Book this stunning place now!

First, a little advice - if you are thinking of staying here, stop thinking and book your stay. This was, hands down, the best vacation home we have experienced. It starts with the location steps from the fjord. Stunning views in every direction. Add to that being on a working sheep farm during lambing season made it that much more unique. The place is comfortable and we had all the amenities we needed. The distance from Akureyri was far enough away that we felt away from the business of a town, but close enough to venture in when we wanted. It was a perfect location from which to launch our day trips. We caught a glimpse of the northern lights while we were there (a rarity this late in the season), and on our last day a whale frolicking not far from the house (Insider Tip: Keep and eye out for the whale watch cruises as they pass the house. If they slow or stop, whales are sure to be nearby.) Thomas, Carmen, Ana-Bara, et al, were incredibly helpful and great with communication. We feel lucky to have experienced this part of Iceland with this as our home base, and we have plans to return here for a future visit.

Unbelievable

  • 5 of 5

This rental is a must If you are looking for a place to stay in North Iceland. The home is very nicely done and the view is priceless. You may be tempted to just sit here and gaze. We were hoping for northern lights but we are a little late in the year. Clean, modern so peaceful you won't be sorry you stayed here.

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing stay! The fjord is beautiful, especially in the evening. Owners/staff were helpful and pleasant, especially seeing that I had made a mistake in my booking which, if they hadn't of been so helpful, would have seen me without accommodation on my last day! The cabin/house is very clean and a good size for two people, with plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. The hot tub is amazing, and HUGE - although this does mean it takes a little while to fill, so plan ahead. We were treated to the northern lights over the fjord twice in 5 days, even though the KP index was low and some days were cloudy. Lovey lovey spot.

Beautiful location - everything you need

  • 5 of 5

Modern build house but landscaped into natural surroundings. Beautiful views from the bedroom and sitting room. Clean and well maintained. Kitchen fully equipped. The property is easy to find, use the instructions in the pdf that the host sends you but the house is also on google maps.

The house was left open for us when we arrived and the cleaner was available to meet us however, we bumped into Thomas when we arrived and he showed us around. The hot tub on the front porch has a beautiful view and we were able to sit in it watching the Northern Lights.

There are lots of activities around the local area as well as relaxing at the house. Akureyri is about a 20min drive away which is a pretty town with supermarkets, restaurants. We had a great day out driving over to Myvatn - go and see the bubbling mud and steam vents as well as going to the thermal pools at Myvatn. I would stay here again as there are still lots more places to explore! I would also recommend this property to friends and family.

Awesome Stay in a Wonderful Area

  • 5 of 5

House Sulur was absolutely fantastic for my husband and I. We thoroughly enjoyed the "hot pot", especially on a freezing night. Everything was just as described and we couldn't ask for a lovelier stay and time in Northern Iceland. We highly recommend it.
