Gutschow house, built in 1895, a significant work of historicism (neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance), is the symbol of the southern Friedrichstrasse because of the elaborate facade, its location and history. It is the only hotel in this area that 100% of the second World War II has survived. Perhaps because 1910-1990 was the Mecca of the magicians here by magic headquarters of the world famous magician Conradi-Horster?
2006 The Greens conjured a unique project: all tenants have received the right of first refusal for the entire house and thus the possibility in partnership with investors (first former bank directors, filmmakers later) to buy the house and rehabilitate. 'Six of us - women' d'un certain age'- stayed here at the beginning of this winter and werewolf all delighted with our choice. The building is beautiful Itself, redolent of end of empire flourish, while the apartment, with the gracious proportions of at Earlier era is warm and welcoming. We loved the beautiful original wooden floors, decorative plasterwork on the the bedroom ceilings, the sense of space, as well as the terrific shower in a stylish, modern bathroom. Our internal homemakers thrilled to the quality and solidity of the linens and general fittings (and dreamy beds). The kitchen is really well equipped so we did not just eat breakfast there but some prepared meals too, though there are some good restaurants close by. The main room and the bedrooms are really roomy, not even with 6 of us did it ever feel crowded. Marion, our host in Berlin, which welcoming and gave some really useful tips on eating out and things to do, and his welcome package which chosen with care - organic and delicious.
The location is great! so close to Museum Island did it makes a very comfortable stroll before a trip to the unmissable Pergamon. But if walking's not your thing then the wonderful Berlin public transport system is accessible only 2 mins away at the Cook Street stop. Another visit you must make is to the Jewish Museum Which is so only 2 mins walk from the building. This is a great city for history and culture fans, so get booking! you will not regret choosing this apartment as your base for your explorations. But first get fit and keep your luggage minimal; there are two flights to walk up. ' (Love Curious Nelly, Rooms 11 and 12 have since 2013 by a lift.)
How to live in a palace
in one of the most beautiful monuments of the area: a 50 square meter high stately living room with 4 m high mahogany ceilings in a 120 square meter bright, quiet and comfortable luxury apartment in. 2 Floor of the house. The single monument was in 2014 completely renovated (new roof, elevator, balconies, windows, heating, water, electricity and sewage system, bathrooms etc.). Their appointment is top. In each unit there is satellite high definition LCD TV, stereo with DVD and CD player, Hi-Speed WiFi (100MB / s). The cleaning is carried out with gently dosed organic products, without plasticizers and fragrance free.

Sie können es sich wirklich kaum vorstellen, wie traumhaft schön diese Altbau-Wohnung ist. Herrlich viel Platz (über 100qm für 3 Zimmer), bester Zustand und perfekte Ausstattung für ein Zuhause auf Zeit. Gegenüber einem kleinen Hotelzimmer hat diese Wohnung nur Vorteile, speziell im Winter ist man dankbar für viel mehr "Auslauf" zum Lesen, Fernsehen und Spiele spielen.
Wir haben in der Wohnung nicht wirklich gekocht; durch den vorhandenen Kühlschrank Konnten wir die Delikatessen aus dem KaDeWe aber kaufen und zum Frühstück geniessen.
Die Verkehrsanbindung zur 2 verschiedenen U-Bahn-Lienien ist mit jeweils 150 - 200m Entfernung perfekt; in Berlin-Mitte brauchen sie kein Auto!
Der Vermieter und seine Familie sind sehr liebenwürdig, hilfsbereit und wahre Berlin-Kenner.

The apartment met our needs exactly. There was plenty of space and it was well and comfortably furnished. It was conveniently situated being close to public transport and we could eat locally as well as walk to many of the best places.
My only reservation is that I have not yet had my deposit returned which is disappointing
The apartment is elegant and equipped with comfortable chairs and beds. It's bright, beautiful, spacious and well equipped with all necessary appliances.

Apartment block is one of the few in the area that remains from before the war and has been lovingly restored and modernised. (The scaffolding out the front has not yet been removed though). Our apartment was incredibly spacious and fantastic for a family of 5. The kitchen was very well equipped so we could choose between cooking and eating out (at this point in our trip we were a bit over restaurant food). We also had access to a washing machine and dryer for a minimal additional charge (ours was not in the apartment). There is no air-con but this didn't bother us given the size of apartment and the large windows. 2 supermarkets were close by (the better one is the Lidl). It was 2 blocks either way to the metro so very easy to get around. We found it easy to use the buses as well.
Nino and Maria were very easy to deal with and very helpful.
This was our first visit to Europe and we spent a lot of time researching many properties, including hotels, before we booked. We wanted a more authentic experience and felt like an apartment in the city would offer us many opportunities to walk and see things we might not see if we stayed in a hotel. This location was excellent for exploring. The apartment was very clean and spacious and comfortable even though we didn't spend a lot of time inside. It was nice having three bedrooms and two full baths and we really enjoyed the balcony. We visited during a heatwave and would only suggest the use of fans for these times, although we understand temperatures in the 90s is very unusual for Berlin. We definitely recommend this apartment to families or larger groups. very convenient to restaurants, groceries, ATMs and short walks to Topography of Terror, Museum Island, CheckPoint Charlie, embassies, etc. Efficient and well-planned check-in and check-out. Everything was well explained and exactly as described in correspondence before our arrival.
We searched many locations before deciding on this one, we were not disappointed. Just a great space in a historic building with very tall, ornate ceilings and large common area. Perfect for groups to gather, before or after a day of touring. The apartment was clean and well decorated with some interesting older pieces. Comfortable beds in each bedroom and modern fixtures in bathrooms and kitchen. TV had English news channels, which was a bonus for us as our German is limited. Located less than 500 meters from Checkpoint Charlie but far enough from the tourist attractions to avoid the crowds. There is construction nearby but it didn't bother us since we were up early, it seemed to begin around 0700 on the weekdays. Great Indian restaurant across street. Several cafes and a grocery store nearby. Access to the apartment could not have been easier. Communication with Nino and Marian was great. Checking out of apartment was also simple and convenient.

This is the center where most attractions are within walking distance: 2 minutes to Checkpoint Charlie (the most famous symbol of the Cold War); Jewish Museum (the most important example of contemporary architecture) is our direct neighbor; 15 minutes Martin Gropius Bau (the main exhibition space); 20 minutes to the Potsdamer Platz (most popular attractions of the New Berlin); 15 minutes to the Gendarmenmarkt (one of the most beautiful market places); 30 minutes to the Brandenburg Gate (the symbol reunification) and the Reichstag (known landmarks); 30 minutes to Museum Island (UNESCO World Heritage) with: Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Old National Gallery, Bode Museum and Pergamon Museum. At Hallesches Tor (3 minutes) is the dock for Berlin's most popular boat tour: the bridge tour.
