La Prenda Vineyards Victorian - a large, well appointed 4 bedroom, 3 ½ bath vacation home - is the centerpiece of the working ranch from which Ned Hill, one of the region’s most prominent vineyard managers, guides more than 800 acres of the region’s finest grapes. Magnificent century old redwood trees compliment the impressive stature of the soaring two-story Victorian, backed by vineyards and ranch operations. Located at the gateway to Sonoma Valley, the ranch is just minutes from historic Sonoma Plaza, hundreds of Sonoma, Carneros and Napa wineries, dozens of restaurants, historic sites, hiking trails, bike paths, spas, galleries, shops and event facilities.

SNUGGLING IN

Step into this stately sanctuary and make yourself at home! Settle into comfy furnishings in front of a blazing fire in the first floor living room. Whip up a gourmet meal in the spacious kitchen; enjoy a formal dinner at the large dining table, or informal meal in the kitchen’s breakfast room. Play games or watch movies in the family room, complete with a large flat screen television, full sofa bed, and wood-burning stove.

The well equipped kitchen, with granite counter tops, central island, and new stainless steel appliances, provides plenty of work space for family and friends who cook together, as well as professionals. Invite a private chef in – and plan an intimate dinner.

A spacious veranda wraps around the front of the house, and a back porch and lawn provide ample space for outdoor dining. The hot tub is located just off the back porch. The expansive handcrafted picnic table seats 12.

The first floor’s 1000 square foot master suite features a sitting area with fireplace, cal king bed and huge marble bath with tiled floors.

Hardwood floors flow throughout the remainder of the first floor, while carpeting softens the upstairs bedrooms. A second master with cal king bed, rich wood furnishings and in suite bath is located on the second floor. Two separate queen bedrooms share a tiled bath. A hide-a-bed loveseat in the king provides space for an additional child or adult, along with the family room sofa bed, The Victorian comfortably sleeps up to 10 people. There are also additional folding beds available. (twin sizes)

STOCKING UP

Stocking up on food and wine in Sonoma is a pleasure with numerous gourmet indulgences, grocery stores, wine shops and wineries so nearby. Broadway Market, just one mile north of The Victorian, carries basic supplies, has an excellent meat department and great sandwiches for take out. Whole Foods, Sonoma Market, and Safeway, just a few minutes away, are near Sonoma Plaza on West Napa Street. A number of wine shops and tasting rooms are located on and around Sonoma Plaza. Sonoma’s Best at the junction of East Napa St. and Eighth St. East, features gourmet take out and a lovely patio for breakfast and lunch. The Farmer’s Market operates seasonally on Tuesday evenings in Sonoma Plaza and year round at Depot Park on Friday mornings.

La Prenda Vineyards boasts its own fig, pear and apple trees, as well as vegetable gardens. Ned and Erika Hill are pleased to share the freshest of seasonal fruits and vegetables with guests.

Taking in the Flavors of the Wine Country

Located in the heart of The Carneros appellation, La Prenda is centrally located for visits to Carneros, Sonoma and Napa wineries. More than twenty wineries are within a 10-minute drive. Dozens are less than a half hour away. Renowned restaurants featuring international cuisine and fresh local products are abundant, many within a five-minute drive.

A rich collection of spas, galleries, antique stores and specialty shops are close at hand. Unique regional offerings include Cornerstone and Di Rosa Preserve. Cornerstone Gardens, on Hwy 121 just south of The Victorian is an exciting center with shops, a restaurant, incredible gardens created by world-renowned garden designers, and an event center which hosts weddings and celebrations.

Di Rosa Preserve – just across Hwy 12 from Domaine Carneros, features an outstanding collection of California contemporary art.

Numerous nearby hiking trails offer a close up look at the beautiful natural terrain and native habitat. Local bike shops and tour companies offer rentals and tours.

Ned Hill grew up in the grapegrowing business. His parents, Steve and Gwen Hill, own Parmelee-Hill Wines and Vineyards. Their fifty-acre vineyard is located on Sperring Road, west of the Victorian off of Arnold Drive.

  • All bedrooms are very spacious and have ample storage. The downstairs master features 2 large walk in closets and two water closets. Both the upstairs and downstairs masters have an in suite bath. The upstairs master also features a loveseat with a pullout bed. The back porch has a comfy, full size sofa bed. The room can easily be made more private using the two room dividing screens we've supplied for your use. Two separate upstairs bedrooms are set up with Queen beds. We've also supplied guests with two additional folding beds that can be used where needed.

70th Birthday Celebration

The perfect house for my 70th birthday celebration. Friends from Colorado and my two daughters stayed at La Prenda, plenty of beds and bathroom facilities for the six of us. Four friends from Sonoma joined us for dinner and games in the evening. Great location, minutes from town. Friendly owners. I would highly recommend this property.

Could Not Have Asked For More

We visited Sonoma with 5 friends to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary and could not have asked for my from our rental- the La Prenda Vineyard Victorian was exceptional in every way. The space was well appointed with all of the comforts of home-- the kitchen had more than enough of everything we needed to prepare our own meal; there was great space both inside and out for spending time together; and the bedrooms were perfect for quiet time apart. We simply could not have asked for anything more- thank you for sharing your space with us! Cheers!!

Fantastic home!!

We stayed at the La Prenda home for 4 nights recently. There were 5 of us in total (+ small dog) and we would have been comfortable in this spacious home if we had twice as many guests. The pictures are accurate, but do not convey in total, how impressive this property is in person. Everything, including all furnishings, landscaping, appliances, towels, etc, are in top notch condition. The home was spotless. Every cupboard and drawer were labeled on the outside with the contents inside. You can't imagine what a timesaver it is to not have to open every drawer to find a spoon or spatula! The only issue we had was the AC not working in master bedroom. Since we only used the room at night, we were comfortable with the fans, so we didn't complain. Midway into our visit, we took advantage of the complimentary tasting and tour offered by the owners, Erika and Ned Hill. Do not miss out on this opportunity!! Our visit with Ned was the highlight of the trip. Well, I happened to mention the AC issue in passing to Ned, and it was fixed by that afternoon.

You will need a vehicle to get into town (about a 5 minute drive). You will want a car anyway to visit the amazing nearby towns, such as Glen Ellen, Napa (obviously), Healdsburg, etc. We enjoyed great meals at The Girl and the Fig, Glen Ellen Star, and LaSalette.

Ned and Erika are perfectionists. We have stayed in many VRBO homes throughout CA, and this is by far the nicest one. They go above and beyond to make it a special experience for visitors. I recommend this home without any hesitation!

PERFECT!

The beautiful house is exactly as advertised. I stayed with a large group of girlfriends who flew in from all over the country to enjoy time catching up and relaxing while also enjoying all that Napa Valley has to offer. The house is cozy, comfortable, beautiful and spacious. My girlfriends already inquired about staying again in the future!

The pictures don't lie. What you see is what you get, and this house is siply awesome! I stayed here recently with 11 of my closest girlfriends in a trip through Sonoma Wine Country, and we absolutely loved it. It is a beautiful home, and it is huge. Not once did we ever feel cramped in this house, and we took full advantage of all it has to offer. Well worth it! Just book far in advance as it appears to be pretty popular!!!
