Overview

About the property

An incredible ocean view in a sweet, spotless cottage with GOOD BEDS

If an amazing view in a quintessential beach town with miles of walking beach, with all the amenities you need, are your top priorities, then this is the cottage for you!

This sweet, spotless cottage sits high on the Neskowin Crest, has a magnificent view of the ocean, yet is just a one-half mile walk to the beach.. You can walk for miles on this gorgeous beach, with few other people, as this is a wonderfully small town. The cottage was recently updated with all new windows, siding, insulation and a new bath. Also, don't miss the fact that it has an AMAZING VIEW of the ocean and beach from high above Neskowin. (Please note that during the wetter Spring months you may have to drive one mile to the beach access in Neskowin, due to a wet pathway.)

This 2 bedroom home features a Queen sized bed with lovely linens and new, good-quality (Ethan Allen) mattresses, plus a second bedroom with a trundle bed that can sleep two guests. The bath is newly updated with a shower (no tub).

The kitchen is ready for you, with lots of kitchen supplies and cookware, electric stove, coffee maker and refrigerator. Cable TV and a comfortable living room. (Please note that there is no WiFi, but you can access it at Hawk Creek Café in Neskowin.)

A wall of new, huge picture windows line the sitting and living area. Watch the waves crash and the sun set each evening. Enjoy sitting outside on the private patio. You can walk to the beach in a matter of minutes most of the year. If there is a rainy spell the path to the beacg may not be passable, however it is just one mile to walk or drive the core area of Neskowin.

A specialty grocery store and a wonderful small café is also available in Neskowin. Don't miss the Hawk Creek Café pizza, clam chowder and great sandwiches and salads.

Four person maximum. There is an extra $10 fee per night for guests over 2. Maximum 4 guests. Not safe for children due to high retaining walls.

NO DOGS ALLOWED.

Immaculate peaceful retreat

  • 4 of 5

Absolutely loved our peaceful, relaxing stay at this place. Clean, private, with an incredible 180 of the ocean from up on the bluffs. Many hours spent gazing at the ocean. Rustic and quaint. We will be back!

Wonderful view, casual charm.

  • 3 of 5

The house has comfortable beds, nice view but no storage for clothing, bathroom toiletries or food. All the drawers were filled with linens. We had to buy dish soap, hand soap and ran out of toilet paper. There isn't a place to eat indoors.

Kind of a cute home but a little over decorated and filled with odd assortment of furniture.

Owner's Response: I hope that future guests will read our many wonderful reviews...the photos online clearly show the style and charm of the cottage. If supplies were short we certainly would have been able to take care of that with a quick call to the manager.

Very clean and tidy. Amazing view of the ocean, quiet private setting. Charming cottage.

  • 4 of 5

Had to do some work to get the TV working but we received the help we needed from management and owner. Rented 2 DVDs to watch but the player never did work.

Could have been a little more generous with the paper products. Used the last paper towel in the roll with no backup, only 1 & a half rolls of toilet paper for 4 people for 3 days. We needed to buy more. No Kleenex. Which also speeded up the use of toilet paper :)

Plenty of extra blankets, comfortable beds, beautiful view! Fireplace worked perfect and temperature was nice even without it. Oven worked well, had all the kitchen supplies we needed.

Beautiful cottage, we had a lovely stay! We would return for sure.

1,000,000 dollar view, cottage not so much

  • 3 of 5

We reserved this cottage mainly due to its being so high off the sea level. (my wife is freaked out about tsunamis). And let me tell you, the location did not disappoint > the view from the cottage was amazing, plus proximity to town was an added bonus.

The cottage itself was a bit of a different story. In short it definitely needs some remodeling. Mainly is the musty old smell ( minus 2 stars for this). We tried to open all the windows, burn a candle (provided by the host) but the smell did not go away. Maybe it was sitting for a bit of time unused, I don’t know, but the smell definitely bothered us and thus affected overall enjoyment of our stay.

The furniture was dated, and in general cottage provided a slightly washed look/feel. Some might find it romantic, but there is a fine line between charming and old/smelly, of course it depends on your tastes and expectations.

On the positive side: the fireplace was great, new shower/bathroom.

Owner's Response: Interesting. The cottage kitchen is updated, fully equipped, and has new beds and appliances. The bath is completely updated. The decor is definitely 60's vintage by design. Our guests tell us that they love the cottage, and we are disappointed if anyone has an issue. Had we known we could have dropped by to see what the issue could have been.

10 stars....perfect view and charm!

  • 5 of 5

A close friend, my mom and I stayed at your cottage for the week of March 13-17 and it was just perfect in every way. From the moment we walked in to the tearful goodbye's....We loved all of the decor and the careful details....from the couch pillows, to the "blue" things in the kitchen...the monogrammed towels...it was just precious!! LOVED the propane stove....wow, just press a button and instant ambiance! The views are spectacular from the house. We never felt we "left" the ocean because we came home to the view. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and peaceful (or maybe we were the only renters on the hill, haha). The cafe down the road is wonderful. The quiche and mocha is superb (and I'm a mocha connoisseur) and the people working there are very friendly. The short drive is nothing, so it wasn't inconvenient to us at all. The beach in Neskowin is absolutely perfect. Quiet, very few people and very secluded. Also, Proposal Rock makes it just so picturesque. It's a very special part of the coastline, for sure. It almost feels like a private beach there in Neskowin. We will definitely be back...we are making plans for May again and will stay at this cottage. So many memories were made and we want to make more. Thank you for everything! I give this 10 stars!

Seagull's View Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Very nice and well equipped home in the hills above Neskowin. Expansive ocean views. A little bit of a hike to the shore and to town but certainly doable. Good location as a jumping off point for the many coastal hikes and state parks in the area. Kitchen was well provisioned and gas fireplace worked perfectly. Nice to be able to read a book in front of the fire and look out the large front windows onto the wild pacific of the Oregon coast.
