About Christine Castigliano
After meeting my husband at work at TIME Magazine in New York City in 1988, we relocated to the Seattle area in search of a healthy place to raise kids. We fell in love with the natural beauty and close-knit community in the West Sound region of Puget Sound. Yes, it rains a lot! Summers are outstanding. And this climate is friendly to year-round food production. We bought this old farmstead because it had both the open, sunny space I need and the forested trails that my husband loves. We spent 7 years renovating the Barn, a guest house, farmhouse and other buildings. Recently we got into renovating vintage silver trailers, with an 1977 Airstream Sovereign and a 1955 Royal Mansion on the property. While we really enjoy bringing old things back to life, we are grateful that our marriage survives! We're blessed by a community of warm-hearted people and the gorgeous natural world, right outside our door. Our son is a working musician in the area and our daughter is in college. My husband enjoys making sculpture, wine and ginger beer. I'm a singer and storyteller, and we both enjoy camping at the Pacific Ocean in our VW van.
Christine Castigliano purchased this Barn in 2004
Why Christine Castigliano chose Poulsbo
The views of blue water and mountains inspires us every single day! We walk on our trails through moist fern forests to sweeping mountain overlooks or saltwater beaches. We grow %95 of our fruits and vegetables and raise chickens here. Old buildings have the charm of being well used and lived-in. We hope that warmth remains and restores a sense of natural vitality to our guests.
What makes this Barn unique
Curling up on the sofa with a book; looking over the big sky and mountains; visiting the beaches; taking a walk among giant ferns; picking a few strawberries for breakfast. These simple pleasures refresh my soul. For us, it's the good life. And we love to share it with others.

Quaint hidden gem of a barn
My partners birthday was during this weekend and it was lovely and relaxing staying at the barn. We could access the trail system from the barn which was great so that made it even better. There was fun to be had by all!
So Cute
We enjoyed a relaxing few days with family, totally recommend it!
Delightful Stay
The Barn With a View is charming and very comfortable. We found a puzzle in the stack of games located in the cupboard and we could do the puzzle at one end of the long farm table and eat at the other end. So relaxing. We found information on local activities such as hiking and kayaking! And Poulsbo is a delightful little town. A great week at The Barn!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review.
I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to connect during your stay. But we're so glad you enjoyed your time here!
