Beautiful house in the perfect location. A home away from home.
We had an amazing stay. Mary is the perfect host and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. The house is a home away from home. We had 4 adults and 4 children staying, and the house had everything we needed, and more. We enjoyed the big open fire in the evenings and eating outside in the beautiful garden by day. The house is very well equipped, and very cosy. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in in a holiday house and clearly no expense has been spared.
The location is perfect. Walking distance to Waterville town and right in the heart of one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland. A great spot for water sports or golf, our children had their first surf lessons nearby.
We are return visitors to Waterville town, but this is by far the nicest house we have stayed in there. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be planning future trips to this particular house.
Great location and wonderful little town! Mary was terrific!
Fantastic Holiday Home!
Mary O'Shea is a wonderful and responsive host. We were very pleased with the lovely cottage and the superb location. Within short walking distance to the town of Waterville, Waterville Golf Links and Hogs Head Golf Links you couldn't ask for a better location.
Day trips to the surrounding villages kept us busy while our daughter was participating in the Kerry Cup Golf Tournament and Camp for a week. By the end we were feeing like locals! The area is breathtakingly beautiful and we were amazed by how reasonably priced was this delightful accommodation. We were traveling as a family, but with four separate bedrooms and baths this would be a great place for a group of golfers to enjoy the two world class courses. Plenty of wonderful pubs and restaurants in Waterville and the surrounding villages. Highly recommended!
Perfect house and location
We stayed 5 nights at Mary’s house in Waterville. She was a perfect host, welcomed us with wine and fresh bread, and answered all my questions and emails immediately. The house was fabulous, large, comfortable and had everything we needed for two families. I would rate this whole trip an A+ !
Thank you so much for your nice review. It was a pleasure to meet you and have you in my home.
Wonderfully maintained home in Southwestern Ireland
We visited for two weeks. Mary greeted us with a bottle of wine and delicious Irish bread. We had email and her phone number to call if we needed but never had any issues. The home is nicely maintained. As the weather varied, we were able to use the fireplace some nights and enjoy open windows on other days. The setup with bedrooms on two floors allows privacy for two couples who want to share. The village of Waterville has restaurants, pubs, food stores, and butcher. Our favorite restaurants were Dooleys and Smugglers Inn. Although the weather wasn't warm enough for us to go to the beach to swim, we did enjoy walking before or after dinner. Highlights of our trip were boat to Skellig from Port Magee, driving the Ring of Kerry, Dingletown (children loved the aquarium), Sneem attractions (O' Connell home), and visiting Valentia Island (holy well there). There is so much to do as a day trip that you can't possibly do it all. We had wifi with our rental car which I would highly suggest if you have children or multiple heavy users. It's portable and you can carry inside home or attractions. I would definitely recommend this home. This was our 4th time using Home Away having been to Cape Cod and SJVI and we are very satisfied using the site.
Beautiful and spacious
We had such a great time at this house in Waterville. The house is beautiful and had everything you need. It is only a five minute walk to the beach snd town and there is so much to do around the area. And Waterville is a very beautiful scenic area. I would recommend staying here to anyone.. We would go back again
