Come try something new and adventurous. Stay at our yurt and enjoy the best of both worlds. You can feel a closeness to nature while not skimping on amenities as our yurt is outfitted with everything you need to have wonderful retreat in a secluded woodland mountain setting. Though you will feel like you are in a remote location, you will only be 5 minutes from groceries and restaurants, 10 -15 minutes from Biltmore and eclectic downtown Asheville, and within any hour from most of what Western North Carolina has to offer. If you want to take a hike, the Mountains to Sea Trail is only 150 yards from your doorstep. If you head south, it is a 45 minute hike to the Folk Art Center. If you head north it is only a fifteen minute hike to an awesome overlook. When you get back you can lounge on our spacious deck and take in the mountain scenery before you start grilling dinner. You might then want to make the 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville to hear some good music at one of Asheville’s many venues. Another option would to be to head 20 minutes east to quaint Black Mountain for a walk around. Needless to say this is a romantic spot for a couple to reconnect or bring your kids or another couple as there is plenty of room for them. If you have never been in a yurt, you are in for a comforting experience that living “in the round” creates. So don’t hesitate and come stay with us for a few days or a week and return home feeling relaxed and renewed.

Perfect little getaway
Loved the stay. The weather, privacy, hot tub, peacefulness was all perfect. Wife and I really enjoyed it for our anniversary.
Everything was clearly explained in the description of the property. I loved it !
Having the privacy of the yurt up a steep gravel road was perfect. The closeness to the Mountain to Sea trail was the BEST! I ended up going by myself when my friend was unable to make it and I felt perfectly comfortable there. The yurt was clean and spacious and the owner had everything set up for a comfortable stay. I loved seeing all the stars at night and the night sounds were exactly what I expected. Dog barking was really far off and just for a brief period and seriously- YOU ARE IN NATURE! Sounds are normal. It was soothing and close proximity to downtown and really close to Biltmore. Loved having a grocery store just down the road, too! Ideal location and a welcoming place to come back to after any Asheville adventure.
Nice and secluded. Relatively close to everything (Biltmore / downtown Asheville). Overall I really enjoyed it.
Peaceful and cozy, just the right size, great location
The Yurt was awesome, a very cool experience and highly recommended. It was an easy 10 minute drive into Asheville and very close to Warren Wilson College. We were here dropping our daughter off at Warren Wilson College so will be taking many trips back here over the next 4 years. My only constructive criticism would be that when the water is running (e.g. washing dishes or when toilet is flushed) it is REALLY loud.
With that said, it was a great vacation rental and we will definitely be back.
Sometimes our water pressure reducer that protects our pipes makes noise. I am working on a “fix”.
We can’t say enough how we enjoyed staying in this yurt it was everything we needed . So close to town we hiked everyday that we were there , great hiking right from the place . Definitely have idea to build one of our own , love the privacy the birds are so loud it’s likd your in the trees , Asheville was so much fun , definitely will make another visit !!
The other reviews on this property can be a bit misleading in our experience:
-There was a dog that sporadically barked but it was not constant and at night just once for about a half hour well before we went to bed.
-The hot tub was not dirty, it was perfectly fine in terms of cleanliness. The one frustrating thing was that the jets would turn on at random times and, from our understanding, you could not control when that was.
-The road is definitely steep and rocky, but that comes with the territory since you're on the side of a mountain. If it's winter and slippery, you're taking a chance, but in the absence of snow and ice on the ground, which is obviously rare in the area, you shouldn't have a problem, but don't be silly and expect a smooth drive.
-MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS SIMMS GIVES YOU. I did not do this and ended up on the wrong side of the mountain.
-The view shown from the deck is not the view you will get from the yurt. Perhaps if the branches were trimmed to be able to see from the hot tub out to the adjacent mountains you would be able to see, but there are currently branches in the way. You can go up to the lodge at the top of the road and get a nice view there, but it is very steep, I would just suggest walking.
-The yurt itself is awesome! We had an awesome time and can't say enough good things about the enclosure itself. Decorated fantastically and very homey. Exactly what we were looking for in a new experience.
Access to the property is by a 1 mile gravel road that does not require 4 wheel drive. We are 15 minutes from Biltmore and downtown Asheville
