Why Wade and Julie Heaton chose Alton

Alton is a peaceful community nestled in a secluded, quiet farming valley just a few miles from the main road. The valley is surrounded by unbelievable scenery and is truly a special place. One guest said it best, "If there were more places like Alton, the world would be a better place!"

What makes this lodge unique

This is a real log home with some fantastic modern twists. The kitchen is great to make gourmet meals or simple staples to help you spend more time with the ones you love. There is lots of space with the open floor plan to accommodate just a few or a large crowd. We have a beautiful outdoor firepit to accommodate a large group along with a outdoor amphitheater with log benches. The lodge is located on 20 acres, providing lots of room for activities....including playing games on the 30,000 sf lawn, a sand volleyball court, a golf driving range, horseshoe pit or archery range. Or just sit on one of the two decks and enjoy the view and the quiet.

Beautiful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is big and spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen and in the bedrooms. The kids loved the lofts in the room. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays! Everyone is asking when we can go back!

Beatiful Property, Beautiful Nature, Beautiful People

  • 5 of 5

We chose Alton Lodge because it was located between Zion NP and Bryce Canyon NP, and it turned out to be one of the best retreats! Thanks to the owners, Wade and Julie, for welcoming us upon arrival. Not only we liked the comfort of this log house, we also loved beautiful view of sunrise and sunset from the living room... We were informed in advance that the separate apartments (2 rooms) would be occupied, but the main lodge (9 rooms) was more than enough for our group of 40 people - with the "maximum occupancy."

Wi-Fi got overloaded sometimes because we were too many, but the owner helped us reset a router and we decided to moderate Wi-Fi use without a problem. I loved playing pool but the wall was just too close (><; I also advise future visitors to moderate shower use as it may get colder if you take a hot shower for an extended time or in multiple rooms at once. After all, Alton is a peaceful village with a religious community - the world would be better if we could build such peaceful cities and nations.

Nice facility with responsive owners

  • 5 of 5

With a kitchen and sitting room large enough to accommodate groups of 25+, this house is a real find. It is well-appointed with everything you need and is located on a large lot with a beautiful lawn, a horseshoe pit, a firepit, a golf driving range, a sand volleyball court, and archery targets. The owners are super responsive. Upon checking in, we discovered that the previous guests had lost one of the billiard balls. The very next day, a new set of billiard balls was on the doorstep. We had a wonderful experience and give this property a perfect rating!

Great location for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 37 people and this house was perfect. The first day it rained so we all ended up in the house all day. There was enough room that people weren't tripping all over each other. Each family had their own room and bathroom, which was very nice. Wade and Julie were patient and answered our questions before our stay and some up after check I. To make sure we didn't have any questions. We didn't even use all the activities the lodge provided. About and hour to Bryce and Zion National Parks. Be aware Alton is a small town, more of a collections of houses. Closest Wal-Mart was 45 minutes away, so come prepared.
