This unique apartment is walking distance to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, the Kansas City Convention Center, the Sprint Center, Crossroads neighborhood, downtown and the West-side neighborhood; which means its walking distance to some of the best restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, clubs, theatre & performance venues in the metro area. I honestly don't believe there is a better location in all of Kansas City.

The apartment includes: a king bed in one bedroom and a queen bed in the other; Washer and Dryer; Fully equipped kitchen including gas stove; Outdoor space; High speed internet; DVR; and 200+ channel cable including HBO.

The apartment is entirely yours without restriction. The back porch is shared with two other apartments, one of which is occupied by permanent residents, the other by travelers like you, which presents an opportunity to connect with your neighbors.

Use my parking pass for free parking (for one car) in the 'Arts District Garage' at 17th & Broadway (across the street); otherwise use on-street parking.

I am hesitant to write this positive review as it may cause this hidden jewel to become much more in demand in the future. In short, my stay at this apartment was amazing! I was initially greeted by the Owner, Steven upon my arrival and he was very friendly and welcoming. I was subsequently provided a tour of the apartment. I really enjoyed the views of the City sitting on the back patio during the day and especially at night. The interior was modern, comfortable as well as up to date. This place would be a writer’s dream as the views as well as the overall quiteness of the apartment building provide plenty of inspiration and freedom to think. I would definitely come back. Thank you Steven!!

Apartment is tastefully decorated with lots of homey touches

Great communication with owner who is super responsive. Great kitchen and laundry facilities. I only had two areas of disappointment: the deck and building. The picture of the view from the deck is very misleading. It is in terrible shape, shared with other properties and looks out over a parking lot with recreational vehicles. The building really shows its age and smells of kitty litter. Once inside the apartment those things don’t matter. The living room could use more comfortable chairs

Owner's Response: I appreciate your feedback Roxanne, truly I do. I understand that a.) the back porch was less than you expected and b.) the old building in which this apartment resides left something to be desired, especially the stairwell which smelled of kitty litter (presumably from one of the other seven apartments in the building). The good news is I can improve on both and I will strive to do so. Regarding the old building, I can improve the stairwell but, not so much the old building, showing its age. Because I've been dissatisfied with the condition of the building's stairwell myself in the past, I've asked my cleaning person, Pam, to clean the stairwell after each guest's stay. We can and will do more with regard to making sure the stairwell also smells clean and not like kitty litter :-) . If the 100+ year old building were mine, I'd spiff it up a bit so that it showed its age less but, I merely lease the property so I can't do much with the building itself. Thank you for your positive comments regarding the interior or the apartment itself. It sounded like I'm doing pretty good on that score which is perhaps the most important aspect of a rented apartment. I am planning to purchase new living room chairs though, the ones I have in there are a bit quirky and not for everyone. Regarding the back porch: Yes the back porch is shared but that should not have been a surprise to you since the following is an excerpt from the property listing description, "The back porch is shared with two other apartments, one of which is occupied by permanent residents, the other by travelers like you, which presents an opportunity to connect with your neighbors." I agree that the outdoor back porch is in need of some love. The outdoor furniture on the back porch needs a refresh; I'll get on that. Yes, there is a parking lot visible from the back porch, but so to is there a view of some of KC most iconic architectural gems. I have found there are those folks whose perception of that view from the back porch can not get past the parking lot and you are among them. Its a glass half empty/full sort of thing. I don't want that to sound like a slam on you, its not; but I know that I and others see the view from the back differently than you do. Its just how we're built, each with our perceptions. Please come back and see if I haven't make some of the improvements I've talked about here, but if you choose not to, lets hope that your fellow travelers will hold me to accounts. :-)

Great apartment and super location!

We had a great stay. The apartment was nice and very well equipped for all of our needs. The location was great and close to the convention center. I felt very safe. Our girls and I were normally by ourselves and I felt very comfortable coming in and out without my husband. Great location only two blocks from the free KC street car. Also, the free parking garage was an added bonus. When we left we didn't have to clean any of the bedding or towels. Our host said they would take care of it. How nice!!! Would recommend and stay again. Also, rooms were even bigger than they look in the pictures. Thanks!!
