Our house is close enough to enjoy all the activities in the Gorge, but far enough in the country for a peaceful get away. The house is cozy enough for 2, and spacious enough for a group. Just 6 miles from Hood River, OR, it's perfect for couples, families, or wedding guests. An open floor plan makes the house seem larger than 1700 square feet. Windows and light surround the great room, providing views of orchard, wooded hills and mountain. The kitchen provides everything needed for meals, including staples for baking, spices, condiments, and sundries. Both bedrooms have new comfortable king beds with all new cotton bedding, down comforters and pillows. Two oversize couches in the great room easily convert to twin beds. A luxurious master bath includes a cast iron soaking tub, walk in shower, sauna, and heated tile floor. The guest bath has a walk in shower. All 3 bathrooms have hairdryers and straitners, as well as extra supplies.. The porch wraps around the house, with plenty of furniture for relaxing outside or gathering with friends. The patio includes a BBQ, propane fire pit, and Internet are provided. The 2 smart TV's are hooked up to Roku. A private 500 square ft. apartment above the garage is available as part of the vacation rental. Just to be clear, the apartment is always rented with the house for the same price, if you don't need the apartment, it remains empty. The apartment has a queen bed and two twins, a full bath with tub shower combo, a mini kitchen, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We also have a portable crib and high chair available. Our guest closset holds games and books, as well as a few toys and coloring books. We have a resident outdoor only cat on the property, 'Jane'. She comes and goes in and out of the garage through a pet door, where she has food, water and beds. She keeps us mice free, she can take care of herself with any dog, and she is super friendly. Although the garage is not included , there is space for gear if needed.

BEST VACATION EVER
Words cannot express how amazing this house was! First, I want to say that Colette was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We had great communication before my stay, and after.
The house is at the end of the road, away from all the noise. It sits on a hill, and you have an AMAZING view of Mt. Hood from the living room window and front porch.
My family and I did most of our adventures in Hood River, Oregon, however this house was only about 45-hour drive to our destinations each day, and the scenic drives were amazing. The owners of the house have seriously thought of EVERYTHING! I was so impressed when I saw a "just in case" basket filled with toothbrushes/toothpaste and other items you may forget. They take the "worry" out of everything.
The furnishings on the house are fantastic. Wood floors, granite countertops, heated floors in the bathroom, a sauna, fluffy blankets- the list goes on and on!
The house also came with an "instruction" book on how to pretty much work every appliance/entertainment unit in the house, which was great.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND- you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to come back all the way from Texas :)
Perfect setting for a family get-away
Collette was extremely communicative throughout the entire process from booking to post-stay. We decided at the last minute to extend our stay and she accommodated our request for an additional night which allowed us to add to the memories of this trip.
Colette's house is absolutely gorgeous - from the location and views to the amenities, it is the perfect base for exploring the Hood River area. The house is large and accommodated our family of 10 (plus dog and baby) very easily. The bedrooms have a fabulous view of Mt. Hood - what a sight to wake up to in the mornings and to sit and have coffee. The apartment above the garage was additional space that helped our large group spread out and have a comfortable stay. Our puppy loved the open spaces and lawn area. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms have all the amenities needed (if you don't want to carry your own). The instruction book in the house made it very easy to find things.
Though the house is on the WA side of the river, its proximity to Hood River makes it a perfect base for any visit to the area. We'd love to come back again and stay here.
Loved the location. The house was well equipped for everything we needed. Will definitely look to rent again.
We were in White Salmon for a wedding and very much enjoyed our stay here. Collette was incredibly responsive and helpful. The kitchen was very well stocked (seriously - so many spices and plenty of cookware) and there were so many other amenities (even a curling iron and hair products) that made the stay all the better. I would absolutely stay here again.
Great place, near all outdoor activities the area has to offer.
We enjoyed the house and owners were extremely responsive and helpful. A hidden jewel.
Wonderful house, peaceful and a beautful view
Our family very much enjoyed the house and all the amenities. Everything we needed was supplied and in the kitchen. The bathrooms with soap and shampoo is always appreciated.
The beds were very comfortable and my 3 sons enjoyed the apartment and space to themselves.
We ended most evenings on the porch with a view of Mt Hood and of course the resident cat, Jane. She is very sweet and has food and water in the garage with her own kitty door.
Colette is very responsive answering questions or sending someone over to help.
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
