the four units, we live in one unit, two are vacation rentals and the fourth is home to our long term renter.

Relaxing Vacation

Great location to the beach . Close to walk to shops and restaurants in town. This place was very clean and had a great view of the ocean. We were able to eat out on the deck or relax and have a glass of wine over looking the ocean and hearing the waves. No car needed. We would definitely come back here again!

great spot by the ocean

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the San Clemente condo. It was everything we had hoped for. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. The bedroom is a good size with a king size bed. The living room is large and includes a big screen TV mounted on the wall. Nice! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare whatever meals you feel like fixing. We chose to eat in for breakfast every day and cook two dinners at the condo. The patio has a great view of the ocean. It’s a relatively small view, but oh so nice. In our view, the condo is a perfect space for a couple. Any more than that and it would be a bit cramped. There is a garage that comes with the condo. The garage was built at a time when cars were much smaller. Our rental compact fit into it ok, but an SUV would definitely not be able to use it. There is parking along the street, but it seemed to be hit or miss.

The ocean is but a short walk away. Even though it was overcast almost every day, we spent a lot of time along the beach. There is a popular trail that runs next to the beach that is about five miles round trip. One morning I had a great time running the full five miles. The iconic San Clemente pier is but a 15 minute walk south of the condo. There are some great views of the shore and of the ocean from the end of the pier. If you’re lucky you might even see a migrating whale.

There are several good places to eat close by. Fisherman’s is a great restaurant and bar located on the pier. We enjoyed a nice dinner on the bar side one night as well as several evenings of drinks at sunset. The ocean views from the restaurant are spectacular. Vine is a nice upscale restaurant with great food. It’s pricey but worth it. For groceries, Ralph’s is located a short drive away.

Sheryl was very helpful to us. We communicated with her almost exclusively through text and emails. In the condo there is a very detailed description of what you need to know about the unit including a number of rules. It was clear to us that Sheryl expects visitors to take care of the property. That worked for us. We would definitely recommend the property to other couples looking for a great place to stay by the beautiful beach.

The apartment was perfect as was the location with all the comforts of home. A short walk down to the beach with beach gear and parking, just what we were looking for. The owners made sure everything was available to us to have a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Amazing experience and Sheryl was such a wonderful host, easy to contact. The apartment was in a prime spot with a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and upscale and modern. Perfect weekend getaway. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

San Clemente is centrally located between San Diego (an hour's drive south) and Los Angeles (an hour's drive north).

San Diego attractions include Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Padres and Charger's games, World Class Golfing at Torrey Pines, downtown San Diego, Old Town, the cities of Del Mar and La Jolla and numerous gorgeous beaches.

Disneyland is a 40 minute's drive north, with Knott's Berry Farm a little further up the road.

Los Angeles is approximately one hour's drive north, which includes Hollywood, Universal Studios, Laker's and Clipper's games. Or, visit many of its museums, including The Ghetty, LACMA or MOCA. And of course you could check out LA's Southside, hitting Santa Monica beaches or Venice. LA offers a variety of shopping, including everywhere from Melrose to Rodeo Drive.
