Location great/plenty of space for families
Lovely apartment in Munich
We loved staying here, it was perfect for Christmas with our family of 6 and extended family celebrating Christmas Day. Plenty of space and great location. The only reason we give it a four out of five stars is we must had a miscommunication about check out time. We thought we had until 11 am but the cleaner arrived at 10 am - We rushed to be out by
1030 and ended up waiting on the sidewalk with all of our luggage for our rental car on a cold morning. Not the end of the world, but would have been nicer to wait in the warm apartment.
Great location but oddities
The good: great location, huge place, very clean and really nice. The shower and master bath are awesome. Access to the Christmas markets, neighborhood restaurants and bars, and the metro is first rate.
The odd parts: There definitely are not three bedrooms. There is only one true bedroom. You walk downstairs and pass through an area with a bed in it to get to the true bedroom. Im not sure where the third bedroom is, so it must have been the futon in the entry way to the living room. This futon is in the place of the Vespa in one of the pictures. The full bath is through the true bedroom, so all guests needing a shower go through the master bedroom to get there. The lights are as everyone else describes. Labeling them would help a ton. There is no welcome book like we are used to seeing, so you gotta figure things out yourself. Just explaining the lights and the shades would be worth the effort. The listing is not accurate in several ways, but especially in one critical part: there is no parking. You park on the street or in a public ramp a few blocks away. Check in was a little stressful. I gave the owner our flight times and notified when we landed at the airport. When we got to the apartment he was still over a half hour out so we were huddled outside in the rain waiting for a neighbor to come let us in. Did not leave one of the women in the best of moods.
Communication with the owner was not as bad as some reviews, but definitely hit or miss. Very responsive when called from the airport and upon arriving at the apartment while trying to find someone to let us in, and when telling us there was no parking. However, when the clothes dryer wasnt working properly and we were looking for the toaster, did not get any response to those, so a bit of frustration from my group. This is a good big place for families or very tolerant friends. However the lack of privacy (one bedroom, one full bath in the master bedroom) may be an issue. I think three couples traveling together would have a problem here, if not just for the morning logistics alone.
Great location, walking distance to old town and a beautiful apartment.
Check-in was a bit of a problem, but once that was sorted out everything went smooth. This is a very large apartment that is immaculate and very clean. The neighborhood was warm and inviting and had several very good restaurants. My kids were growing tired of traditional German food and found the burrito shop across the street a welcome change. We had a blast at the Christmas Market and just walking around old town Munich. The tube exit was just a block away and only two stops from the train station. Very easy to get around. I will be back.
Nice home in good location
The apartment is a good size and a very convenient location close to public transportation. The layout was a bit different with most of the sleeping areas in the bottom story that you need to go down stairs to access along with the only full-size bathroom. There is a half-bath upstairs along with some trundle/futon beds as well.
The apartment is located in the heart of downtown about 4 minutes away from the German Museum. For the Isar Gate Square, offers its historic city walls, a gate to the former Old Town is within walking distance as fast as the Sendlinger-Tor-Platz, with its historic city gate to the south and the same shopping street. The Gardener Place with his eponymous theater space is 3 minutes from the town house away within walking distance to get on the Reichenbachroad with many trendy boutiques and cafes and after 200m to the world-famous Viktualienmarket. From then on, they are practically in the center at Marienplatz, the Town Hall or the Maximilian Street for shopping, at the Opera Square, Odeon Square to marvel, courtyard garden of the Residence. The newly-naturalized Isar with its many recreational opportunities where Munich can relax and unwind, can be reached at 200 m by foot, from where they come in a short time walk to the zoo
