We are Salt Lake City Natives whose families arrived here on July 24th 1847 – and have lived throughout the state and region since.

Christine’s grandfather built this duplex and 13 others on Capitol Hill between the 50’s and 70’s.

We are happy and eager to supply information, recommendations, guidance, and even history regarding Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Intermountain West.

loved the place.

Loved the location of the apartment. Well-kept and organized. Beautiful colors.

It was also very comfortable.

The owners answered our questions rapidly. It was great to meet them.

The only issue we had was with the neighbors staying upstairs: The kids ran up and down the length of the apartment repeatedly several times a day for the length of their stay. Very inconsiderate and disrespectful on their part. My family and I practice respect and acceptance of others. It was very disconcerting to observe that the people upstairs were so careless. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay. Thank You!

Great location!

The house was in a great location - safe, conveniently located to downtown SLC, the Capitol (perfect for the Tour of Utah!), and the U. The home was nicely appointed. The property management company was great to work with, very responsive and friendly. We'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect for entertaining and meeting with clients

Three associates and I stayed at this property to meet with clients. Our clients have a conference room in their building; however, we wanted to entertain them in a more neutral and relaxed setting. We were able to develop a closer relationship with and learn more about them in this setting than I believe we could have in a more formal setting. Being able to meet and enjoy the homey, yet sophisticated space here made all the difference. It was cold during our stay; however, there are three separate outdoor areas we hope to use someday. The internet modem worked flawlessly and met the security criteria of our business. The hosts showed interest in our trip being successful and brought us 8 matching table/desks to make up a nice conference table for 16 along with coffee, tea, and water dispensers. It went perfectly. We will definitely stay here again.

Impressive, comfortable and convenient!

We stayed here with a group of youth and it was perfect for us! The unit is contemporary, clean and very comfortable! The owner made every effort to make our stay pleasant and we loved it! Only a 15 minute walk to downtown SLC, quiet neighborhood and awesome views of the city! We had everything we needed here for a long weekend stay. It was very accommodating and enjoyable!! Highly recommended for families and big groups!

The Great Salt Lake Saltaire 21 mins

On the same block: Several houses North of the rental is a dead-end and hiking trails up into the Bonneville Trail and Ensign Peak Trail. I have hiked up those trails dozens of times in various seasons and highly recommend timing your hike to be descending around sunset. You will be able to see the Sunset reflecting off the Great Salt Lake, the City and Capitol lights turn on. Ensign Peak is where the City was planned from and there is wheelchair access to a halfway lookout point if you drive half way up taking the back way. The full hike takes 1.5 hrs up, but if you drive to the tourist hike starting area, it might take 20-30 minutes. It is still gorgeous to just hike even partial way up from the rental around sunset time. 2 blocks East is Memory Grove Forest and City Creek Canyon. Memory Grove is like a forest in the City. City Creek is North of Memory Grove and it's creek runs down the middle of Memory Grove and into a small lake. there are horse and buggy rentals you can ride into the Grove but no cars are allowed. Sometimes Weddings take place in a charming old house within the grove. There are beautiful memorials and fountains built and it is usually shady as it is in a grove. 1.42 blocks South is the State Capitol Building with museums inside and walkways around. A couple of my ancestors have iron statues in the Capitol. There are models and stories of the history of Utah. 4 blocks South is the LDS Conference Center which is the world's largest indoor conference center. Two 747s can fit inside. Across the street South of that is the LDS Temple Square with several building about the Mormon Church and it's history. Just 1 block to the West of the rental is the Historic District where houses were built in the 1800s and are preserved under Historical Society Ordinances. West of the Historical District is the Marmalade District which is arty and celebrates diverse lifestyles. About 6-7 blocks south is the brand new City Creek Mall finished in Feb 2012. About 8 blocks South West is the Olympic Memorial Gateway Mall which has theaters, restaurants, shops, fountains, etc. One of my favorite local restaurants in this neighborhood is just four blocks away and the owner lives close by. The owner is Emily and you can find local produce, foods from local farmers, etc. They have a beautiful shaded patio when in season. They have a coffee shop attached and once I went there with a friend for coffee and the servers had left for a break. The owner asked if I knew how to work espresso machines (I had worked at Starbucks long ago). She said to 'knock yourself out' and I made our unique custom drinks with froth exactly the way we wanted. It is called Em's Cafe and I highly recommend it. There is another restaurant called One World Cafe. The owner, Denise, has a large local garden and makes everything fresh and organic. Everyone gets to eat even if you do a chore or two in trade. You eat as little or as much as you like of each item (there is no menu), and then you pay what you think it is worth. They just ask that you finish what you take and do not waste food. Each night, they make paper plates of food covered in plastic wrap and each morning the plates are gone. Their vision is to end world hunger and they have 3 or 4 franchises in other states already. I had a large community garden for 10 years across the street and two lots North of the rental and I used to donate food to them (I grew over 300 produce/herb plants). If you like to watch wildlife and birds. There are some neighbors on the street who are active watchers. Deer, cottontail bunnies, gecko lizards, etc. etc. Several deer used to walk around my community garden during the summer. It is like living in a mountain forest with great views, yet so close to the center of the city. It is a very charming place to live. .. One block to State Capitol building, four blocks to LDS conference center, five blocks to temple square, six blocks to City Center, two blocks to Memory Grove, four blocks to Ensign Peak and City Creek Canyon, six blocks to freeway entrance, 30 min to most ski resorts, 20 min to the Great Salt Lake, seven min. to Bountiful, nine blocks to Gateway mall, 10 to 30 min to University, and eight minutes to airport.
