Secluded retreat with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

In April, My wife and I stayed in Iceland for our honeymoon. Before arriving, Maja sent us a list of directions and travel itineraries for our stay. After picking up our rental car, we followed her suggestions, and took a very scenic drive to the cabin. Upon arrival, the cabin was heated and very clean with all the necessary amenities. Shortly after, we met Maja who was very friendly and communicative. The next day, we followed her travel itinerary and had some great views of waterfalls, glaciers, and black-sand beaches. That night, we witnessed the elusive Northern Lights from our cabin window. My wife and I had an enjoyable stay and would definitely stay at "Bjalla" again!

Beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with the accommodations. We had everything we needed. Maja was available for questions and when our rental car wouldn't start. We were able to view the Northern Lights from the warmth of the cottage. If we ever go back we will be staying here again.

Perfect spot to relax and be still after a day of exploring!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent the week at Bjalli and we want to go back! It was close to so many of the things that we wanted to see in southern Iceland but out of the way so we didn't hear traffic or see people unless we chose to. It was clean and offered plenty of space for our family of four. We loved that there was a kitchen and fridge so that we could prepare our meals and sitting space to read and reflect in the evening after day trips. Maja had amazing ideas of things to see and great directions on how to get to some of the out of the way things we probably wouldn't have seen. She gave my wife a great location where she could buy some Icelandic yarn and offered to be available if we ever needed anything. Well worth it, we are planning our off-season trip!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I spent three nights in April and absolutely loved every moment. It was wild and windy weather for the most part, with some periods of sun. Beautiful views everywhere. The cottage was warm and cozy and had everything we needed to be comfortable, to cook and just relax. Maja was a lovely and attentive host, before and during our trip. Can't say enough about the wonderful stay we had at this beautiful location. Highly recommend.
