Our house is a 3-family house. The apartment is on the ground floor, has a renovated kitchen and is rustic, cozy and homey. You will feel a couple or a family with up to 5 people, very comfortable!

In the Garden - right outside the apartment - we have a patio, a lawn and a large playground beat faster the hearts of children.

You can enjoy fresh mountain air and marvel at the mighty seasonal and very impressive event stream that plunges more than 50 meters above the rock at depth. Also, you will impress the unique view of the mountains.

On request we can organize a lovely breakfast with homemade bread, own alpine butter and cheese-and other fine things that will make you strong for an exciting and unforgettable day in the world famous mountains.

On arrival you will be personally received by us. During your stay we will do our best to your needs with warmth and genuine hospitality meet.

The Burglaunen train station is only 5 minutes walk away.

In 5 minutes Grindelwald is accessible by car and Interlaken is just 20 minutes drive away from us.

Burglaunen is in a very central location for day trips throughout Switzerland.

This is a WONDERFUL spot to choose as a home base for visiting the greater Grindelwald area!

We had a delightful stay in the apartment. Edith is a superb source of advice about activities in the greater Grindelwald area. The apartment is clean, spacious, and very well situated to visit all of the surrounding areas.

Access to the local rail system is a five minute walk away.

I have to emphasize again how hospitable the hosts are. Toys for the kids, two friendly cats, advice about the area, etc. I would highly recommend this box for our families visiting the area.

PERFECTION

My family of 6 recently stayed here, and we could not have been happier! Edith was the perfect host. The views are breathtaking and the location couldn't be better. We all looked forward to coming home after a long day of sightseeing to relax. We will definitely be back and would HIGHLY recommend this house.

Wonderful Chalet Getaway

Our family of 5 (3 teen boys) had a wonderful experience in this sweet home. It was very clean and well equipped. The views were beautiful and we had plenty of room. Edith, Bruno and their children were very friendly and engaging. Edith spent time with us over a cup of coffee giving us information about the area and making suggestions that were much appreciated. The family lives above on the second and third floors.

Wifi was excellent. It has to be for us when traveling with teen.

There is a lot of hiking trails and bicyclist everywhere. The town is very close with many restaurants.

Great energy and a wonderful sense of peace. We loved our stay and hope to be back soon. Maybe we will ski next time.

Clean comfortable walkout apartment

We stayed in this apartment with our family of two adults and three children for a week. The apartment was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We thought the weekly price they charged us was very reasonable compared to other accommodations in Switzerland that we stayed in. We payed through the VRBO website which was very convenient.The host family was very welcoming and friendly. My children enjoyed playing with their 12 year old son on their trampoline. They gave helpful advice regarding things to do. There was no laundry however the owner offered to do a laundry load for us which was very generous. The accommodation was located on a hobby farm outside of Grindalwald, maybe a ten minute drive. They provided us with a pass we could use to take a train into Grindelwald so as to avoid paying for parking in Grindalwald(2.5 Swiss francs per hour) The station was about a ten minute walk from the house. We drove three times over to the Gondola used to access Murren/Gimmelwald and parked our car at the Gondola base for 4-5 hours each time for 6-7 Swiss francs. It was maybe a 20 minute drive and much easier with a family to just drive than to take the train or bus.The view from the back outdoor sitting area was very enjoyable. One drawback noted by other reviewers was that occasionally one could catch a whiff of diesel fumes from a generator. This seemed to be related to the use of the stove fan. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this accommodation and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Owner's Response: Es ist unser höchstes Ziel, unseren Gästen einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Dass der Heizungsölgeschmack je nach Wetter stören kann, das ist uns bewusst und tut uns sehr leid. Das wird aber ab Oktober 2016 kein Problem mehr sein!!! Die Heizung wird neu gemacht und es wird dann kein Öl mehr geben. Wir machen eine Holz-Pellet-Heizung. :-) Wir nehmen die Feedbacks der Gäste ernst und geben unser Bestes, um höchste Qualität zu bieten.

Summer Vacation

The apartment was clean and fully loaded with everything you need in the kitchen. Excellent hospitality from the family. The location of the apartment is very convenient to catch a train. We did not use our car. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who would like to live in countryside and specially families with children. The apartment is located very close to many attractions in Grindlewlad. Host family is very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time.

Winter holiday January 2014

Everything was as described. We were very well looked after. Personal service was great. The apartment was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. It was in a very good position to use the train to Grindelwald so we did not use the car all week. We would highly recommend it to friends if they wanted to visit the area. It was a very nice place to stay.

Burglauenen lies between Interlaken and Grindelwald and is to say the gateway to the world-famous glacier village. Politically we belong to the municipality Grindelwald.

Arriving by car:

By car you can reach us via national roads (highways) from Basel, Geneva or Zurich via Bern to Spiez or via Lucerne to Sarnen. Via Interlaken you can reach us on well-developed national and cantonal roads.

The motorways in Switzerland are subject to a fee. The fee is CHF 40.00 / year. Vignettes are available at the national border, at petrol stations and at post offices.

Arriving by train:

There are direct trains from many European cities to Interlaken every day. With a journey time of just over 20 minutes you reach Burglauenen.
