About Brian

We fell in love with this property and the Applegate Valley after a chance overnight stay in Ashland. We like to say that this property found us. Immediately we knew that we had found our dream home and purchased this property in 2013 without a second thought. Having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years, this was a big change from Silicon Valley to luxury rural mountain life. We adore it and hope you will too.

This property is such a rare treasure and we knew we wanted to share it with others. We are delighted to share it with you to help make your visit to Southern Oregon memorable. My wife and I live on the property in small home and are available to help you get the most out of your stay in an area that offers a wide range of activities and adventures from wine tasting to white water rafting to salmon fishing to live theater.

Brian purchased this chateau / country house in 2013

Why Brian chose Jacksonville

Moonstruck Manor & The Little River Barn are located in the southern end of the Applegate Valley Wine Appellation, home to award-winning wines with beautiful vineyards to visit year round . As Sunset Magazine says about the Applegate Valley, “Wine country the way it should be.” The wineries are first rate with friendly, unpretentious staff. Many sell food and have lovely picnic areas to relax with live musical entertainment during summer.

Look for more information and promotions on our Facebook page:

The manor is only 15 min from historic Jacksonville, a National Historic site with wonderful boutique shopping and dining. It is home to the Britt Music Festival which is an outdoor amphitheater with live musical acts ranging from classical to pop artists. If you prefer the theater, you can take in a play at the world-renowned Ashland Shakespeare Festival only 40 min away. The Rogue River is close by, known for its salmon runs, whitewater rafting, and rugged scenery. Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the US, is just a couple hours away, as are caves and Klamath Falls. The Applegate and Southern Oregon offer so many other activities including fishing, paragliding, hiking and biking. If you’re into birding, you will love all of the wildlife right on the property. Check out the Activities section for a complete list.

Amazing home and plenty of room for sharing time with family and friends!

  • 5 of 5

Great hosts, with plenty of help if you need anything! They provide all the amenities you would need to start your retreat and the home is beautiful! Traveling from the east coast we'd had a long day and they met us at the home to give us all the details and showed us around their beautiful home. It's a great place to relax and share good times with friends.

An Elegant Stay in the Country!

  • 5 of 5

Moonstruck Manor was everything we hoped it would be. We brought a group of 9 -- 8 adults, 1 teen -- to the Applegate Valley for a family reunion/birthday celebration, and the house proved an ideal location both in terms of amenities and activities. The downstairs game room saw a lot of use, the bedrooms are quite comfortable (and offer glorious views, even from the bathrooms), and the kitchen is well-stocked and a pleasure to work in. Brian was generous with information about the local area and the property's history -- which includes some fascinating quirks -- and he made our stay comfortable and convenient, quickly fixing the one minor issue we encountered. Our teenager was excited to spend time communing with nature -- the Little Applegate River flows along the bottom of the property, there's a lovely barn onsite, wildlife (deer, turkeys) roam the property, and there are plenty of farm animals along the roadside leading toward the nearby ghost town of Buscom. With beautiful, historic Jacksonville a 15-minute drive away, Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival within 45 minutes, the burgeoning Applegate Valley wine country surrounding the property, and lovely Applegate Lake nearby for hiking and recreation, Moonstruck Manor is a wonderful place to while away a few days. One quick caveat: This property is in a quite rural area, and while a perfectly serviceable wifi/cell connection (and, of course, TV service via DirecTV) is provided inside the house, the area around the house offers no cellphone connectivity for miles around. (Which can leave the hyper-connected kids kinda freaked out.) We couldn't have enjoyed a nicer stay at Moonstruck Manor, and we very much hope to return!

The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from spending the New Year's holiday week at Moonstruck Manor. Brian and Stacy were wonderful about accommodating our big group of family and friends and very helpful with providing information that we needed. The house is very impressive - large open plan that makes hanging out so much fun. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The views of the surrounding countryside were spectacular from all the rooms. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The kids in the group (big and small) loved the game room. The kids did not want to leave this beautiful home, which made it easier for groups of adults to go for quick wine tasting excursions on the Applegate trail. The beautiful horses, Sweet Pea and Sky, roaming in the meadow in front of the house were a treat to the eyes and added to the feeling of peace and tranquility that we experienced in the house. The house is not too far from the cute little town of Jacksonville where we spent an afternoon exploring. The icing on the cake was the proximity to Mount Ashland - so skiing was only an hour's drive away. Moonstruck Manor is most definitely a gem and a perfect getaway. We would highly recommend planning a vacation on this property. Thanks Brian and Stacy!

My family's stay here was beyond perfect! Brian and Stacey are fantastic people and allowed us to have our wedding here on 9/19/15. My new husband and I couldn't of asked for a more wonderful setting for our big day. Our close family and friends who attended were blown away by the beautiful surroundings. I can't wait until we see our pictures. We took complete advantage of the creek, barn and natural surrounding to capture the beauty of the day. We loved all of the rooms in the house, especially the game room where we hung out the night before the wedding. Thank you so much Brian and Stacey for allowing us to start our married lives on your property. We will remember it always!

Great Medford area house

  • 5 of 5

My family used this excellent home as our base camp for excursions in the area. We visited Crater Lake, the Oregon Caves, the Redwoods, beaches, lakes, waterfalls and much more. On our off days the grandkids enjoyed the river and the game room. This property exceeded my family's expectations.

The Perfect Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had our wedding here and I think it was probably one of the best choices I made for the entire wedding. The property is more gorgeous than the pictures convey, the stars are absolutely amazing, and Brian and Stacey are wonderful hosts and some of the kindest people I have met.

A little about our wedding - we had a Sunday brunch wedding with about 30 guests. The ceremony was down at a riverbank, near the Little Barn, and it was woodsy, centered on nature, and really lovely. We had guests drive up to the house following the ceremony for mimosas and bloody marys on the back patio, right off of the kitchen, as the wedding party finished preparing and setting up food. The reception was held on the portico, near the front door, and following brunch, a lot of guests stuck around and played board games in the house until pie and ice cream later that night. The house was perfect for our stay, for our wedding, and our guests continued to ask us how we found it. I can't imagine having our wedding at a place better than here.

My parents are talking about out a week-long stay for their 30th anniversary in a couple of years. Friends of ours are planning on stopping and staying at the house for their drives from California to Washington that they make regularly.

And I'll leave you with this: some members of the wedding party have suggested we have a wedding reunion every year at the house. How many times do you hear that after a wedding?!

Brian and Stacey, you can bet we'll be back!
