About the property

Adding another home up the street to accomidate more looking for good rate

Situated approx. 100 yards from water on 5 acres at the end of a road. Very private. Hike to the lake with no one around first thing in the morning with not a soul in site, but only 1.3 miles to the highway and 10 miles to town. 2 miles to boat dock, plenty of land to enjoy. Trails to the lake for a ATV or a horse if you bring yours. The new swimming pool will be complete before April 2015 unless unforeseen circumstances show up. A new pool table is usable in the basement basement has couches and walk out deck to back yard, along with two queen beds in one room and a complete bathroom. I recently added a fire pit down by the lake and left four chairs.

Dishes, silverware, bowls, coffee maker and cups, cooking pots and pans, blender, Crock pot, gas grill. Master Bedroom has King bed and Master bath, other two bedrooms on second floor are queen beds with bathroom between. All beds are new, Purchased 2/26/2014. Very clean and recently Painted. Screened in Deck on back of house facing Lake is 8' x 35'. Deck on front(8' x 35') and side and outside of finished basement(35' x 26' Deck) which faces lake. Small fire Place inside.

The county allows sale of Alcohol. Sunset Marina Cooks up a great steak and The River Grill serves up some good dinner and The Bobcat is good for breakfast. There are other eateries in Brydstown and is a 10 min drive from cabin. For those that like to eat very well, I recommend Craw Daddies or Anchor Down in Cookeville and there is a very good Mexican eatery in Livingston, TN next to Food Lion.

The Marathon station has all the lures anyone could want if you plan to fish and need a few items. Live bait can be found at the Kwik Stop or at Sunset Marina where one could use for boat ramp, 5$. Also, the state park, adjacent to Sunset Marina, has a good boat ramp for 4$, State Park(2 Miles away) also has a beach. There are several Marinas around the lake and Dale Hollow is approx. 61 miles long with several fingers of water.

We have WIFI, TV in the Living Room and Master Bedroom has a DVD player. We are just getting started and although this place is awesome, It will only get better,..

We now have two other properties with Listing numbers 1212162 and 1299121.

The Perfect Escape!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 4th year renting through VRBO and this cabin was my family's favorite thus far! We wanted to get away from the beaten path, hang out by a pool with family, friends, our dog, and just chillax instead of adhering to any kind of jam-packed itinerary. This rental allowed for a super-comfortable, safe, and fun week in gorgeous surroundings doing exactly that! The cabin was clean, the beds were comfy, the linens and supplies were plentiful, and while there were fire pits that we could have used, we didn't because the pool was so darned awesome! The owners were on site when we arrived and they are super-cool, animal-loving folks which we appreciated! There is a FoodLion close by so we enjoyed full meals in the well-stocked kitchen every day, cold beer, and bought more supplies for our group as needed. We had family pool tournaments downstairs and watched DVD's in the living room (BluRays aren't compatible with the current DVD player.) I really appreciated use of the washer and dryer in the cabin, the former of which is nicer than we have at home! We could see Dale Hollow Lake in the distance through the trees, which was lovely, but we weren't interested in venturing down there, again--because we were so happy to hang out by the pool and we aren't into boating. Our group consisted of 6 adults between 19-53 and everyone had a blast. I would def. recommend this cabin to others and return for another vacation here without hesitation.

Spacious Home, Great Pool, definitely a spot for Dog Lovers ! :)

  • 4 of 5

Had a great trip, was able to have our local family visit with us. It rained a lot during our stay, but in between being able to use the pool we had plenty of room for the 7 of us to visit in the house, we used the pool table a lot. The 3 dogs from down the road came to visit every day and stayed almost all day, they even got in our van while we were unloading and packing up to leave, but they're all very friendly, lovable dogs as were John's 2 dogs, they took a swim with us a couple times. :) My only suggestion would be to maybe put a light in the ceiling fan in the living room or some more lamps. Thanks for sharing your Beautiful property with us !

We Returned!

  • 4 of 5

We loved this property during our previous visit (during the exact same week of 2017) so we decided to return. Upon arrival we were met with just a couple of glitches: There was no key waiting in the secret spot, the key code to the front door wasn't as instructed, and the pool was closed/not usable--without any prior warning to my family at all. That said, the house inside was in even nicer condition than we experienced last year, and the local area was just as wonderful. While last year there was still some construction and a slight odor going on to the basement, this year it was complete, fresh, and very nice down there! The house itself was clean, and had everything we needed in terms of supplies. I bring much of my own cookware and towels, and considering there is a Food Lion close - we stayed well stocked. The owner suggested a few great marinas to me several months before our stay, and he was right on point. We rented a pontoon for the day from Eagle's Cove, and then jetski's from Sunset Marina - both of which were a blast and a pleasure to work with. Not having the pool during our stay was an unexpected disappointment, but it made us venture out onto the lake, which we are SURE glad that we did! Dale Hollow Lake is amazing and the pool was in the process of being ready for the next guests as we left. All told I would still recommend this property to others, as it is quite lovely. :)

Great NYE reunion!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a reunion for New Years Eve at the cabin with our dogs. We had a great time! We all had plenty of space. Everything was very clean upon our arrival. Beds and couches were comfortable. We cooked a few times and had everything that we needed. Thanks so much for having us John!

The cabin was really good.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was really good and John was really nice. just a couple of things but both very minor. The light bulb in the fridge was out and the instructions said to use big black trash bags but there weren't any where they said.

Great for the human and even better for the dogs!

  • 5 of 5

While the first couple of days got off to a rocky start with no A/C, John immediately corrected the situation by having a new unit installed. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and would stay there again in a heartbeat! The house has just about everything you need. John, Wendy, Judy and Dwain are the best and I miss them already. The only thing I would recommend is some new pots and pans and a cutting board to save your counter tops. Otherwise da bomb!
