Great layout. Spotless!
A great cabin near the Blue Ridge Parkway and all Asheville has to offer. Owner is very attentive, yet leaves you alone, unless you need something. Entire cabin is spotless and there was lots of supplies
After a mixup on arrival, our stay was great.
Will definitely stay there again..
It was a pleasure to meet you and have you stay at our cabin. Thanks so much for your kind words! Hope you can come again soon! Glad you had a great visit to the mountains!
This is our third stay at this wonderful cabin nestled back in the trees! It has everything you could want and more including a wood burning fireplace and any conceivably cooking equipment! Mitzi was great communicating everything we needed to know! We will definitely be back!
So very glad you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for visiting our cabin again!!!
Cozy, quaint & also inviting.
Very easy check-in, greeted by the owners, who were very friendly. Enjoyed our stay so much. Will definitely stay there in the future.
Loved this cabin and the owners were extremely helpful.
This cabin was perfect for our families "after Christmas" getaway. It was well stocked with towels, sheets, extra blankets, coffee, paper towels, dishes, movies & games for the family. Very clean, very well kept, and nicely decorated. My 7 year old grandson said "it was perfect and he loved it". I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay that's close to Maggie Valley and Asheville and yet away from the beaten path, or just a nice peaceful place to get away for a few days. The porch is great with rocking chairs and a swing for relaxing in. There's a nice deck as well. There's a fireplace for the cooler nights and firewood for a fire. The pictures on VRBO were good but the cabin was better! The homeowners were very nice and gave us lots of good information for our visit. They even invited us to attend church with them, unfortunately we were not able to attend as we had to hit the road. So glad we found this cabin on such short notice. The only negative I can think of is, if the weather is icy or snowy, you may have a problem getting up the hill to the cabin, but it's a cabin in the mountains, so that's to be expected. Our weather was great and we had no problem getting there at all. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your cabin, we had a great time and your directions and helpful notes were on spot! So glad you enjoyed our cabin! Thanks for your kind words! Glad our info was helpful for your trip and that you found what you needed while there.
Cozy and Comfortable
It's a cozy and comfortable cabin, very private and quiet, with a nice covered outdoor porch to enjoy the outdoor air. Inside is spacious and well-lit and clean, the kitchen is well-equipped and you'll find many basics you might forget in the pantry, and there's an Ingle's supermarket not far away for your food provisions. Downtown Asheville isn't far away.
Had no problems with cell service and there's Wifi - but there were only 3 or 4 television channels - if you want to watch tv at night, bring DVD's or a streaming device.
(my GPS left me 500 feet short of the cabin, at some other house - drive all the way to the top of the hill, turn right at the pumphouse, and there it is.)
Mountain Laurel Cabin is located west of Asheville and is a short 15-20 minute drive from so many of the attractions of the area, including Biltmore House, NC Arboretum, Grove Park Inn, Blue Ridge Parkway, and all the shops and restaurants of Downtown Asheville and Waynesville. The natural beauty of our area makes your trip worthwhile...the mountains, the rivers and streams and the wonderful change of seasons all draw you to Mountain Laurel!
About Mitzi Riddle
My husband and I and his brother and wife bought this property in the 90's. From the timber that had to be removed for the road and housesite, they sawed all the lumber to build the cabin. We even had the hardwood floors and cabinets made from the lumber the boys sawed at our sawmill! We love to have guests enjoy the "fruit of our labors" here in our beautiful mountains!
Why Mitzi Riddle chose Candler
There are so many beautiful cabins in our area for you to enjoy, but we invite you to give us a try! We all grew up in the beautiful mountains of WNC and wanted a place for others to get to experience a little bit of what we are blessed to enjoy every day!
What makes this Cabin unique
We do all we can to make your visit one you will enjoy and talk about for weeks to come! If it is quiet and if it is rest you crave, you can definitely find it here at Mountain Laurel! But you are still only a short drive away from "city life" and all the ammenities it holds. The cabin is fully stocked with most supplies you will need for your trip, so just load up the car and head to the mountains!
