About Rick Tasch
I built Island Retreat in 2000 with the help of a very accomplished local contractor. I enjoy being there whenever possible. I live with my daughters in Traverse City, Mi., about three hours from Drummond. I am an Ann Arbor native, a big sports fan and nature lover.

Winter Weekend
This quiet property on the water was great for a weekend trip during the winter. Great location and amenities. Would definitely rent again.
Bird Hunting Trip
The cabin was perfect for us for the 3 day weekend trip. Very comfortable with plenty of room. Great view of the bay.
Beautiful views
The location and view are absolutely beautiful. The loft does not have a couch/futon. It has a couch. One of my friends who was expecting a futon slept on a couch. Bring your own towels, the ones provided are threadbare. Bring toilet paper, there may be only one roll. I would suggest the property owner get rid of pictures of people in the listing and add pictures of the third bedroom and the loft. Had I known the loft didn’t have a futon I would have looked elsewhere for accommodations. Having said all that, we had a great time and enjoyed the unparalleled vhs collection. A few details could have made this a five star stay.
A Lovely Place to Stay on Drummond
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very spacious with a well appointed kitchen. Location was excellent and sitting on the dock talking and laughing was a so much fun. And, of course, the 4 wheeling around Drummond Island was awesome!
Relaxation galore
wonderful. No stress. Little bit of paradise in UP.
Amenities we're accurate. Too much personal property in closets limiting space. Oven was dirty.
